This is the only the second time that I have been able to photograph this owl, although I have seen it and tried for years. It is also nice that I have captured it awake with its eyes open.

ALTHOUGH it is rather nondescript the corn bunting does have a distinctive song. It dangles it legs when flying short distances, and just look at its nails, they are very approachable with extreme care, I love seeing them at the Ancient Highway Sandwich Kent.

Redshank - Tringa Totanus
The common redshank is a widespread breeding bird across temperate Eurasia. It is a migratory species, wintering on coasts around the Mediterranean, on the Atlantic coast of Europe from Ireland and Great Britain southwards, and in South Asia. They are uncommon vagrants outside these areas.
They are wary and noisy birds which will alert everything else with their loud piping call. Like most waders, they feed on small invertebrates. Redshanks will nest in any wetland, from damp meadows to saltmarsh, often at high densities. They lay 3–5 eggs.
The common redshank is one of the species to which the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA) applies.
It is widely distributed and quite plentiful in some regions, and thus not considered a threatened species by the IUCN.
Crupet is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Assesse, located in the province of Namur, Belgium.
Until 1977, it was itself a municipality.
It is a member of the organisation Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie (French; in English: Most Beautiful Villages in Wallonia).
The Castle of Crupet, a 13th Century medieval farm-chateau is situated below the village centre, and a little to the north, next to the river.
Subtly patterned brown-and-yellow warbler, known for constantly bobbing its tail. Often forages on the ground, unlike most other warblers. Breeding plumage shows a rufous cap. In fall and winter, look for pale eyebrow and dark line through the eye, diffuse streaks on underparts, and bright yellow undertail coverts. Two populations: “Western” is browner overall, brightest on the undertail coverts; “Yellow” is more suffused with yellow overall; they overlap extensively in range, especially during fall migration. Breeds in bogs and clearings in the boreal forest. In migration, found in a variety of open, shrubby habitats. One of the more common warblers wintering in the southern U.S.; also winters in the Caribbean and Yucatan Peninsula. (eBird)

Came across this "western" Palm Warbler a week or so ago. This is the common sub-species of Palm Warbler in our area. The "yellow" sub-species that I posted about a month ago is the unusual version, with just a tiny breeding population in a local bog.

The grey wagtail is a common bird of fast-flowing rivers and can be found in high densities in the hills of England, Scotland and Wales. In winter, they move to lowland areas and can be spotted in farmyards and even in towns. Grey wagtails eat ants and midges that they find beside rivers, and snails and tadpoles they find in shallow water. They nest near the water in hollows and crevices lined with moss and twigs.
It has a very long, black-and-white tail, a yellow rump and a yellow belly. It is grey above with black wings. Males have a grey face with a black throat bib and a white 'moustache'. The similar yellow wagtail has a shorter tail and an olive-green back, and does not have a black bib.

Kilmainham Gaol is a historic prison in Dublin, Ireland. Built in 1796, it was called the "New Gaol" to distinguish it from the ancient dungeon it replaced. Many Irish revolutionaries, including the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising, were imprisoned there. The prison was decommissioned in 1924 and became a popular museum and tourist attraction in 1966.
Everything is the same
Everything is broken
Everything still works
Everything stands still
Everything goes through everything
There's nothing I know for sure anymore
Blue was the sky under wich I slept
Green was the grass I walked on
There could be clouds full of worries
In the end they floated by
I'm looking for the common thread
Something that makes it all logical
I want to see, the way I saw, when I still had you
Because now, everything is gray
'Cause I can see the sun
But I don't feel the heat
The world is still spinning for me
But she's lost her colors

Ypache (Apache) is fed up with the run of wintry weather we’ve been having...Six inches of snow, lying for a week, torrential rain for a few days, now, Storm Erik (!) with gale force winds and more torrential rain, is raging around the house and hills.
Consequently, ‘Not-going-out’ has become the collective cat cry, recently. When they do venture out, it’s a very brief sortie to one of the outbuildings or to sit in the rafters of one of the garages. The house has become an indoor playground/feline gym/wrestling ring/chase park/hotel.
Here, she is just turning over on her bean bag, again, to lie down and get another comfortable position...
Come on, SPRING!

