The Great Hall
Temple Newsam is a Tudor-Jacobean house located 4 miles from Leeds city centre in West Yorkshire. The house was given a Grade I listed in 1951 and is currently in the care of Leeds City Council and is open to the public.
The house was built for Thomas Darcy, 1st Baron Darcy de Darcy between 1500 and 1520 as a grand Tudor manor house. In 1537 Thomas, Lord Darcy was executed for the part he played in the Pilgrimage of Grace and the property was seized by the Crown. In 1544 Henry VIII gave it to his niece Lady Margaret Douglas (Countess of Lennox), and she lived there with her husband Matthew Stewart, 4th Earl of Lennox. Their son Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley, who was born in the house in 1545, married Mary, Queen of Scots, and was the father of King James VI of Scotland and I of England.
In the 17th century, the south and north wings were rebuilt and the east wing demolished, replaced by a low wall with an arched gateway, giving the house a fashionable 'half-H' appearance.
The Tower is an iconic landmark on top of the beautiful Cotswolds escarpment. It was the brainchild of the great 18th century landscape designer, “Capability Brown”. His vision was carried out for George William 6th Earl of Coventry with the help of renowned architect James Wyatt and completed in 1798 on Beacon Hill.

Lake O'Hara in Yoho National Park is a preserved area. It can only be reached by their schedule daily tour bus (old yellow school bus) or hike a 8km trail to get in there from the nearest parking lot.
This is a 4 images stitched panorama. I was hoping to have some good sunset lights. The cloudy weather never really go away within the 2 days I was there. And I think I truly experienced what it means by "There's no bad lighting!!". And sometimes what you don't expect might give you the most dramatic results. Like the lovely clouds that put this image into a different mood. Hope you can enjoy this place from the photo as much as I do!!
The mountain in the middle is Yukness Mountain, and one on the right is Mt. Schaffer
Hope you like it!
And a great weekend!!
It is a fairy tale called Saiful Malook, written by the Sufi poet Mian Muhammad Bakhsh... And due to the fame of this story this lake is named as "Saiful Malook".
The story is about a Persian prince named Saif ul Malook who fell in love with a fairy named Badi ul Jamal whom he saw in his dreams. The prince thus started his journey to find his beloved fairy Badi ul Jamal. He was clueless in his restless journey until he met a Devish (holy man), who told him how he can find her. Devish also told him that he had to go through many exams before he could find and marry Badi ul Jamal, because she was a fairy and prince was human. The prince then starts his journey for the impossible in the name of his love. The rest of the story chronicles the challenges he faced during his journey and the spiritual lessons he learned on the way.
This is what remains of the German First World War ship "S V Carl" that sank at Booby's Bay in 1917.
After the recent storms it has been unearthed after quite a considerable time, but is slowly being buried again by the incoming tide. The light rocks in between the structure are actually concrete ballast, or what is actually left.
Thanks to Simon for the info and a great day out.

it is from my old archives[ my favorite]... took this at a beach near to San Diego[ forgot the name] in the year 2008 with a 5mp p&s camera.
I hope, now the title will make some sense :)
No Cropping or straightening here...
Erigeron annuus is a herbaceous plant with alternate, simple leaves, and green, sparsely hairy stems, which can grow to between 30 and 150 centimeters (about 1 to 5 feet) in height. Leaves are numerous and large relative to other species of Erigeron, with lower leaves, especially basal leaves, coarsely toothed or cleft, a characteristic readily distinguishing this species from most other Erigeron. Upper leaves are sometimes (not always) toothed, but may have a few coarse teeth towards the outer tips.
The flower heads are white with yellow centers, with rays that are white to pale lavender, borne spring through fall depending on the individual plant. Ray florets number 40-100.

