And now for something COMPLETELY different: We took part today in the official River Parade in honour of HM Queen Elizabeth II 90th Birthday which took place between 11am and 1pm on the river Thames going both ways from Tower Bridge to Houses of Parliament and then back to Tower Bridge. On the return part Tower Bridge was pulled up fully open for the participants of the parade. Here I am looking back towards the Bridge.

Embarcadero Center is a commercial complex of five office towers and two hotels on a 9.8-acre (4.0 ha) site located off the Embarcadero in the financial district of San Francisco, California.

Developed by Trammell Crow, David Rockefeller and John Portman, construction began with Tower One in 1971, with the last off-complex extension, Embarcadero West, completed in 1989.

The 4.8 million square feet (445,900 m²) complex accommodates offices for 14,000 people along with mixed-use areas accommodating retail, dining, entertainment and cinema functions.

What took me in was the light bathing the rustic boardwalk and waters. The lichen/moss on the wood popped and the sweet salty smell was up in the air.

Prince's Island Bridge

Prince's Island Bridge connects Prince's Island with Sunnyside, an innercity community in Calgary, located on the north side of the Bow River.

It's a part of the pathway and hiking trail system lining both sides of the river. From here one has a great view on the Calgary skyline.

A classic view of Sydney from Milsons Point, near the entrance to Luna Park. It's the ideal spot for a sunrise shot, but it was miserable and wet that morning. I know - I was there. So I made a second trip back for sunset and it was still pretty good.

The almost 2km long bridge with a main span of 1013 meters crosses the Tagus river in Lisbon. It was opened in 1966 and Its design is based on that of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The bridge deck is 70m above the water.

Cádiz

The bridge of the Constitution of 18125 (originally called the Pepa bridge) is a cable-stayed bridge that crosses the bay of Cádiz, giving access to Cádiz from the mainland, being the third access to the city, after the link by the Isthmus of San Fernando and the Carranza bridge. The bridge is the continuation of the Southern highway, forming an integral part of the Access highway to Cádiz, being responsible for it by the Ministry of Development of the state government. The board is divided between the dual carriageway (two lanes in each direction) and another carriageway reserved for public transport.

The bridge began construction in 2008 and was opened on September 24, 2015.6 Once opened, it became the brightest bridge in Spain at 540 meters. Considering the cable-stayed bridges, it would be the third brightest bridge in Europe, after the Normandy bridge (856 m) and the Rio-Antirio bridge (three 560 m spans). The total work consists of the bridge over the bay, with a total length of 3,092m, 1,440 of which over the water, plus the 796m Río San Pedro Viaduct. With the accesses to the bridges, the work extends over 5 km.

The project was written by the engineer Javier Manterola and has been carried out by the Spanish company Dragados. The total cost of the project was 511 million euros.7
