A small section from the top of Cliff Gilker Falls, becomes its own tiny world. A scaled-down version of the larger. The smooth flow of water in a "close encounter", becomes an elegant and dynamic landscape. The golden coloured rocks help define edges, while the water takes us on a small journey of its own.
Spring time in the park and there are a multitude of compositions. However, the rocky rim limits my movement, and has me teetering with caution. This somewhat personal or intimate landscape leaves me wondering about the minute worlds hidden from my view.

Wildlife photographer Joe Moreno recently visited Lake Clark National Park in Alaska to capture the remarkable Alaska Peninsula brown bears, often referred to as “peninsular grizzlies.” These majestic creatures are among the largest brown bears in the world, yet Moreno captures intimate moments that reveal their surprisingly gentle side.

I caught this couple on top of the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes in Death Valley a year ago. I watched them climb the massive sand dune and celebrate as they reached the top. It was a few moments later that the man took an image of his partner.
"Beneath the cascading blossoms and drifting petals,
an elf rests in quiet communion with the garden’s breath.
Here, where time folds into stillness,
the scent of old magic lingers in the moss,
and dreams root deep among the ferns.
He is not waiting—he is simply being,
a soft heartbeat in the hush of green."
