This is a trail on Land Trust land on Monte Sano in Huntsville, Alabama. The woods were well shaded, almost dark at times, humid, but generally cooler. The forest is rocky and calcareous. I would consider it moist, as there are a few ephemeral stream beds and one spring that winds its way perpendicular to the trail. Very few flowers were in bloom. I found Hairy Wood Mint - Blephilia hirsuta, Heart-leaved Skullcap - Scutellaria ovata ssp. bracteata, Wild Petunia - Ruellia caroliniensis, and Indian Pink - Spigelia marilandica, the latter two just one individual plant. Quite a few butterflies, all of them Little Wood-Satyr - Megisto cymela - as far as I could tell.
This is a photograph from the 4th Annual Multyfarnham (Multy) 5KM which was held in the village of Multyfarnham about 15KM west of Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 3rd June 2015 at 20:00. An incredible and unprecedented crowd of almost 300 participants took to the route including runners, joggers and walkers which was on an out-and-back course on beautiful country roads. The weather was perfect for racing and running. The fast course combined with the good weather conditions provided personal and seasonal bests for many of the participants. The GAA Club and Community Centre provided car-parking and the race headquarters. Overall this was a very well organised race event which on the evidence of tonight's race can grow even further in future years. As this and other photographs in this set shows there is nothing like an evening race in summer time in rural Ireland.
We have an extensive set of photographs from tonight in the following Flickr Album: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157653957377992

If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.
I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?
You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.
I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.
Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.
In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.
I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?
Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs
We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.
Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!
Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

This is a broken off tip of the female plant of the marine red alga Ceramium echionotum - Banded Pincer Weed - showing the tetrasporangia (egg producing areas) on the surface. When fertilised the sporophytes (zygotes) are released in to the water and float away to grow in to new plants, you can see three zygotes in the photo.
It is Ceramium echionotum because it has non-septate spines and the main axes are up to 300 μm in diameter, incompletely or completely corticated; periaxial cells 8–9; branching pseudodichotomous every 8–14 node. The tetrasporangia are formed on adaxial side, 1 per node.
Lava Gull (Leucophaeus fuliginosus) is a medium-sized gull and a member of the "hooded gull" group and is the rarest gull in the world. It is endemic to the Galapagos Islands. The adult plumage consists of a sooty brown to black head, which unlike other dark hooded gulls doesn't vary by season. Immature gulls are generally dark brown. The entire population lives on the Galapagos Islands where it is found predominantly on the islands of Santa Cruz, Isabela, San Cristobal and Genovesa / Punta Pitt is located on the northeastern corner of Isla San Cristóbal. The landing is a 300’ olivine beach with a trailhead that ascends to the top of a volcanic tuff passing through several natural viewpoints. The walking trail is nearly one mile; this is the only site in the Galapagos Islands, where you can watch the three species of boobies and two species of frigates nesting in the same area. The reason that there are three species of boobies at Punta Pitt is due to the geographic location: there is enough food so there is no competition between them. The Blue-Footed Booby (Sula nebouxii) nests in the interior (rarely on the cliffs), Red-Footed Booby (Sula sula) nests on bushes and Nazca Booby (Sula granti) nests along the cliffs. Volcanic Tuff is a type of rock made of volcanic ash ejected from a vent during a volcanic eruption. An Olivine beach is a beach with green tinge in the sand due to the large amount of green olivine crystals.
This is a photograph from the Mullingar Harriers "Pat Finnerty Memorial" 5KM Road Race and Fun run which was held in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 8th May 2019 at 20:00. This race follows on from the famous and well loved Mullingar Road League of years gone by which was held in Belvedere Gardens outside the town on every Wednesday in May. This league is now compressed to a once-off-race and the race started and finished at Mullingar Harriers' Training Facilities on the Clonmore Link Road. The course was a two loop, left handed course. Electronic timing was provided by MyRunResults.com. Over 100 people took part. The conditions were not ideal for 5KM running with a unseasonably cold evening with a stiff breeze.

This years June brought my first ever pride event at Boston Pride.
I had a great time, I can certainly say it was quite the show, and there is something overwhelming about seeing so many queers in the same place, comfortably.
It's a little breathtaking in a way, considering what I know of how our community has developed into the open.

