Collaborative installation with Garrett Deiter. This piece was created in our garage and consisted of a variety of "20 something yr. old" items like a skate ramp, bike, kegerator (fridge designed to hold kegs), suitcase, plants, surfboard, and more. The point of this installation was to draw attention to the idea that all these objects really aren't anything important in the end, they're just things. And at certain times these things may seem so important or defining of our lives, but life is about much more then what we have. We chose to wipe this reality out.

Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present In the Abstract, a group exhibition curated by Dasha Matsuura featuring new works by Abel Macias, Ellen Rutt, Rachel Strum and Madeleine Tonzi. Each artist brings a fresh perspective to contemporary abstraction, from geometric shapes to the suggestion of surreal forms.
Ranging from the purely abstract patterns in Ellen Rutt's textile based works to the loose landscape references of Abel Macias' work, each of the artists featured express intangible moments in each piece. Rachel Strum's (pictured above) work blaze in a riot of color and texture, creating a cosmic depth in each color field. Working with reclaimed and scrap textiles, Ellen Rutt engages the tradition of quilting in times of crisis to create fluid patterns and bold compositions.
Punctuating her works with points of entry, Madeleine Tonzi's paintings float across blush toned planes dotted with surreal architectural structures. Abel Macias' gestural paintings examine texture and pattern while intimating a natural space and visualizing a warm summer breeze. Each of the artists featured creates a non- specific space for the viewer to pour into.

At the Table is a group exhibition that explores our intimate and communal relationships with food and investigates the many ways these connections were severed or challenged during the 2020-21 lockdown triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through artworks, documentary photography, recorded narratives, and ephemera, this exhibition creates space for reflection on the role food plays in our lives as individuals and in our communities and traces the effects of the pandemic on the ways we interact with and consume food.
Artworks and documentation on view will use food as both subject and material to speak to and create community, examine personal histories and narratives through ingredients and culinary traditions, and respond to social injustices related to food production and distribution.
The artists, projects, and collaborations included in the exhibition are Jackie Amezquita, Champions Feed Champions presented by the Inglewood Community Fridge, domingo presented by The Crenshaw Dairy Mart and The Mistake Room, Yrneh Gabon, Yeu “Q” Nguyen, Francisco Palomares, and alvaro parra.

Local students from a local North Country School met with Soldiers assigned to the Mountain Training Group, 10th Mountain Division for a STEM career demonstration hosted at STARBASE Jan. 24, 2025 on Fort Drum, New York. “Becoming” is the theme for the second edition of the Colombo Art Biennale is held from 15th February 2012 to 19th February 2012 at Park Street Mews, J.D.A. Perera Gallery and National Art Gallery. Colombo Art Biennale includes paintings, installations, photos, performance, audio and video presentations. Many art talks also held during the five day festival of art.
39 artists from Austria, Australia, Bangladesh, Germany, India, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Sweden and Sri Lanka participated in the festival of art.