Koloc is a natural dolomite bridge on the Island of Brac, Croatia. It is 12 meters high and 20 meters wide and consists of 2 semi-arches that come together in the middle, formed by wind and water erosion. The name comes from the rock's shape, which is reminiscent of the traditional island cake called Koloc or Baskot.
There are many legends and stories related to this natural phenomenon, mostly involving the supernatural and the spiritual, like dancing fairies and elves (Baldrick might chime in on that one) and one legend says that anyone who passes under the bridge will be granted all their wishes. :-)
Kuznetsky Most is one of the most beautiful pedestrian streets in the historical center of Moscow.
The street got its modern - and at the same time historical - name thanks to the Kuznetsky Bridge across the Neglinnaya River. Today, Kuznetsky Most Street attracts citizens with its high-quality landscaping, an abundance of architectural monuments and an unusual relief: due to the significant difference in heights between Petrovka and Rozhdestvenka, the city landscape looks especially picturesque.
Kuznetskaya Sloboda on the high bank of the Neglinnaya River - Neglinnaya Upper - appeared in the 12th century, but its heyday came only at the end of the 15th, when the Cannon Yard was built in the vicinity, and the Moscow prince Ivan III ordered to settle in it blacksmiths and grooms who served new production. At the turn of the 15th-16th centuries, Novgorod and Pskov were annexed to the Moscow principality, and craftsmen of various professions from these cities were moved to the Neglinny Upper.
In 1737, the street burned out during the Trinity fire, but rather quickly new buildings were built on it, in which foreign shops began to be located. Gradually, the street turned into the abode of foreign trade: the French showed particular zeal, opening fashion and haberdashery shops here, thanks to which Kuznetsky Most became the main shopping street in Moscow. During World War II and the fire of 1812, it practically did not suffer from the fire, since the French guard took over the protection of the business of compatriots. After the war, trade flourished again, and many fashionable shops were opened on it (almost all of them were foreign, most of them were French). The abundance of foreign shops made Kuznetsky Most the most fashionable and aristocratic street in Moscow, which it remained until the 1917 Revolution.
During the Soviet era, the street lost part of the historical buildings, many buildings were rebuilt, and the street gradually took on a modern look.
After the reconstruction carried out in 2012, the Kuznetsky Most section from Bolshaya Dmitrovka to Rozhdestvenka became pedestrian.
Today Kuznetsky Most Street is a well-maintained pedestrian zone, where city holidays and festivals are often held.
Despite the losses of the Soviet years, a large number of architectural monuments have been preserved on it: tenement houses, partially preserved city estates and passages. Among them are famous Moscow sights: the building of the Moscow International Trade Bank, Khomyakov's trading house and others.
Small upright duck. Male is gray with a brown head, while the female is more heavily marked with pale marks on face. Nests in tree-hollows and can be quite noisy when perched up in the branches. Often abundant in urban parklands and grassy areas. (eBird)

So this is the south side of the Dutch Island Terschelling. A co-incidence that it was low tide where neat small islands popped up. The atmosphere with no wind and high temperatures made it a great summer feel. The next day I biked up here with my family, all was covered with seawater. Thanks all for your comments and favs
This castle is located in the middle of the Rhine near the town of Kaub.
At this castle the skippers had to pay toll in order to continue sailing. From this point on, the Rhine narrows significant and squeezes itself trough the valley "Middle Rhine" which is a world heritage from UNESCO. The current in this traject untill the town of Koblenz is very strong and there are treacherous shallows on the rocky bottom and that's why there were also taken river pilots on board.
Note the building of the castle, which has the shape of a ship to withstand the very strong current at high water and ice floes.

I have just spent the last four days in a tiny little town called Sea Lake, in the Mallee district of north-west Victoria, about 4 hours from where I live. The town is famous for the myriad and ever changing reflections found at the salty Lake Tyrrell.
I will include more information as I post images (of which there are very many!). I didn't know what to start with and as much as I hate posting photos of myself, this was the scene that greeted us when we first arrived and I think having someone in the image illustrates its claim to fame ( This was after several selfie attempts that just show gumboots!). The night sillouhettes are what the Asian tourist market fly across the world for.