Our history
Trinity Churchyard - Old view
Holy Trinity's story is a long one! The first known reference to Holy Trinity Church is in 1113. Its beginnings are tied in to the history of the Benedictine Priory of St Mary which was associated with Earl Leofric and Lady Godiva. The church appears to have originally been established next door to the Priory to act as a “side chapel” to the priory church and for the use of the priory’s tenants.
The original Norman church was all but destroyed in a fire in 1257. The North porch was the only part of the original building to survive and is still in use today. The rest of the church was entirely rebuilt during the 13th Century. The walls were brightly painted, helping those churchgoers who could not read to understand the messages of the bible.
One example of this ancient artwork still remains. During the 1430s, the painting of the Last Judgement was created above the tower arch to demonstrate the eternal consequences of both charitable and uncharitable acts. The painting has twice disappeared from view across the centuries but, after years of painstaking restoration, it was finally revealed in 2004. Find out more about the painting here.
The church underwent massive upheaval during the Reformation in the reigns of Henry VIII and his son Edward , losing most of its priests and many of its treasures.
The church has been made up of many interesting and passionate people across the years. There have been notable priests, ranging from the first vicar of the church, Ralph de Sowe, through John Bryan, who was deemed too non-conformist to remain in 1662, to the 19th century’s Rev Dr Walter Farquar Hook who, according to one parishioner, “set everything a-going”. He was responsible for, among other things, the establishment of a savings bank, an infant school, a dispensary and the beginning of evening services at the church.
A celebrated 18th century actress, Sarah Siddons, was married in the church in 1773 and Mary Ann Evans, the 19th century novelist better known by her pen name of George Eliot, attended Holy Trinity for many years.
Along with the whole of Coventry, Holy Trinity and its people experienced great trauma in November 1940, when German air raids laid waste to great areas of the city. The church was saved from destruction by the amazing commitment and bravery of the vicar at the time, the Rev Clitheroe. You can read more about Holy Trinity's blitz survival here.
Holy Trinity’s long story continues still, as a lively church, rooted in God’s love and with a passion to serve Coventry. It is a house of prayer for all, inviting everyone who enters to take time to experience the special peace that can be found in this place.
A blue moon is the "extra" full moon in years that have thirteen full moons. Most years have twelve full moons which occur approximately monthly, but in addition to those twelve full lunar cycles, each solar calendar year contains an excess of roughly eleven days compared to the lunar year. The extra days accumulate, so every two or three years (7 times in the 19-year Metonic cycle), there is an extra full moon. The extra moon is called a "blue moon." Different definitions place the "extra" moon at different times.

Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal after Lisbon and one of the major urban areas of the Iberian Peninsula.

City of Beloit Parks & Leisure Services first (annual?) "Dirty Dash" mud run for kids of all ages.

This is my first response to the 365Days Project Podcast mini challenge. I've only done a few of these so far, but they are pretty fun. This one is dealing with the rule of thirds and negative space. I have a tendency to usually ignore the rule of thirds. Particularly since I do a lot of architectural shots, I just don't believe that it always makes the shot better. (though I'd be curious to know what you all think!)
Anyways, I have been working on my project model today, and needed a break so I played a bit of frisbee with Bryan and Taylor C, then hacky sacked a bit (haven't done that in years!) by myself. I was all hot and sweaty by the end of it!

