Mevagissey nestles in a small valley and faces east to Mevagissey Bay. The inner and outer harbours are busy with a mixture of pleasure vessels and working fishing boats, the remains of a once major industry. The village centre consists of narrow streets with many places to eat and shops aimed at the tourist trade. The outer areas are built on the steep slopes of the surrounding hillsides and are mostly residential.
The first recorded mention of Mevagissey dates from 1313 (when it was known as Porthhilly), although there is evidence of a settlement dating back to the Bronze Age.
When churches, even from wildly different contexts, seek to work together: fun things can happen. This fortnight in Hungary and Romania is the result of that, with the following 10 images cultivated memories and a sample of our surroundings.
Ashley and I had been to Budapest before, over 14 years ago though. My main photographic objective was to get back up to Gellért Hill for a panorama, and we were rewarded with a.) lovely skies and b.) a very recently completed Citadel from which it was very pleasant to enjoy the view. All around a brilliant night scooting down the hill and across the city with the gang.
This is 32 frames stitched into a 24:9 panorama. The scene is portrayed fairly realistic - I shot a phone video at the same time to compare.

Inns of Court, in London: group of four institutions of considerable antiquity that have historically been responsible for legal education. Their respective governing bodies, the benches, exercise the exclusive right of admitting persons to practice by a formal call to the bar. They consist of the Inner Temple and Middle Temple (both housed within the area known as The Temple), Lincoln’s Inn, and Gray’s Inn—all of which are located in the general vicinity of the Royal Courts of Justice, at the boundary between the City of London and Westminster.

The new Hafen City continues to spring up out of the ground at an amazing pace and in impressive style - the harbour on one side and backdropped against the venerable canal warehouses on the other.

Saw this masterwork of debris today on a walk. Once the inner of a bath or kitchen (you can see the tiles and the light switch) it's today a wall of an public open-air parking place
Is there a difference between happiness and inner peace? Yes. Happiness depends on conditions being perceived as positive; inner peace does not.

Inner peace is a rarer commodity these days. There are so many horrible things happening and there is a feeling of being powerless to stop them. We do what we can, and then do a little more. Spending time in nature helps. In the back of my mind I am very aware that it's a luxury that people in Gaza, the Ukraine, and others do not have as a respite.
