5 business men holding briefcases standing in a row and looking up to something

I'm not a big sports fan, but I really like going to basketball games. This is the fifth win in a row for Toronto's Raptors.

Woohoo!

Just a few more miles east on US 67 and you come to your second "Mount" in a row, this one is quite pleasant :).

Have a great creative day!

We got less than an inch last night, but the real stuff is supposed to come tomorrow. Campus and county schools are all closed in anticipation of the storm.

Round 6 of the CHNL saw a depleted Hepburn take on Creswick. For the 2nd week in a row the Burra’s were forced to line up with 2 players out injured. Confident in their squad, the competition leaders tried various line ups throughout the game until they quickly settled. Captain Libby Purtell at Goal Attack was instrumental in providing Hepburn with plenty of options in attack. Purtell maintained her 100% accuracy throughout the first half and was supported brilliantly by sharp shooter Jane Lienhop at Goal Shooter.

Creswick managed to keep the mid-court battle alive by providing sharp drives to the circle; however the Burra’s defensive pressure in the circle from Ebony Place saw the ball turned over time and time again. The junior of Hepburn’s team,18 year old Tara Ford clocked up her 150th game for the club in great style at Goal Defence. Ford seems to be taking every opportunity in seniors to develop her game with the help of Place at Goal Keeper. However it was wing attack Brydie Taig that stood up to the challenge and lifted the Burra’s confidence. Taig was named Hepburn’s best on court thanks to her speed and sharp feeding into the circle. Hepburn ran out winners 53 to 17.

The Mo Shepherd award went to Hannah Cameron-Taylor and Libby Purtell for outstanding work.

Hepburn’s reserves were also focussed on keeping their unbeaten run to the finals alive. The Burras got off to a shaky start as they tried to adjust to Creswick’s style. Moving Janee Brown into Centre in the second quarter was all it took to lift the Burras confidence and provide a 24 to 9 lead at half time.

Courtney Wetzel at Goal Defence, Kristi Pedretti at Goal Keeper and Caitlan Ryan at Wing Defence stepped up in the second half and kept Creswick scoreless until the final minutes of the game. Wetzel provided one of her best games of netball this year getting her hands on ever pass that came her way. Final scores Hepburn 53 to 13.

The Mo Shepherd award went to Caitlan Ryan and Janee Brown

www.brooklynmuseum.org/opencollection/objects/3544/Statue... Statue of Nykara and his Family

This family statue depicts Nykara, who was a scribe of the granary, seated between the standing figures of his son, Ankhmara, and his wife, Khuen-nub. Beneath the central part of Khuen-nub's short wig, her natural hair is indicated by horizontal lines and a row of stylized curls. The boy's nakedness, sidelock of hair, and finger-to-mouth gesture indicate that he is very young, but he is depicted as the same height as his mother. And, if Nykara were shown standing, he would tower over his two companions. Although Old Kingdom group statues often show the man on a larger scale, this particular composition seems also to reflect the sculptor's desire to show all three heads in a row.

bad iphone self picture.... sorry. was so tired and had a bad hair day!

15 random facts about myself.... as everything seems to be random in my life, i guess it should be an easy task....

1. i never plan anything.... everything just happens in my life. Thank you CHAOS for being so kind with me!!! honestly! i am much too compulsive to plan anything properly!

2. one of my favorite activities (inactivity) is daydreaming. i could do it all the time. day and night (it would be called nightdreaming then). when not daydreaming, i like to put into practice 1% of the many daydreamed projects. i used to manage to finish everything i started, but recently my mind has got faster than my hands....

3. my mother is Danish, but my mother tongue is French. done my school in Italian, learned English while at art college in England, and now live in a German speaking part of the globe. I speak German with my hubby and the kids…. Scary…. I really do not like that language…..

4. i love cats. i have two, Alfred and Spooky.

5. gardening is my second favorite thing after dolls (and daydreaming off course, which can be done very well by gardening….). i love to read too, but when i start a book i get so much into it that i can't do anything else but read until is finished....unless it bores me, in that case i stop reading for a while and go back to daydreaming. my favorite author is Aruki Murakami.

6. i love flat open landscapes. ridiculous that i should live in Switzerland.... I do not think that I like my country very much. I just happened to be born here. I never felt like I belonged here…. Anyway i do not really feel at home anywhere in the world. home is my house for me, not my country. i'd love to belong to somewhere, but i don't .... maybe one day i will find the perfect place for me. right now i am dreaming of moving to England in a few years. let's see what happens....

7. my two kids Amalia and Orlando are both hyperactive, so i am constantly on the verge of a nervous breakdown.... well, almost. apart the fact they are sometimes too much of a good thing though, they are the best that ever happened to me!!!! ...off course i did not plan to have kids.... and until i met my Mr. P. i had actually planned NOT to have any....

8. i have been a potter since i was 17 years old. sometimes i do not know if i still want to be one, but i guess it is who i am....

9. i have been customizing dolls since a couple of years now, and i like it better than anything else in the world. I like it better than pottery to be honest….

10. my favorite food is pizza, but i recently got allergic to it. i actually have terrible reactions after eating random foods, but mostly pizza. eating was always one of my favorite things in life, but now it got scary. i have to carry tablets, sprays and injections with me all the time, because i never know when it may occur.... the rate is around once a month.

11. i am afraid of EVERYTHING! darkness, speed, height.... isolated places, walking in the forest alone.... you name it! off course spiders too! and now i am getting afraid of food too...poor me!

12. i was never afraid of getting older though. i will turn 46 in july. i always had great examples in the family to look up to. i am definitely more happy about myself now than when i was younger. but i could actually do without gaining weight, those weird rings on my neck, the sagging tissues, the annoying pains all over, the general sense of exhaustion.... well i could do without ageing, which is hard to avoid by getting older i suppose. luckily i am totally against plastic surgery and beauty gimmicks, otherwise i COULD end up looking quite pathetic sometimes soon....

13. speaking of which, i do not leave the house without make up. not because i do not like my real face, but because it just doesn't FEEL like my real face anymore, after 38 years wearing makeup!

14. i do not do sports at all! never did, i can't even swim!

15. I am very sociable and talkative beyond reason, but am also horribly shy! Besides I really enjoy my own company. I could stay in without talking with anyone for days in a row….

now i tag some of you out there.... those that have not done a meme already in recent times....

actually i was meaning to tag iris blakk, sandy and art-i-ficial, but were all untaggable. well if you read this, consider yourselves tagged, whether you like it or not.

Third day in a row suffering migraine. I just woke up from a nap in the middle of the afternoon and found this light just in front of me. My camera was very near, so I managed to push the button without focusing or composing. The result, at least for me, is a headache photo.

just to be clear, these are wild animals, on the outside of the fence, although it might look like they are penned. but i use the term "wild" loosely - this is Comox after all. most of the deer in this town know how to use the crosswalk.