Norwegian Forest cat is a strong, robust breed that developed in the harsh-wintered areas of Northern Europe. Because of their hearty winter coat, they tend to change appearance quite drastically between seasons. The Wegie sports a silky flowing coat that can come in a variety of colors. This combined with their deep emerald color eyes makes them quite attractive. Norwegian Forest kittens are slow to develop and may not be mature until four years of age.
The Norwegian Forest Cat is a large, powerfully built cat with long hair, a full ruff, tufted ears and a bushy tail. The front legs are slightly shorter than the hind legs. It is a giant among cats, similar in size to the Maine Coon. The long outer coat is glossy and water-resistant, while the thick undercoat adds protection against the cold. The winter coat is even thicker than the summer one. Inevitably, this means a heavy moult once a year.
Norse legend describes this sturdy cat as mysterious and enchanting. Known in its native land as Norsk Skogskatt (Norwegian Forest Cat), its ancestors were Angora cats adopted by Viking sailors in the Near East to serve as rat-catchers, pets, and sometimes as ships' mascots.
Males are larger; females are considerably smaller. When showing these cats, the changing seasons must be taken into an account. The length and thickness of the fur vary considerably depending on the temperature. In summer, the only really long fur that remains is on the tail and the tufts in the ears and between the toes. The coat of the Norwegian Forest Cat is so dense that you need a generous amount of shampoo to make sure that the lather gets through the water-repellent guard hairs. The thicker hairs on the back make it almost waterproof. In winter, the undercoat is extremely thick.
Norwegian Forest Cat Personality The Norwegian is affectionate, confident, calm, and has a faithful nature. It loves the outdoors and is an efficient hunter. The "Wegie," as it is sometimes called, is hardy and self-sufficient and, if an outdoors cat, can endure temperatures of Norway's harsh northern climate.
Personality Norwegian Forest Cats love people and they are aggressive when they seek your attention. They do not like to be left alone for any length of time. They are highly intelligent and can be very rewarding companions as they are extremely friendly and playful. They are not your prototype lap cats.
Wegies, as they are sometimes called, clean themselves pretty well but still need weekly brushing and combing. Start combing at an early age. Norwegian Forest Cats get along very well with other cats and some dogs. When well socialized, the Norwegian Forest cat is very friendly and affectionate and is generally good with kids. They love to climb and frolic around the house. Their voice is a quiet meow. Wegies shed heavily in spring. A Norwegian forest Cat may look like a different cat after losing its long hair. Not to worry, it will grow back when the weather cools.

Lamarck – Caulaincourt is a station on Line 12 of the Paris Métro in the Montmartre district and the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The station opened on 31 October 1912 as part of a northward extension of the Nord-Sud company's Line A from Pigalle to Jules Joffrin. In 1930, the Compagnie du chemin de fer métropolitain de Paris (CMP) bought out the Nord-Sud company and renamed Line A to Line 12 in order to conform to the former's convention.
Station originally named Constantin Pecqueur, after the short street at the top of the entrance stairway, which in turn derives its title from the socialist economist of the same name.
subsequent names of the station:
Lamarck
Lamarck (Caulaincourt)
Rue Lamarck is dedicated to Jean-Baptiste Pierre de Monet, Chevalier de Lamarck (1744–1829), a French naturalist who is mainly remembered for his discredited theory of the inheritance of acquired traits. Rue Caulaincourt is named after the marquis Armand Augustin Louis de Caulaincourt (1773–1827), general, ambassador and Foreign Minister from 1813 to 1814.

This is a photograph from the 1st round of the 2015 Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 6th May 2015 at 20:00. This year the 5KM was ran on a modified route based on the route from the last couple of years. Tonight the final 1KM stayed within the Belvedere Gardens bringing runners down to the lakeside for a second time and finishing along the aptly named Stream Of Life. The route modification meant that the race offered a slightly faster route than the hill finish of previous years.
The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Over 350 people took part in tonight's event. The weather was perfect for running with sunshine with just a little breeze. The new finish area provided a nice space for runners to stay around and chat in the evening sunshine. The Mullingar Road League 2015 has started off successfully and looks to add to the success in the history of this great series.
The "Road League" is something of a misnomer but is an indication of the League's origins on the roads around Ladestown Mullingar prior to it's move into Belvedere in 2008. The Road League is the envy of many other races in the country as the Belvedere locations offers a completely traffic free 5KM route.
We have an extensive set of photographs from tonight in the following Flickr Album: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/16772614064/

Brim is a small town in the Wimmera region of Victoria, Australia.
It is 359km NW of Melbourne, on the Henty Highway. At the 2016 census, Brim had a population of 171.
The area was first settled by Europeans in 1846 when the Brim station was established on the banks of the Yarriambiack Creek. When the town was surveyed in 1890, it was laid out over part of the station cemetery. One grave, that of James Simson, is still in good condition on the side of the road now called Simson St.
The Post Office opened in 1890. The railway arrived in 1893 on the Murtoa-Hopetoun line. The railway station is no longer standing, but there are large grain silos on the railway station site, which are now adorned with silo artworks by artist Guido van Helten.
Me holding a Kenner and wondering if I could fit her in my hand bag!
She is ageing a lot better than me!!!
This is a long exposure of a broken bridge in a beach.
2 hours of shoot, 15 attempts for perfect shot, 1 and half hour of post processing is the above result. The result is what i envisioned in my mind even before i started my shoot. I wish there are clouds in the sky to add an extra pop to the picture.
I would like to thank Ram for helping me to make this shoot possible. Hope you like this image as much as i loved making it.

