Someday you’re gonna realize
One day you’ll see this through my eyes
By then I won’t even be there
I’ll be happy somewhere
Even if I cared
I know you don’t really see my worth
You think you’re the last guy on earth
Well I’ve got news for you
I know I’m not that strong
But it won’t take long
Won’t take long (cause)
Someday someone’s gonna love me
The way I wanted you to need me
Someday someone’s gonna take your place
One day I’ll forget about you
You’ll see, I won’t even miss you
Someday someday
Right now I know you can tell
I’m down and I’m not doing well
But one day these tears they will all run dry
I won’t have to cry, sweet goodbye

I had some more fun playing around with this one. To me, the art is in the details, like the tree in front of the rear tire and the dust under the front of the truck.
This truck was helping with fighting wildfires in Idaho in August 2007, and the fire behind it was encroaching on the town of Warren, Idaho. Click HERE to see the original photo of the actual engine.
Well, I did say this one was annoying me. I think I discovered what it was. I've tweaked the colour and lighting slightly across the shoulder and arm and put more light behind him. It's not perfect, but I feel happier with this one.
Apologies to those who viewed and commented on the previous version.

Our Raleigh Flickr group had our monthly meetup at Crocker's Mark Gallery, where we played with using just one light to learn about lighting. Tom Winstead (Roninvision) brought his fog machine, which got Jonathan Fredin's (5'20") creative juices flowing. (He was behind me, Directing.) The willing volunteer is Elise (BigGirlElise), with husband, Robert's (rfmueller) hands bringin' the resident evil. Photoshop editing tools allowed for this particular coloration and tonality, as we worked without gels or filtration on the set.

More photos taken at Grangemouth and photoshopped with polar coordinates. I also added diffuse glow, which seems to work really well on industry images.

If this is a little slow to upload but you can see it becoming more and more clear, please watch it all the way through. Polaroid Manipulations are an art form unto themselves, and you might like it. In fact, you might think it is somewhat astounding.
Thanks, Delina
P.S. My thin white border is not so much a frame as a defense against Flickr's all dark background.
"P" is for Poppy or Poppies
This was a job I did 7 years ago. Shot them in studio, deep etched and placed on this backdrop photo I shot for this photo.. unfortunately it took me 6 years to complete this job.. they never fully paid for this shot and it got shelved and last I though, dammit, gonna finish it.. also unfortunately it was shot on a canon 10D so its only 6MP..
They are quite big in South Africa, awesome rock n roll music.
I used Profoto lighting gear for this, two softboxes on either side, smoke effect generated later on a dropped in. still pretty cool and believable :)

A smiling airport control tower, Portland, Oregon. This is one of many pictures I took at the PDX (Portland International Airport) on a day when the shuttle bus driver from the nearby hotel was just absolutely sure my camera would be confiscated. I took pictures all over the place, and no one even asked me what I was doing. Mostly I was alone. I was there a couple of hours, and got some nice straight shots of the control tower. Those of you who know me very well know that I love to dink around with some of my photos. I gave this control tower a lot of fisheye technique, and made myself laugh with the toothy grin it got. I decided to practice my ArcSoft2 photo program skills, and I added a "nose". I think he is terribly cute. I thought about sending a copy to the controllers at the airport, but they have such a serious and intense job, I wasn't sure if they would welcome it as humor, or think I was mocking them. I really respect what they do. If they have a bulletin board, I can just sort of see this on it. Delina

Brooke Shaden workshop, London
4 days, numerous hours and 38 layers.. I have finally completed this image. I found this image extremely challenging to perfect as i feel i missed one or two "vital" shots of the fabric.. All i have is Brooke's voice in my head saying "Are you sure you captured enough".. Lesson learnt..
I cannot wait to get out there and shoot my next idea.. this time with twice as many shots just to be sure!
This is as far as Ive gotten and hubby put it up for me. Man its just such a daunting task to me this year!

This is the only work I have done that has two names. "Crackling Lilacs" is one, and the other is "Destined to Be Distorted". This is a Polaroid SX-70 impressionistic, manipulated, and altered.
The MyStory part is that I was trying to learn how to do Polaroid SX-70 Manipulations. I had been given either faulty or no instruction or very nebulous instruction on how to do it. I learned by trial and error. I took this picture of lilacs in my yard. I heated it up too hot and too long, and the Polaroid started to bubble and crackle from the heat. I thought I should just throw it away. Then I said to myself, "Self, that just cost you about $1 and you are trying to learn. You can't ruin it any more than it has already been ruined. Why don't you just work with it some more?" I did work with it and the crackling part looked kind of like cobwebs. I went to Kinkos to have some laser prints made of a number of different manipulations I had done, and guess what? The only little thumbnail print on the whole page of 16 of them, that bled lines of color and smears outside of the boundary of the actual photo was none other than this one. That is when I gave it the second name. The picture itself wasn't affected, but I found it sort of like Twilight Zone that this particular one would have the only color printing error on the whole sheet.
