Last year, I started a tradition of doing a minifig family portrait for Christmas. We've been including these on the inside of our custom "bigfigs" (and usually quite involved) holiday cards we send out to family and friends.

This year we went simple with everything on just a white background, and following suit, I did the same for our minifig family. The typeface is what my wife designed for the card itself.

The extended family seems to get a kick out of how much they look like us and I'm excited for them to see what I came up with for my son who was just an infant last year (or at minifig scale, just a head in a bucket LOL)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's to all my Flickr friends!

In order to make your strings cry a true sentiment, you have to feel it inside.

Trust me on this one: every note of her music would go through your every pore, deep under your skin.

One of the things I love about this girl is that the same eyechips in different positions can create such drastically different expressions.

" Dicen que a lo largo de nuestra vida tenemos dos grandes amores;

Os libraréis de él o ella,dejaréis de sufrir,conseguiréis encontrar la paz(le sustituiréis por calma),pero os aseguro que no pasará un día sin que deseéis que estuviera aquí para perturbaros;

Porque,a veces,se desprende más energía discutiendo con alguien a quien amas,que haciendo el amor con alguien a quien aprecias." Paulo Cohelo.

Masjid Negara – National mosque

The ultra modern mosque, with its design based upon the Grand Mosque in Mecca, with 48 smaller green domes dotting the courtyard, and one large blue tiled dome. It has a large capacity of 15,000 people and is surrounded by lush greenery which expands to a 13-acre land (53,000 m2). Around the compound are many reflecting pools and fountains.

The mosque was actually built on the site of a church in 1965. The original structure was designed by a three-person team from the Public Works Department: UK architect Howard Ashley, and Malaysians Hisham Albakri and Baharuddin Kassim.The mosque has been standing firm on its grounds since then and is now deemed as an important symbol of the Islamic country of Malaysia.

The best features of the mosque are the 73 meters ( 240ft) high minaret and its 18 pointed star which is its main roof. The main roof's design was inspired from the idea of an open blue umbrella while the minaret is like a folded umbrella. The roof symbolizes the 5 pillars of Islam and the 13 states of Malaysia.

The building itself includes a hall, a mausoleum, a library, offices, an open courtyard.

The mausoleum, situated at the rear of the mosque, stands in a circular reflecting pool and is connected to the main building by a covered foot-bridge. It is circular in shape and is covered by a pleated shell concrete dome similar in shape to that of the Grand Hall but with only seven folds, one of which covers a reserve for the national hero’s tomb.

Non-muslims are welcome, however there is a different entrance for “tourists” and of course there are set hours around the prayer times. Special purple hooded cloaks are provided if you are not appropriately dressed.

Near the main prayer hall, there are volunteers who would be more than willing to explain the history and some information about the building and the religion to you.

Ramses, the cat, and his buddy Henry, the giraffe, are looking very good together. They were posing quite nicely too as Ramses was tired and Henry didn't have much choice. :)

So here's the thing. I have only been taking photos for a little over a year now. I have always loved photography, but have never considered myself a photographer. Probably never will. I still refer to myself as a shutterbug. There's nothing wrong with that. So here's my rant. I'm pretty sure my pictures have been used without my permission. If anyone here thinks that they are safe, well, bless their heart. I have been asked by several people if they may use my photos for this or that and I always agree. I think it's an honor to just be considered. One of my photos was used by Moo for an upcoming mail-out. I was super stoked about that. I received my package in the mail a few days ago containing the samples. The few people I have shown have asked me if I am getting paid. I do not sell my pictures, although I do have an Imagekind account that I haven't updated in months. I have only sold three photos and they were bought by the same person. Thanks Jeff! Back to my rant. Is it wrong that I agree to have people use my photos with nothing more than a link to the photo or my stream? I don't think so. I think it is super cool that anyone would be that interested honestly. So yeah. Don't worry. You won't be seeing watermarks on my photos in the future. I was just making a point. Point being that I have no point. : )

Hey look! Jelly beans!

.... WITH THE MEDITERRANEAN SUN INSIDE....

....

ASPIC

is a dish in which ingredients are set into a gelatin made from a meat stock or consommé. Non-savory dishes, often made with commercial gelatin mixes without stock or consommé, are usually called gelatin salads.

When cooled, stock that is made from meat congeals because of the natural gelatin found in the meat. The stock can be clarified with egg whites, and then filled and flavored just before the aspic sets. Almost any type of food can be set into aspics. Most common are meat pieces, fruits, or vegetables. Aspics are usually served on cold plates so that the gel will not melt before being eaten. A meat jelly that includes cream is called a chaud-froid.

Nearly any type of meat can be used to make the gelatin: pork, beef, veal, chicken, turkey, or fish. The aspic may need additional gelatin in order to set properly. Veal stock provides a great deal of gelatin; in making stock, veal is often included with other meat for that reason. Fish consommés usually have too little natural gelatin, so the fish stock may be double-cooked or supplemented. Since fish gelatin melts at a lower temperature than gelatins of other meats, fish aspic is more delicate and melts more readily in the mouth.

Vegetables and fish stocks need gelatin to maintain a molded shape.

♨ ♨ ♨RECIPE ♨ ♨ ♨

for 10 persons

♨ INGREDIENTS

- 12 dl of orange juice

- 1 kg of fresh canned fruit

- 5 spoons of kirsch

- 10 sheets of isinglass

♨PROCEDURE

- VERY IMPORTANT STEP: PUT THE FRUIT DRY

(you can do this step using kitchen paper or a soft dish cloth)

- While the fruit will be getting dried,

you can prepare the jelly:

-- put the isinglass in cold water for 5 minutes till it will be soft;

-- put it into a pot with 6 spoons of the sirup (orange juice + 5 spoons of kirsch) and put it on the fire for some minutes, till the jelly will disappear into the sirup;

-- Add to this all the rest of the sirup (orange juice + 5 spoons of kirsch)

and put it in the refrigerator;

- put the fruit into a bun mold in the way you prefer (please, take in your mind that at the end you will see the whole fruit composition - I suggest you to begin to put the fruit starting from the mold perimeter)

-- when you have finished..... pour the sirup (orange juice + 5 spoons of kirsch + isinglass) on the fruit composed in the mold so that it will fill all free spaces leaved by the fruits;

-- PUT IN THE REFRIFERATOR FOR AT LEAST 3 HOURS;

♨SERVING WITH CREAM

(if you wish you can fill the hole in the middle with cream and fresh fruits)

The inscription above the entrance of Panthéon reads : "AUX GRANDS HOMMES LA PATRIE RECONNAISSANTE" ( "To great men, the grateful homeland").

You can notice a coffin at the far back. I took this shot without framing as I had to get the camera through a fence door in the dark, not knowing what was going to come out on the picture..

By burying its great people in the Panthéon, the nation acknowledges the honour it received from them. As such, interment here is severely restricted and is allowed only by a parliamentary act for "National Heroes". Similar high honours exist in Les Invalides for historical military leaders such as Napoléon, Turenne and Vauban.

Among those buried in its necropolis are Voltaire, Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Émile Zola, Jean Moulin, Louis Braille, Jean Jaurès and Soufflot, its architect. In 1907 Marcellin Berthelot was buried with his wife Mme Sophie Berthelot, the first woman to be interred.

Musée-monument du Panthéon is included in the Paris museum pass.

Please leave comments detailing your experiences with these beers (if any)! I'm always curious to see what opinions people have about craft beers.

While the outside of the Chicago Bean reflects the skyline and surrounding plaza, the inside gives a kaleidoscopic image of all the people milling about beneath. At first glance, this reminded me of a giant MRI scan of the body.