Antelopes. Red Hartebeest. Pilanesberg Game Reserve. South Africa. Jan/2021
Red Hartebeest
The red hartebeest (Alcelaphus buselaphus caama or A. caama) is a speciesof even-toed ungulate in the family Bovidae found in Southern Africa. More than 130,000 individuals live in the wild. The red hartebeest is closely related to the tsessebe and the topi.
Alcelaphus buselaphus caama is a large African antelope of the family Bovidae, one of ten subspecies; it is sometimes treated as a separate species, A. caama. Commonly known as the red hartebeest, it is the most colorful hartbeest, with black markings contrasting against its white abdomen and behind. It has a longer face that other subspecies, with complex curving horns joined at the base.[4] The average weight of a male is about 150 kg, and female is 120 kg. Their average shoulder height is 135 cm, and horns are 60 cm long. The life expectancy of a red hartebeest is around 19 years.[5] Little sexual dimorphism is noted between males and females, showing no distinct identifiable physical features, but body size is slightly affected. Horn size, however, expresses more dimorphism between males and females, as males fight and defend themselves for sexual selection. Thus, male skull weight and circumference is slightly greater than that of the female.[6] Hartebeests have an excellent sense of hearing and smell, although their sense of sight is poor. When alarmed, hartebeests elude confusion before running, by which they can reach a maximum speed of 55 km/h. Their evasion tactic is to run in a zigzag pattern, making it difficult for predators to catch them

Pilanesberg Game Reserve
The Pilanesberg Game Reserve is located north of Rustenburg in North West Province in South Africa. The park borders with the entertainment complex Sun City. The park is currently administered by the North West Parks and Tourism Board.
The area is fringed by three concentric ridges or rings of hills, of which the formation rises from the surrounding plains. Pilanesberg is named after a Tswana chief, Pilane, the 'Pilanesberg Alkaline Ring Complex' is the park's primary geological feature. This vast circular geological feature is ancient even by geological standards as it is the crater of a long extinct volcano and the result of eruptions some 1,200 million years ago. It is one of the largest volcanic complexes of its type in the world, the rare rock types and formations make it a unique geological feature. A number of rare minerals occur in the park.
Scattered throughout the park are various sites that originate from the Iron Age and Stone Age and show the presence of man from those periods in these areas.
The park has an area of 572 square kilometres (221 sq mi). One can travel through in a standard road vehicle as although most of the 188 kilometres of track are not surfaced, they are well maintained.
The Pilanesberg is not in a location which the Big Five animals would naturally inhabit, however they have been brought into the 550 square kilometres of African bushland

Yangon City Hall is the seat of the city's administrative body, Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC).
The building is considered a fine example of syncretic Burmese architecture, featuring traditional tiered roofs called pyatthat, and was designed by Burmese architect U Tin, who also designed Central Railway Station.
Construction began in 1926 and ended in 1936. The city hall occupies the former site of the Ripon Hall.
The city hall has been the focal point of several major political demonstrations, including a 1964 People's Peace Committee rally supported by Thakin Kodaw Hmaing, which attracted 200,000 people and was subsequently clamped down by the Socialist regime and the site of several bombings, including one in 2000, 2008, and 2009.
This one is Nikki's favorite Pixar movie so far although she really loves Wall-E. Being an amazing cook herself and what the experts call a "supertaster" this film was right up her alley...not to mention that both of us long to visit Paris.

We are committed to developing vital education programs that elevate, expand, modernize and enhance the image of collaboration and education today.
★WHAT IS THE DREAM ROCKET PROJECT?
The Dream Rocket Team is collecting nearly 8,000 artworks from participants around the globe. The artwork will be assembled together to create a massive cover in which will wrap a 37 story Saturn V Moon Rocket at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. We will also be displaying submitted artwork in dozens of national venues prior to the wrapping of the Saturn V. Additionally, we are posting images of submitted artwork & their stories on our Website, Flickr, and Facebook. The Dream Rocket project uses the Saturn V Moon Rocket as a symbolism of universal values of the human spirit. Optimism, hope,
caring for our natural resources, scientific exploration, and harnessing technological advancements for a better quality of life while safeguarding our communities, are all common desires across national and international boundaries. Participants are able to express and learn about these values through this creative collaboration. With the completion of each artwork, participants are asked to write an essay explaining their artwork, and the dream theme in which they chose.
★How can I Participate & Have my Artwork Displayed?
The Dream Rocket project would like to challenge you to ‘Dare to Dream’. To dream about your future and the future of our world through dream themes such as health, community, conservation, science, technology, space, peace, and so on. We would like you to use your selected Dream Theme to express, explore, and create your vision on your section of the wrap. We hope that you are able to express and learn through this creative collaboration. With the completion of each artwork, you are asked to write a brief essay explaining your artwork, and the dream theme in which you chose.
“The Saturn V is the ideal icon to represent a big dream. This rocket was designed and built as a collaboration of nearly half-a-million people and allowed our human species to venture beyond our world and stand on ANOTHER - SURELY one of the biggest dreams of all time. ENABLING THE DREAMS of young people to touch this mighty rocket sends a powerful message in conjunction with creating an educational curriculum to engage students to embrace the power of learning through many important subjects”

