A frame enlargement from a scene in an 8mm film with multiple exposures. Film Title: "Andy Warhol In Canada".

I was watching a nice white egret across the lake, when a dark movement MUCH closer by caught my eye. This young Green Heron had hopped up from the ground beneath my field of vision onto this low branch.

I couldn't believe my luck... on other circumstances as well.. chief of them was the soft overcast light and a fence that could help maybe confuse its recognition of me. Overall I had about 3-4 good minutes to shoot a few fairly steady shots while he made this stretch.. fascinating throat and tongue, these things have..

This is a very often photographed landmark in Columbia. I wanted to do something a little different. I kinda like how it came out but I wish I had scooted over to the left and got more buildings in the frame. Maybe next time.

Finlay Park is named after Kirkman Finlay, former mayor of Columbia, and is the city's most visited park. The 14-acre park opened in 1991 and features a scenic waterfall that streams into the park lake.

Monday night jam at Katie's Club

This was a window with mini-blinds looking through the corner of building to the other window which also had blinds. I dinked around with it exaggerating the "smile" that I saw, and then adding 2 little "eyes" for practice and fun. ArcSoft2 program and hand held Sony Mavica FD-75

This is an older building in Monroe, Oregon.

Three year average (mean).

Three years ago now I made a little Processing script to average sets of photos, and a few weeks before that I started a photo-a-day project, where I was careful to get as close to the same angle as possible.

This image is the result of finding the mean (sum of all values / number of items) of the whole three years of photos.

Year One, Year Two

Kiss goodbye to MS! another share from my archives dedicated to Palo

My Mom's 'Love In A Mist' , this time with a light blue petal-tip.

I wanted to have another crack at those soft diaphanous petals, and got the 'nest' of soft spikes underneath in stark shapes against the fading daylight.

Yet another balletic pose for the usually ungainly Great Blue Heron.

The colors were intensified, using Adobe Photoshop CS2, in keeping with the dramatic light that happens under overcast late afternoon Spring skies, pregnant with rain.
