View of Des Moines, Iowa from the 30th street bridge. The downtown area is about 2 miles away and therefore I played with detail in distance.
The tall building on left is 801 Grand and the dome building on right is the State Capitol.
This is still not the shot I am after and looks like it needs to be a late afternoon to achieve the best image, but for now it will do. I have visited this many times - sometimes no trains and sometimes too many - so I know someday I will find the exact image. Also, there is a steel wire fence one must shoot through. This was from an opening about 6 inches off the ground where I could get the lens through.

On ne peut pas imaginer plus odieux - allez tous à Strasbourg pour faire du tourisme et demandez à voir l'Aubette... une horrible absurdité qui préfigure un certain futur qu'on ne veut pas... il n'y a pas encore les cartes d'identité magnétiques... pour rentrer... mais c'est dans l'esprit! C'est le même genre quoi!

We tried to find our way to track level at Skyline Trestle without success so had to settle for this view. Looking at Google Maps later in the trip we learned that access is a dirt road up hill from the trestle.
Flint Creek empty KCS Train C-FLKC-07 is coming up KCT Track 74 at Penn Avenue as UP Train ITAME3 04 heads east on Track 75. The KCS train will become UP Train CFKNA 08 here at KC after the Union Pacific crew hops on in a few minutes.