This is the "film d'essai" (test film) of my newly-arrived Rollei 35 (year 1973), Lyon, France, March 2, 2023,
After blank mechanical tests and a detailed inspection the day before, the Rollei 35 camera was loaded with a 36-exposure Fomapan Creative 200 film exposed for 200 ISO. Fomapan 200 is a regular panchromatic film sensitized in the red to 690 nm, a bit more than the common panchromatic films as Kodak Tri-X or Ilford HP5 with a cutoff around 650 nm. The 35mm perforated Foma film is coated on a regular cellulose acetate base tinted in grey-blue to avoid halation. Technical Foma data indicate that the nominal sensitivity is more around 160 than 200 ISO.
Expositions were determined using a Minolta Autometer III with a 10° finder for selective measurements privileging the shadow areas. Typically, 1/500s, to 1/125s, were used at f/8 to f/16. Most of the view were taken with a 24mm screwed Rollei filter "Gelb-Mittel" (medium yellow) fitted on the Tessar 1:35 f=40mm lens (Made by Rollei under a Carl Zeiss licence o ft the original Tessar lens for the Rollei 35). The coefficient "+1,5" of the medium yellow filter is equivalent to 0.5 stop.
March 2, 2023
69004 Lyon
France
After exposure, the film was processed using Adox Adonal (=Agfa Rodinal R09) developer at dilution 1+50, 20°C for 10 min.
The film was then digitalized using a Sony A7 body adapted to a Minolta Auto Bellows III and a Minolta Slide Duplicator using a lens Minolta Bellow Macro Rokkor 50mm f/3.5 at a reproduction ratio of 1:1. The reproduced RAW files obtained were processed in LR prior the the final JPEG editions.
All views of the film are presented in the dedicated album either in the printed framed versions and unframed full-size jpeg.
About the camera and the lens:
This original Rollei 35 is equipped of the collapsible 40mm Tessar lens "Made by Rollei" under Carl Zeiss licence who designed the first 1:3.5 f=40mm Tessar lens for the Rollei 35. Original Rollei 35 were manufactured by Rollei Franke & Heideke company originally in Germany starting year 1966 then later in Singapore until 1981. Originally, the build-in CdS cell was design by Gossen and the central shutter by Compur. Diaphragm and shutter are operated mechanically by two wheels on the front of the camera. The CdS cell is coupled to both. The Rollei 35 was a miniature 35 mm camera weighting around 320g, about 100g more than the Rollei 35 LED for instance with less mechanical parts. Overall more than 2 millions of Rollei 35 camera were produced over 15 years under different versions. According the serial number (3 410 XXX) of this chrome-plated camera was produced by Rollei Singapore between 01/1971 and 06/1973 and likely after 04/1973 due to the Tessar lens "Made by Rollei" instead of formally Carl Zeiss Tessar (ref : rollei35.eu/rollei35numbers.php#r35ge). It came with its original leather pouch, the wrist strap, a Rollei soft collapsible shade hood, Rollei 24mm screw-on UV and medium yellow filters, and the original user manual.
This is a collection of photographs from the 33rd running of the Dublin City Marathon - on Monday October 29th 2012 at 09:00. The event had over 14,000 participants which started in three separate wave starts. These photographs are of the three way starts and of the finish of the marathon - from a position on Nassau Street - from the winner until about the 3:40 finish time. The weather was very cold with a slight breeze in Dublin. The city of Dublin looked great, the support was amazing - this lived up to it's billing as 'The Friendly Marathon'. Congratulations to everyone who took part. This is an amazing event. Well done to everyone from the last person home to the first steward on the course.
There are some gaps in photographs. We may not have captured everyone in this time bracket.
THESE ARE COMPLETELY UNOFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPHS These are not linked in any way to the official race photography of the Dublin Marathon. We are in no way affiliated to the official photographers or their companies who offer photography services for the Dublin Marathon or Dublin Race Series. You will need to refer to the website of the Race Series or the Dublin Marathon for official photography.
Overall this is a very nice race - with a testing course. There was a really nice spread of refreshments afterwards provided by the GAA and the local community.

