“Becoming” is the theme for the second edition of the Colombo Art Biennale is held from 15th February 2012 to 19th February 2012 at Park Street Mews, J.D.A. Perera Gallery and National Art Gallery. Colombo Art Biennale includes paintings, installations, photos, performance, audio and video presentations. Many art talks also held during the five day festival of art.
39 artists from Austria, Australia, Bangladesh, Germany, India, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Sweden and Sri Lanka participated in the festival of art.

Large collaborative installation with Garrett Deiter in Montana De Oro State Park. Letters consisted of seaweed and driftwood and were appx. 20 ft. tall. The concept was based around the idea of creating an impact on people in a place that has a big impact on our lives. This is where Garrett surfs, I run, and people enjoy the beautiful Central coast, so for us we wanted to make an ecofriendly installation that stopped people to think about how this place had made an impact.
I will be using them for all my electrical needs, and highly recommend this company. Thanks again for all you did.

Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to present Homeward Bound the debut solo exhibition of Oakland-based artist Christopher Martin. Utilizing the visual vernacular of traditional American tattooing, Martin interweaves imagery from the African Diaspora, his own mythology and iconic navy tattoos to create bold banners and paintings.
Working across mediums including tattooing, textile and painting, each facet of Christopher Martin’s practice informs the others. Imagery commonly found in traditional sailor tattoos are prevalent influences for the current body of work featured in Homeward Bound. The history and superstition embedded in archetypical nautical motifs such as anchors, mermaids and animals are re-coded to reflect the history and stories of the African American experience.
The reclamation of cotton as a primary medium, applied in the large-scale tapestry works and the fiber based paintings on paper, reflect the Atlantic slave trade and the artist’s North Carolina roots. Steeped in Southern and Black history, Christopher Martin’s work layers the confrontation of contemporary injustice and folkloric storytelling to create a new lexicon for black culture.

Have you ever experienced your love rejected? In this case, I just can't connect the life & neutral cable to the main fuse breaker into extent I almost giveup. I spend bloody 4 hours just to install it. And I never curse so much in my live. :P