This is a shot taken Jan. 3, 2025. These hawks will often hunt by hovering in place, flapping their wings if there is not enough wind. Red-tailed hawks will also do this.
In a stiff breeze they are able to just face into the wind and stay in place, known as kiting. I saw one of these hawks doing this today Jan 17, in a very stiff breeze, 20-30 mph. Some very cold weather is due to move in overnight.
There is the potential for a good shot here this isnt it though sadly due to the fact that i had alot of problems with flare due to moisture on the lens from the water so will re shoot and hopefully get a better shot.
Thanks for comments and faves.
Below is previous shot from the pier same day.
I found this on Blackpool beach. Did someone build this? It's so haphazard for a fence across the opening!
This is yet another photo of a sunset from the footpath descending down to the beach at Temple Bay. I just loved the simplicity of the shot, with the salt pruned scrub woodland silhouetted on the right. To me it's a really special place, regular evening fishing trips, when the air is redolent of summer herbs, such as wild thyme, marjoram, wood sage and all the others!!! Just perfect!
The title has only a tenuous link, apart from a link via a band we saw last week at Bristol, called Half Man Half Biscuit. They're not to everyones taste!!!
This shot is of a soapbubble. We could have the impression it's a planet or exo-planet. Science can observe those planets at a very far distance, several lighyears away. They could contain life or could have contained life. The distance with their sun should be perfect, so that water is available in its 3 fases: liquid, gas and ice. The image title is also the name of a real exo-planet.
Every day as I stroll through the village, I am met with a sight that challenges the stereotypical image of seniors leisurely spending their days feeding pigeons in the park. Instead, I am greeted by vibrant groups, which include a substantial number of silver-haired adventurers, enthusiastically participating in calisthenics before embarking on Fort Langley Canoe Club's boats. Clad in vivid life vests and equipped with paddles, they head towards their designated vessels. Teams skillfully navigate the channel, their laughter and voices reverberating along the shores. Whether it's raining or shrouded in fog, these individuals redefine the notion of a "silver lining," forging connections and demonstrating that age is merely a number—preferably one you paddle through with style! I borghi più belli d'Italia
The most beautiful villages in Italy
Civita venne fondata 2500 anni fa dagli Etruschi.
Civita was founded by Etruscans more than 2,500 years ago.
The location of his boyhood house has long since fallen off the edge of the cliff. By the 16th century, Civita was beginning to decline, becoming eclipsed by its former suburb Bagnoregio.
At the end of the 17th century, the bishop and the municipal government were forced to move to Bagnoregio because of a major earthquake that accelerated the old town's decline. At that time, the area was part of the Papal States. In the 19th century, Civita's location was turning into an island and the pace of the erosion quickened as the layer of clay below the stone was reached in the area where today's bridge is situated. Bagnoregio continues as a small but prosperous town, while Civita became known in Italian as il paese che muore ("the town that is dying"). Civita has only recently been experiencing a tourist revival.
The population today varies from about 12 people in winter to more than 100 in summer.
Sometimes very little is needed. A simple look to something ordinary. Maybe it will remind something to us and make us to smile. An extravaganza is nice and great, but sometimes a quiet melancholy is more. It's closer to ourselves and it tells a story that only we can understand.
This scene is taken from Portland, Maine's harbor with South Portland in the far distance. In between, stretching across the entire photo is the Ocean Gateway Pier that gives access to Ocean Liners and other large water craft. Viewed large two lighthouses, both in South Portland, are visible.
On the right and in the middle of the photo: Affectionately referred to as Bug Light because of its small stature, Portland Breakwater Lighthouse in Bug Light Park (Madison Street, South Portland) was built in 1855 of cast iron with a brick lining on a granite block foundation. The lighthouse was first lit in 1875. During World War II in 1942, lighthouse beacons were dimmed for security reasons, and Bug Light wasn't re-lit until 2002 when the Coast Guard added a solar-powered light.
On the left and just barely visible next to the third mast in: Built in 1897, Spring Point Ledge Lighthouse (2 Fort Road, South Portland) sticks up at the mouth of the harbor like a giant spark plug, and it also has several distinctive features including a view of the entire Portland skyline from across the water. Of the 50 caisson-style lighthouses built in America on sturdy, metal foundations, this is the only one you can walk to: It's connected to land via a breakwater on the campus of Southern Maine Community College. Van den Bergh 14 & 15 along with SH2-202 in HaLRGB. This is a 2-panel mosaic from data I finished capturing a few months ago but hadn't had the time to sit down and process until now. I am properly proud of this image, more so than any of the others I have made since going remote. The stark contrast of the blue reflection nebula and the hydrogen alpha emission from the Sharpless cloud juxtaposed next to each other make this an extremely dynamic region.
I have not seen that many images of these objects in particular on Astrobin and thus wanted to shoot it in the hopes of inspiring others to make even better images of it in the future.

Duck is the common name for numerous species of waterfowl in the family Anatidae. Ducks are generally smaller and shorter-necked than swans and geese, which are members of the same family. Divided among several subfamilies, they are a form taxon; they do not represent a monophyletic group (the group of all descendants of a single common ancestral species), since swans and geese are not considered ducks. Ducks are mostly aquatic birds, and may be found in both fresh water and sea water.

Esso chiude la Valle d'Ampezzo a nord (assieme all'antistante monte Pomagagnon), dividendola dalle valli circostanti.
Hamilton Gardens is a terrific place to visit is with its feature of many different types of intriguing and unique garden designs. Brilliant. There's this pond connecting some of the gardens. When passing I couldn't help noticing the strong and profound reflections created by the surrounding planting. It was a calm day so hardly any wind movements in the water. Not easy to find an intersting angel to shoot from (not made easier by the many people visiting that day) but I like the drama of the clouds. Nice quiet moment of exploring.