There is a board (in Turkish "Tarih") on the bridge, and there is the text written on the board. It is about unhappy love and sins.
"This bridge is called White Bridge, and it will serve to help people. The water that is flowing beneath it, will serve for the people's health! Passers-by, cross the bridge and cross it back. You will see that it was built for the good of every man. Muhamed, Mustafa, help the human Aisha the owner. Guardian, forgive the sins of the beautiful and good Aisha and the sins of her parents!"
Trelissick Garden is a garden in the ownership of the National Trust at Feock, near Truro, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom.
Trelissick Garden lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.
The garden has been in the ownership of the National Trust since 1955 when it was donated by Ida Copeland following the death of her son Geoffrey. A stained glass memorial bearing the Copeland Crest remains to this effect in Feock parish church. The house and garden had formerly been owned and developed by the Daniell family, which had made its fortune in the 18th Century Cornish copper mining industry.
Many of the species that flourish in the mild Cornish air, including the rhododendrons and azaleas which are now such a feature of the garden, were planted by the Copelands including hydrangeas, camellias and flowering cherries, and exotics such as the ginkgo and various species of palm. They also ensured that the blossoms they nurtured had a wider, if unknowing audience. Mr Ronald Copeland was chairman and later managing director of his family's business, the Spode china factory. Flowers grown at Trelissick were used as models for those painted on ware produced at the works.
The Copeland family crest, a horse's head, now decorates the weathervane on the turret of the stable block, making a pair with the Gilbert squirrels on the Victorian Gothic water tower, an echo of the family who lived here in the second half of the 19th century (their ancestor, Sir Humphrey Gilbert, was lost at sea in his tiny ship Squirrel after discovering Newfoundland).
The garden is noted for its rare shrubs. It offers a large park, woodland walks, views over the estuary of the River Fal and Falmouth.
Today is a beautiful August day on the Oregon coast, with so much to do its hard to know where to turn first. We started the day with a visit to the Newport Farmers Market where all produce is local...and all craft items are local and handmade as well. We met the most wonderful people here and I bought a wren house made of beach pebbles and driftwood as well as upcycled Tshirt scarves!! More about these scarves on my blog graffitigossip.com
Then off to Agate Beach at low tide for some tidepool gazing, and an incredible seafood lunch in Newport. Steves family has arrived now and we will most likely go play on the beaches and have dinner. Early to rise tomorrow for a fishing excursion

Above is a detail selected from the art for my short story in Weird Horror Tales.
The first reviews are coming in on the book:
“Among my favorite [stories],” wrote Tim Walters, “is ‘Wishful Thinking’, which opens, appropriately, on Halloween night and focuses on the frightening legend of Sara Lagle, also known as the Witch of Light's End. "Fall Guy" is about the day Light's End was visited by the Amazing Man who jumps off buildings. The tale effectively uses comic book imagery and allusions, which is not surprising since Michael Vance has a longstanding connection with and affection for the comics medium. At times Vance's wistful, evocative style is reminiscent of Ray Bradbury's fiction, while the often horrific nature of the series recalls the work of writers like H.P. Lovecraft and Robert Bloch. Michael Vance is a talented and underrated wordsmith... Tim Walters
“Each of the Light’s End stories is a snapshot of this strange town, ranging in time from its founding, through our time, and into the future. I’d classify them as speculative fiction with a touch of horror and an occasional touch of science fiction.”
“Seriously,” opines Greg Mitchell, “I thought the stories were really classy. Do you have any more Light's End stories? It's an incredible world and I'd love to read more!”
Daniel Weaver recently wrote: “You create a vivid scene that transplants the reader into a very specific time and place. There are plenty of unsettling images (bones, the monster, etc) as well as concepts (human sacrifice, cannibalism, etc). Allowing your main character to be partially swallowed by such a horrific creation certainly projects horrific imagery. As always, your word choices paint vivid pictures and bring to life unique characters. “
