Peru 2005 - Inca Trail

Photos from my 4-day Inca Trail trek in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Read my story of the Trail here.

We had plenty of time after lunch, and decided to walk some pretty trail that ascended the valley's right slope.

Not only good looking, but tastes also good! Our cook Chucho knew his business very well. Of course, there was another important factor - we were spending a lot of energy hiking in the mountains several hours every day. Talking of this particular dish - I didn't leave a piece on my plate, to great surprise of our guide. In his opinion, the rose flower made of tomato peels was not edible at all...

Note another Inca ruin on the slope of the mountain in the right hand corner. That's Intipata, where some of the later photographs are taken

I don't know the name of the flowers, but they are the only blossoming plants on the height of Inca Chiriaska Pass.

That's our camp site. The only bad thing about this place was the chickens running around, and the roster who waked us up in the morning.

Our group of 9 hikers from Chile, Armenia, Canada, Holland and USA made the 4 day hike to Pachu Picchu together.