Spica, brilliant blue alluring star
Across the heavens, it’s you I see
Your radiance draws me from afar
And makes me wonder about me
What if I were in your universe?
Greener grass and bluer skies?
The point is moot, for better or worse
Alas, we lead our star-crossed lives
My world is here, I love her so
The door of possibility is not ajar
With heavy heart, I turn to go
Sweet dreams, my precious Virgo star

Testing a preloved CANON RF 15-30mm f/4.5-6.3 IS ST lens from MBP. Tricky shooting, the local mini forest is not actively managed and chaotic. The paths wander as trees grow and local dog walkers trim branches. We had a lot of trees blown down in storms over the last few years.
Aberdeenshire (Scottish Gaelic: Siorrachd Obar Dheathain) is one of the 32 council areas of Scotland. It takes its name from the old County of Aberdeen which had substantially different boundaries. Modern Aberdeenshire includes all of what was once Kincardineshire, as well as part of Banffshire. The old boundaries are still officially used for a few purposes, namely land registration and lieutenancy. Aberdeenshire Council is headquartered at Woodhill House, in Aberdeen, making it the only Scottish council whose headquarters are located outside its jurisdiction. Aberdeen itself forms a different council area (Aberdeen City). Aberdeenshire borders onto Angus and Perth and Kinross to the south, Highland and Moray to the west and Aberdeen City to the east. Traditionally, it has been economically dependent upon the primary sector (agriculture, fishing, and forestry) and related processing industries. Over the last 40 years, the development of the oil and gas industry and associated service sector has broadened Aberdeenshire's economic base, and contributed to a rapid population growth of some 50% since 1975. Its land represents 8% of Scotland's overall territory. It covers an area of 6,313 square kilometres
This was a super rare chance to see the original deco-esque paintings that Crowley created with artist Harris reflected his own dark weird take on the deck based around his self created magick religion Thoth. The kind of work you would never expect to see in Venice which is what made it so inspiring.
España - Málaga - Ronda - Baños árabes
ENGLISH
This thermal building of the arab time is the best conserved of its kind at the Iberian Peninsula. It is located at the old arab quarter of the city, today called San Miguel Quarter, being the formerly outside quarter of the arab medina (city) of Ronda.
The bahts were built near the Arroyo de las Culebras (snakes' stream), a perfect place in order to be provided of water, which was moved by a waterwheel, in an current perfect conservation state.
The chronology of the Ronda arab bahts starts at the 13th-14th centuries. The bath is divided into three main zones, following the Roman model of thermal buildings:cold water, warm water and hot water bathrooms. The hydraulic system of the thermal bath has arrived to our days almost complete. The central room is the biggest and has got three parts, separated by four pairs of horseshoe arches above bricks and stone columns, which have the function of holding up barrel vaults, with nice skylights forming stars, closed with glass.
The building is surrounded by one wall with blind arches (no light can be seen through them) and has got at its end a tower containing the waterwheel structure. The boiler area is also conserved, where the water was heated, as well as rests of a tannery, which was the main activity of this place after the christian conquest of the city, which meant that the use of the building as thermal baths was neglected.

Look another custom! This is my Black Bolt, (and was not based on an picture) an I like it. I used the Ronan torso and with a little silver paint, I think it looks nice. I would have used the wings from the bat minifigure, but alas I do not have the figure. So I tried my best to sculpt on something that looked like wings. The "wings" on the side of his arms look as if they are closed, not open. The hardest part about the figure was probably that little thing Black Bolt has on his head.
I like it, so hope you guys do.

This is a picture of the Radio Tower (Funkturm) here in Berlin during festival of light 2014. I decided to create a composition based on a) a long exposure shot of the Radio Tower, b) a shot of a star scape over Berlin processed with StarStax and c) a picture of the super moon I shot some time ago. The post processing and blending of all the three shots was done with Photoshop, the pictures where taken with my Canon EOS 40D.

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

You may notice that this green iguana is not in fact green! She came to The Living Rainforest after being a pet for a number of years. It is common in the pet trade to selectively breed individuals with more desirable traits, and artificially create different colour morphs. This can cause issues within the captive population of the species, as it often involves in-breeding.
The green iguana (Iguana iguana), also known as the American iguana or the common green iguana, is a large, arboreal, mostly herbivorous species of lizard of the genus Iguana. Usually, this animal is simply called the iguana. The green iguana ranges over a large geographic area; it is native from southern Brazil and Paraguay as far north as Mexico, and has been introduced from South America to Puerto Rico and is very common throughout the island, where it is colloquially known as gallina de palo ("bamboo chicken" or "chicken of the tree") and considered an invasive species; in the United States, feral populations also exist in South Florida (including the Florida Keys), Hawaii, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Green iguanas have also successfully colonised the island of Anguilla, arriving on the island in 1995 after rafting across the Caribbean from Guadeloupe, where they were introduced.
A herbivore, it has adapted significantly with regard to locomotion and osmoregulation (the maintenance of constant osmotic pressure in the fluids of an organism by the control of water and salt concentrations) as a result of its diet. It grows to 1.5 m in length from head to tail, although a few specimens have grown more than 2 m with bodyweights upward of 9.1 kg.
This animal is a resident of The Living Rainforest which is an indoor greenhouse tropical rainforest that is located in Hampstead Norreys in Berkshire, England. It is an ecological centre, educational centre and visitor attraction consisting of three glasshouses, operated and run by the Trust for Sustainable Living. The glasshouses are named Amazonica, Lowlands and Small Islands respectively.
The Living Rainforest has been accredited by the Council for Learning Outside of the Classroom and awarded the LOtC Quality Badge. Each year around 25,000 children visit the Living Rainforest as part of their school's curriculum. It is open 7-days a week from 09:30 to 16:00.
