This year I have stayed really close to home and decided to focus a lot of my shooting on the smaller details of the autumn season.
Little Ringed Plovers, Charadrius dubius.
Flamborough, East Yorkshire, England.
Another big crop.

This lovely spot is situated near the Amsterdam red light district. By exposing for the highlights, I was able to preserve the sense of intimacy.
Enjoy!

A spring day in Yosemite in 2022 went incredibly fast, but one day is better than none. I had hoped to go to higher elevations, but in early April, all those roads were still closed.
I have an aversion to iconic shots - so would never show the obvious compositions. I stumbled on a number of smaller scenes - this was one that caught my eye.
There always seems something special about the light in Yosemite - and the Sierra in general.
Backyard Garden Waterfalls
“There is a waterfall in every dream. Cool and crystal clear, it falls gently on the sleeper, cleansing the mind and soothing the soul.”
― Virginia Alison

I've been working on this one for awhile. I wanted to get it perfect just like seeing it through my own eyes all over again.
Finding this spot was incredible. It had begun to rain, the evening had moved in and the light was almost gone. I'm standing above this lake from the road in utter astonishment. It was SO silent. So still I could hear the quickening of my own breath. The lake looked like an oil painting of a mirror. Of a surface that called to be danced on while the last of the Autumn trees watched silently on. Like the elderly who watch the young people dance. A wistful almost sad like presence. Standing in the cold rain I was the intruder. I only hope to have done the moment justice...
Sossusvlei is famous for its adjacent Deadvlei. Thousands of images are to be seen of this place. At my umpteen visit to Sossusvlei I imposed a restriction on myself. Not to go to Deadvlei! I got out of the car and went the opposite direction with an exercise in mind: abstract and intimate images in the sand dunes of Sossusvlei. This was the last image shot on that morning.

For all you love birds out there...... (pun intended!!).
I captured a couple of Rainbow Lorikeets sharing a tender moment the other morning in my tree at home - hope you like this!
Thanks again for any comments, views or favorites - very much appreciated!
Have a terrific day and week everyone!
I'm going back to an image from my Iceland trip. Here's an intimate view of the beautiful Brúarfoss. Brúafoss is by far the best waterfall I've laid eyes on. The turquoise blue waters was hypnotizing. The location is just outright beautiful. I had to get an intimate image of these falls. I miss Iceland.
Stay tuned, I have a ton of new images coming in the future! Images from Zion, south central Utah, the Eastern Sierras, and LOTS of new images from Death Valley. Hope all you guys are good out there, peace and love to all, and continue to inspire each other.
