since the whole phenomenon of fall(en) leaves suggests Brown.. This Treatment of an earlier image was tempting. I was finding an earthy human body gesture suggestion in the form, as it is framed, and that shows up a bit better in this version, too.

I got my camera fixed, have photoshop again - Life is good!
3 weeks until I am back in lovely England and I hope to take many pictures!
Kathrine and I went on a graveyard today to take some photos. Hope you like them!
This set of four images of the saucer magnolia in my driveway were done by the light of my off-camera flash, softened with a semi-inflated plastic Walmart shopping bag. I gathered the opening around the flash while encouraging the bag to stay as air-filled as possible.. like a big pillow/bubble... which I would hold wherever I wanted the soft light to come from. All educated guesswork, since I couldn't see the results before the shot, but could adapt by checking the review screen on the camera. I used the 18-55mm kit lens set toward the wider-angled end to get a more intimate perspective.
Some tonal tweaking and selective sharpening done in Photoshop.

Spanning the West River in Dummerston, Vermont since 1872, and having survived disastrous floods in 1927 and 2011 (Tropical Storm Irene), this bridge remains open for vehicular traffic. The longest covered bridge in Vermont, its single lane connects Dummerston with VT Route 30 and is one of the two main routes to the rest of the world.
I was watching a nice white egret across the lake, when a dark movement MUCH closer by caught my eye. This young Green Heron had hopped up from the ground beneath my field of vision onto this low branch.
I couldn't believe my luck... on other circumstances as well.. chief of them was the soft overcast light and a fence that could help maybe confuse its recognition of me. Overall I had about 3-4 good minutes to shoot a few fairly steady shots while he made this stretch.. fascinating throat and tongue, these things have..

I took Jake (my Grandbaby) and Holly ( my DIL) to lunch yesterday. I got lots of little chubby finger pics and I couldnt choose just one...Heck it was hard enough to choose just these.
I hadnt seen him in a couple of months. I cant believe how much he looks like a little boy now, not so much a baby anymore! OMG Time Flies!!!

Day 9 of 365
I've found myself giving my 365 Days Project more and more thought the further I get. One concept I came up with was putting myself in paintings and other artwork that I admire and like. Rene Magritte has always been a favorite of mine and in looking through some of his work, I've found a lot that I can draw inspiration from. This one is my first of many to come (or so I believe at this point in time). You can see the original here.
I decided to duo-tone this one to minimize the distractions of the background lakeshore.
I finally was in the right place, half-hidden in a natural blind, when this beauty I had seen fishing all around the lake for at least two weeks decided to come land on the neighbor's diving board. I had a chance for about a dozen decent frames before she departed for another fishing spot on the shore. (I don't Know if it's a 'She' or not.. just an guess, since they look like the males, only slightly smaller.)
I hadn't noticed them in the area, 'til this year. Apparently they hang a little closer to the beaches. Though similar to cattle egrets, which Are common inland, these great egrets are larger and lankier.

The dining room at the Spring House Hotel, where an old pal of Bonney's was celebrating an important birthday with friends.
Impression created from a view of the lake surface, including a floating sweep of detritus ensnared in a web of underwater vegetation, and a reflection of the sky, on an afternoon walk. The vegetation, underexposed, becomes a mysterious sweep of texture, defining the foreground plane, against the reflection, which has diminishing focus from the tree branch reflection on through to the cloud-diffused sun disc.
The whole thing was another exploration of the perceptual dimensional mixup that such a view creates. Somehow, to my own eye, the "upward" curve makes the image look upside down, but it's not.. just happened to be curved in that direction.
