Health benefits
Pears are rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, E1, copper and potassium. Pears are the least allergenic of all fruits. Because of this, it is sometimes used as the first juice introduced to infants. Along with lamb and soya formula, pears form part of the strictest exclusion diet for allergy sufferers.
Pears can be useful in treating inflammation of mucous membranes, colitis, chronic gallbladder disorders, arthritis, and gout.
Pears can also be beneficial in lowering high blood pressure, controlling blood cholesterol levels, and increasing urine acidity.
They are good for the lungs and the stomach.
Most of the fiber is insoluble, making pears a good laxative. The gritty fiber content may cut down on the number of cancerous colon polyps.
Most of the vitamin C, as well as the dietary fiber, are contained within the skin of the fruit.

Do you know that there is something very funny about this photo? Yep, my calves made me feel bad when I was a teenager, too much muscle.
I went a private school and I had to wear a kilt with socks so my calves seemed fatter, ahh, I had to bare the typical cruel and skinny girls telling me that I my legs were more muscle than Maradona legs.
The good thing is that I am a 40 years old woman and I still have muscular calves and it is a good thing now.
This is one Stinky Old Photograph: This photo was taken a while back and the amount of camera gear I have has grown by leaps and bounds (not sure yet if this is a good or bad thing). You can see the new gear photo by going here.
Original Desc: Well here it is, my camera gear...all indivudally noted and all strewn out for the world to see. 90% of it was bought in the last 10 months. It all fits in the camera bags at the top and the bags are normally packed to the brim with the gear.
My wife is a very patient and kind soul but I think I'm at the limit for a good long while, when I was arranging this stuff on the bed to take photo of it in our guest room she just about snapped seeing everything laying there. If I buy much else I will probably be justifiably shot, so if I stop suddenly posting to Flickr you'll know I likely got a new piece of gear and was subsequently killed.
I enjoy a number of hobbies (music, cars, cycling, camping, boating, technology and more), but one of the things I like about photography is it's a hobby that can be incorperated into every other hobby and aspect of life. In photography I've found something that I really, really enjoy and is a way I can have a semi-creative outlet for my soul. But as cool as photography is, music is still my main passion and I think that's the way it will always be...
NOTE: This photo made it into Flickr's 'Explore" as one of the top five hundred most interesting photos on a particular day. You can see all of my photo's that have made it into the Flickr Explore pages here.

This is the oldest documented church in downtown Munich, first mentioned in a document dated around 1225/26. It was expanded several times, went from Romanesque style through late Gothic style to its final appearance in late Baroque style.
The church was nearly completely destroyed during the allied bombing raid of February 25th 1945, reconstruction after World War II was only completed in 2000 with the final reconstruction of the ceiling frescoes.

While folding another of my new pattern of my Block-tessellation serie I used thicker paper and because of that and the density of the pattern this bowl-shape arose ;-)
On the left you see the pattern from the outside and on the right the inside.
Here you can see a different view of my origami tessellation "Bricks".
I found (independently) a variation of the "Wall" of Momotani and I'm probably not the first one, correct me please when I'm wrong.
Folded from 21x21cm greenish Japanese paper, with some golden en silver dots in it.

Looking north along the tracks of the abandoned S-Bahn station "München Olympiastadion". Last train was 1988... - 38 years ago...
The station was built especially for the 1972 Summer Olympics held nearby. After the Olympic Games ended, the station was used only if football matches were held at the Olympic Stadium. In 1988 operations ceased finally, since then the station is left for decay - despite being a listed building as part of the Olympic ensemble.

In this age of consumerism we are not longer in control of our own preferences. The driver's seat belongs to mass marketing and media campaigns that specializes in creating a necessity when there is none. All this while we just sit tight waiting to be told what should be considered good or bad, cool or uncool.
