Image Manipulation:
Welcome to my quadrant of the galaxy, here you will find things that seem to be true, but are not. Is it really a faster than light star ship, or is it just my Dining Room Lamp? You be the judge.
I wasn't pleased with the first effort, so to rework it some and try some other ideas. All photos are real; moon, star field, and Starship (tic).
A recreation of a film frame done using the process of rephotography. Three, separate 8mm frames or footage were
projected onto white paper and photographed one frame
at a time in 3 separate runs (triple exposure) back onto 8mm
film.
More photos taken at Grangemouth and photoshopped with polar coordinates. I also added diffuse glow, which seems to work really well on industry images.

I Am using the basic wondrous polar coordinates transformations as beautiful in and of themselves, but also as starting points for grounding them in their origins and/or creating new relationships for them.

If you need to explain the result, the result wasn't good enough. I think my effort to create a "see through onion" is a case in point.
But for what it's worth, here are the two images (to the left) that were used in making "Seeing through the layers". It's a juxtaposition, obviously.
I got lucky, yesterday, when my little buddy landed with aplomb on the dock as I was waiting for him to show. Apparently it had been fishing in the waters on the opposite side of the dock and I had not seen it 'til it lept right up onto the dock. Here it's leaping down from the diving board to the deck for a closer monitoring of the waters and for final preening before returning to the endless job of sustenance.
This version used layers, set to a couple of different variations, including one significantly blurred, brightened, and set to overlay, for a diffused glow effect. A copy of this layer was then inverted and set to 'exclusion' blending mode at somewhere near 50%, to flatten out the tonalities. The heron was masked out on that layer, so that it retained normal properties in the resulting image.

Calla Lily deadheads, once again in the studio. Image manipulations consist of total background replacement (Photoshop "fibers" filter) with deadheads masked to retain them, Color tweaked using a black & white conversion program to give a split toned effect, plus some selective sharpening.

There really is an effect they call Chemo brain. The drugs make it where you cant think just right.
So, I saw something I liked a lot and made my own version of it to get tattooed on my foot, but after posting it on Facebook, my opinion of the modern designer was once again given more justification. I was basically called a thief by my friends.
We all attempted at redrawing disney characters when we were kids. Would you stop a kid drawing Spongebob to tell them that they’re stealing another persons idea - no, because that kid isn’t making any money off of that drawing and it’s all in the name of fun. We regurgitate so much stuff we’ve seen in other designs in ours, that I don’t see why I should be pointed at for appreciating someone else’s work in making my own version of their lines the way I’d like it to look.
I think design, socially, becomes a “doggy dog” type situation when someone chooses it as a career path.
