We reached our third camp place in Pamaccahuana pretty early, before 12 PM. We anticipated this half-free day in advance. It was a reward for extra miles on the second day.

This donkey completely ignored me when I approached him in our camp. But during the night he was seeking closer contact with us, stepped couple of times on our tent and dropped some feces on it.

The Inka Trail got used as a communication system for the Incas to run from one place to another in the humongous Inca Empire which stretched from south Colombia to north of Argentina. There are different Inca trails to hike, but this one is the most famous Inca trail and it will take you from Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, through beautiful landscapes and different archaeological Inca sites.

Guido told us that last time he was here the ruins were closed for visitors. I really hoped it wouldn't be the case the day we were there, but alas - the entrance was blocked with wooden shield, so we obediently doddered downhill from the walls.

Yesterday's hearty dinner didn't prevent us from enjoying generous breakfast.

Regardless of what the building served for, the look is really impressive from this point.

On some intervals steps become noticiably larger than on others. It makes these parts more difficult for hiking.
