This family of Red-necked Grebes (Podiceps grisegena) is on Lake Ontario just off Bronte Beach in Oakville, Ontario. The nest in Bronte Marsh had five eggs. Two had hatched on June 3 and the four were all hatched by June 6. The nest was vacated on June 7 and the family relocated to the better fishing on the lake.
July 8 update: They are all still in the area but normally too far offshore for photography. They are sometimes as far west as Bronte Cemetery.

I'm not entirely happy with this one - I wish I had used a narrower aperture to get sharper focus on all the petals, but it's turned out OK
My first idea for next macro monday before I've read the additional rule that I have to arrange the row by myself. So I used the photo for Sliders Sunday :-).
p.s. Happy Sliders Sunday to all flickr friends
This city has extremely beautiful old houses, it was a great surprise to see so much beauty in Braunschweig. Germany
Row of trees lining the side of a corn field being irrigated. The long irrigation machine is pretty cool, it has these giant wheels on it and it actually rolls right across the field.
