A little work of art that sat in a small open area by the side of the main road that glowed brightly in the early evening. Although angled to give a 'Starwars' effect, the letters were too misplaced to make any sense for me (not that I know any decent french).

SImilarly, I've recently discovered that when talkng about freshly laid concrete floors, going off is a good thing as that's what the floor needs to do in order to be ready to walk or work on. I think it essentially just means drying out / hardening. The same term, I gather, is used for concrete and related materials such as mortar and plaster, wherever they are used.

Here is my screed the morning after it was laid down. By this stage it had started to go off and was probably safe to walk on though I left it a couple more days before I tried.

In the background this photo also shows the first panel of insulation which has gone into the wall behind where the shower will be. The rest of the insulation and boarding will be done once the first fix plumbing and wiring are complete, but this one needed to be done first in order to pad out an alcove where the brickwork drops to single skin (this is where the outdoor cupboard used to be).
