The Peugeot 908 HDi FAP is a sports prototype racing car built by the French automobile manufacturer Peugeot to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, starting in 2007[2] and eventually winning in 2009. This effort, in development since 2005, was publicly unveiled on 15 June 2005. It first competed against the Audi R10 TDI, becoming the second diesel engined sports car from a major manufacturer, and then against the Audi R15 TDI. This was Peugeot Sport's first Le Mans effort since the end of the Peugeot 905 project in 1993. It won 19 from the 28 races in which it raced between 2007 and 2010.

With Peugeot's announcement this week that they are pulling out of endurance racing, I felt like it was time to dig in to the archives again to resurrect some of my 2010 Petit Le Mans shots. I missed the 2011 Petit (first one I've missed!), so the 2010 race shots are the latest ones I have.

The car pictured here driven by Anthony Davidson, Mark Gene, and Alexander Wurz, went on to finish second while their sister car finished first. Including the 2011 race, Peugeot had won three Petit Le Mans races in a row, ending years of domination by Audi. Audi had won every race since 2000, which was the inaugural Petit Le Mans.

Tjolöholm köptes 1892 av James Fredrik Dickson med

hustru Blanche Dickson. Ett nytt slott uppfördes i

engelskinspirerad Tudor-stil 1898–1904 efter ritningar av

Lars Israel Wahlman.

The style choice is not surprising given that the couple Dickson both had grown up with British parents and lived in Britain in a row.

Round 6 of the CHNL saw a depleted Hepburn take on Creswick. For the 2nd week in a row the Burra’s were forced to line up with 2 players out injured. Confident in their squad, the competition leaders tried various line ups throughout the game until they quickly settled. Captain Libby Purtell at Goal Attack was instrumental in providing Hepburn with plenty of options in attack. Purtell maintained her 100% accuracy throughout the first half and was supported brilliantly by sharp shooter Jane Lienhop at Goal Shooter.

Creswick managed to keep the mid-court battle alive by providing sharp drives to the circle; however the Burra’s defensive pressure in the circle from Ebony Place saw the ball turned over time and time again. The junior of Hepburn’s team,18 year old Tara Ford clocked up her 150th game for the club in great style at Goal Defence. Ford seems to be taking every opportunity in seniors to develop her game with the help of Place at Goal Keeper. However it was wing attack Brydie Taig that stood up to the challenge and lifted the Burra’s confidence. Taig was named Hepburn’s best on court thanks to her speed and sharp feeding into the circle. Hepburn ran out winners 53 to 17.

The Mo Shepherd award went to Hannah Cameron-Taylor and Libby Purtell for outstanding work.

Hepburn’s reserves were also focussed on keeping their unbeaten run to the finals alive. The Burras got off to a shaky start as they tried to adjust to Creswick’s style. Moving Janee Brown into Centre in the second quarter was all it took to lift the Burras confidence and provide a 24 to 9 lead at half time.

Courtney Wetzel at Goal Defence, Kristi Pedretti at Goal Keeper and Caitlan Ryan at Wing Defence stepped up in the second half and kept Creswick scoreless until the final minutes of the game. Wetzel provided one of her best games of netball this year getting her hands on ever pass that came her way. Final scores Hepburn 53 to 13.

The male Zebra, seen in the back, follows his 3 lucky ladies.

Found these three Tractors parked in a row at Leaworthy Cross Devon. All as rusty as a horse shoe nail but all still working the land. None of the front tyres matched but the farmer was telling me that all had fresh oil 7 years ago!!! Proper old Janna, Think his name was Roy.

Shuishang Gongyuan (水上公园), or Tianjin Water Park, is easily my favorite city park in Tianjin and – to date – in China. Granted, I haven’t been to nearly enough places in China to make a more comprehensive statement, but of the parks I’ve been to in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, and Guangzhou, this is easily my favorite.

It’s the largest urban park in the city at a little over 300 acres of space. The park was officially opened in its current state by the communist government in 1951. Previously, it had been known as Green Dragon Pond and has a history that dates back to the first century AD. “With the establishment of Beiyang University and Nankai University at the turn of the 20th century, the waterways of the park became popular for swimming among academic staff and students during the hot summer months.” (Summation via Wikipedia entry.)

The park is quite pleasant year-round. In summer, the lotus pond is bursting with flowers and the photographers who love to shoot them. In spring and fall, various flowers bloom (chrysanthemums in fall, peonies in spring). Winter brings a freezing of the lakes – and there are three: East Lake, West Lake, and South Lake – whereas summer brings a rash of personal boaters.

In addition to leisurely strolling around the grounds with the various pavilions, verandas, and pagodas, the Tianjin Zoo (separate admission) is also on the grounds of the park. Also, there is an amusement park in the northeast corner of the park. Amusement parks are pretty common fare among China’s city parks, which make them slightly different than American city parks.

Shuishang Gongyuan is quite easy to locate. It is nearest the Tianta subway station on line 3 of the Tianjin Metro, about a 5-10 minute walk from any of the exits (though exits C & D are technically the closest). The Tianta TV Tower (whence comes the name of the subway station) is also nearby and quite prominently visible from many places in the park. I’ve yet to venture to the top of the tower, but it would provide an excellent viewing platform for a panoramic view of the park, weather permitting.

"In a Row"

Vuylstekeara Cambria is an old cross which became famous through mass production - since 1970, it has been produced in increasing numbers up to 1990, and is still available today. It was made by the renowned orchid breeding company Charlesworth and Co, and was made available to the broader orchid hobbyist communitiy through Keith Andrew from UK.

Image compiled from my Denden Town shots that just missed my final cut for a show that starts at Prinz Gallery on January 22nd and runs until Feb 22nd.

The show came about at the last minute, so there's little publicity ready, but I'll post something as it comes available. I'll have three big images on the (newly-refurbished) gallery walls.

Stay tuned!

Meh. such a lackluster picture in the middle of kinda cool pictures. I guess I just hit a dry spell. Maybe tomorrow will bring more inspiration. I have my first classes tomorrow. 3 of them in a row. Blaghhh.

One of the many fences erected along Montrose Beach

Right as I was wrapping up my shots with these tulips, I noticed that when viewed from a particular angle, the four flowers lined up in a perfect diagonal.....I couldn't resist taking a few more shots before packing up and calling it a day!

Today was Silent Day. It was the 3rd year in a row that I participated.

"Since January 22, 1973 over 50,000,000 babies have had their voices silenced through surgical abortion in this nation alone.

Over 4,000 children have their lives taken each day in the name of choice.

Over 4,000 women are emotionally damaged every day.

On October 19th, people from all over this nation will give up their voices for a day in solidarity for these children. Red arm bands and duct tape will identify them as taking part in the Pro-life Day of Silent Solidarity. They will carry fliers explaining why they are silent and educate others about the plight of the innocent children we are losing every day."

I haven't txted, tweeted, said anything on facebook, or on tumblr. I went to class, went to the bank, went to trader Joes, sat in Barnes n Noble for a few hours and came home and took this photo. All in silence.

I wanted to post these today even though I am not silent as I type this.
