Ok. one more version of that rainy day camellia, but with More Photoshoppin'. I kinda like the interplay of the grape and blue colors, though they are just about as far from floral conventions as a color can be. Then again, I don't see like an insect does, and that's the point of a flower, isn't it? This is another combination of ambient light and flash, with camera motion over a long exposure giving those nearly vertical streaks of light.

Only my second try on image manipulations called Out of Bounds.
Pocky - a Japanese snack consisting of a biscuit stick coated with chocolate. Now, the product line includes such variations as milk, strawberry, mousse, green tea and coconut flavored coatings. In Europe it is renamed Mikado, after the game Mikado. Outside of Japan, Pocky is fairly popular among Japanophiles and anime fans, like this guy above (my nephew!)

Photography has become a huge artistic outlet for me, I need to play with clay more but Im so drawn to the instant gratification I get from taking a good photo. My husband thinks i've given up the clay but I havent. My New Years Resolution is to get back into the craft show circuit. Look out!

starting with an old dried magnolia leaf ( I collect 'em when they dry in interesting shapes), sepia toned in nikon's raw handling software, I applied the amazing circle technique (described here:
brilliantdays.com/archives/2005/10/how_to_create_a.php )
in Photoshop, and placed the circle right back into the original sepia image.
Done in Corel Paint Shop Pro X.

Josh (my son from Vermont) and Chris (my daughter's friend from Pennsylvania) came by and took out a couple of our problem trees, and shared their wonderful children with us for a couple of days. Confident and nimble as gibbons in the treetops, it was a pleasure to watch these two work together, with support on the ground from my grandson Walker.
