I saw this row of mannequins in front of a downtown Vancouver restaurant, 6 Degrees Eatery.

This scene reminds me of a CAA incident I had a few years back. I wonder how much the tow costs in this case and if they split the bill three ways. A hard lesson if you run out of wind and don't have a motor it's basically the same as running out of gas.
I should explain - these three dinghies are part of the SOSA sailing school here in Summerland. I went there for several years before buying my 26 foot Catalina - since sold. I was surprised to see them heading so far up on the northern end of the lake heading toward Kelowna - usually we just cross to the other side and back again. Well apparently their adventure came to an abrupt end when the wind died - no way back without a tow and by the looks of the sail reflections in the water, that wind is not about to return any time soon.

Happy Macro Mondays
(the props didn't survive the shoot)
I'm not sure what train this is but I saw the same power doing the same thing two days in a row so I suspect it's a local transfer job of some sort. At any rate, this pair of UP Deuces is heading north out of Fort Worth and soon to go over the Trinity River. 5/18/18

Extreme Panorama, 12 vertical photos, of a group of 3 trees (2 really but I thought the 3rd was needed to balance it a bit) in the forest at Auchincruive when we were there for a walk and coffee.... using my newest lens the Viltrov 56mm f1.7
As mentioned, back in the day this was my Inventory made up of some 40 million floral stems sold per year.
Our best-selling Stock flowers blessed the whole valley with their fragrance.

A blister pack of forgotten supplements found in the back of the cupboard. Taken for Macro Mondays 'In A Row' theme.
The cormorants are almost done migrating through our area as they head southward for the winter.
I found these four resting on an old jetty, taking a break from their 1 to 2 thousand-mile journey. I'm always amazed that birds are able to complete their arduous trek twice a year. The stamina and drive required for the migration is extraordinary!

I am a bit slow posting lately. I am exhausted from doing not much. I was told when I moved in that my unit was testing positive for a long time for Meth Amphetamine but was safe to live in now.
I recently found out that the unit I am in was a Meth Lab twice in a row. I did raise it with my housing person a while ago asking if they where being fully honest with me about things as my health has not been good. All I got back was silence. This coupled with many other things leaves me now trying to figure out how to get some samples tested at the property I am in and seeking legal advice.
I had a great time yesterday apart from the pain while out looking for subjects.
This Australian Native Bee was a lovely find. An amazing sight to see.

my beloved SIL dearheart, parkerriverkid, suggested that i could try a rule of thirds crop with the HS sailing teams' sailboats being in the middle third. i like it!!
*AND* the board of health tested the lake waters and pronounced it safe for activities as the blue-green algae bloom is gone or at least not a factor. YAY!!

I have posted three shots in a row of this family. The first one was the mother on the chase that ended badly for the cheetah family, but good for the prey.
The next was two of the young males chasing a baby impala. It was obvious that that was going to end badly for the impala, which it did.
The third was two of the young males not willing to share.
This is the same family later in the same day. The mother killed this adult Thompsons Gazelle and she is now attempting to drag it to safety away from leapoards and iions.
Clearly the young males have already had a taste and aren't much willing to wait any longer.

Second day in a row this Osprey came in and landed in a tree that overlooks the pond, same branch, same time. I will look for him/her again tonight.
A second take on processing this famous nebula...
This is a large object in the sky! The field of view of this image is 3.5 degrees. If you could put a string of full moons in a row you could fit 7 across here. This is my first time using two 200mm lenses. One with a color and the other with a monochrome camera with narrowband filters. I only have 2 of the three narrowband filters I need... still waiting for my Sulphur filter so I can try to get Hubble colors...
from science.nasa: "Caldwell 20 is a stunning example of an emission nebula. The clouds of gas that make up the nebula are being ionized by a nearby star, causing the gas to glow as it emits energy. Colors emitted by emission nebulae depend on the chemical composition of the region. The reddish color that is characteristic of hydrogen and dominates Caldwell 20."
