Source: Creative Commons: US Library of Congress, Horseback Riding -- Central Park ??
I'm not sure why the USLC put those two question marks after the title of this photo. I have no doubt that this is New York City's Central Park. If you look at the right margin you will see that the words "central park" have been scratched into the negative. The horses, riding gear, and provenance all combine to place it around 1910. The bridge behind them carries West 72nd Street across the path where it becomes Terrace Drive as it meanders through the park, and then emerges on the other side as East 72nd. The elms, alas, are gone. The building in the background is recognizably the Dakota, with its signature railing along the top floor. At the Dakota, three quarters of a century later, John Lennon will be murdered. Behind that bridge there is now a 2.5 acre memorial to Lennon, which the City Council has named Strawberry Fields in his honor. It is officially designated as a "Quiet Zone" within the park, which leaves me wondering if anyone on the City Council ever listened to the Beatles.

Following firmly in the footsteps of the previous upload :)
Once again all the major 'look' was provided by Nik Software's 'Color Efex Pro 4'. The 'extract detail' option is a winner for me!
I am now under instruction from the wife to do something a little softer and more feminine.

Big Shout out to DeviantArt
And before you ask... I don't know where her left arm is either :)

Hand over all your gold!
A bit of a twist on the Robin Hood myth. This is Robyn and the dragon is called Little John.

Dragon by Daz Studio. All the elements were then composited in Photoshop.
153/365. Where socks come to die. But they don't die together in pairs... this is where individual socks come to die, leaving their significant other behind to a lonely life in the bottom of a drawer.
Our washing machine was hungry for some individual socks today.

Having seen Ian's brilliant Oob's I had to give it a go.
Had quite a time trying to re-create the water arch :))

Not having access to a local sanatorium :) - the background was rendered using Daz Studio and everything was composited in the usual way.
I have no idea what it all means. I was just in a darker frame of mind.
I have just posted a brief (and I do mean 'brief') making-of video for this image on my Facebook page. It is just a few images that show the process from start to finish. If there is enough interest in these - I may do some more in-depth versions of some of my more complex creations. If you happen to pop over there and 'like' my page, then that's cool. Thank you.

The zombies are back and this time they're on our side!
Model by Tigersgirl
Zombies and environment rendered in 3D and output as PNG files and all composited in photoshop.
Zombies always get a bad rap. How about a time when they work on the side of good rather than evil? I have to admit to having to hold myself back from actually posing one of the zombies doing 'jazz hands' just for a giggle.
Maybe I still might ;)
UPDATE - for those of you who liked the idea of a zombie doing 'jazz hands' visit my Facebook page to have a look. If you fancy liking my main page as well, that would be cool.

An image for peace. Splitting the image into four pieces and working on them individually and then bring them back together.
Both shots of the moon and Mount Baker were taken the same night, then merged to create this composition. It was almost a full moon.
Model Miss-Mosh by Marcus Ranum
Miss-Mosh rules! After an epic firefight, she and her alien sidekick, Dave, stand over a scene littered with the bodies of the undead - each of whom are now fully, properly, dead, thanks to a bullet to the head.
Yes, there is a little bit of digital work in this picture ;-)
Big thanks to Marcus Ranum
A long and bloody battle comes to an end aboard one of Her Majesty's frigates. Our heroine takes a moment to survey the scene of devastation around her.
Having now got the most beautifully detailed 3D model of a frigate to work with, I had to render out a scene that would do our rogue captain of the high-seas justice. Garr!
Had an absolute blast working on this one. Lots of photoshop layers later - here we are :)

Leaving the white, almost blue-white highlights from the light-diffusing plastic bin allows this version of the Sun Star blossom to look as if it were photographed outdoors in natural lighting.. yet it was lit using this setup:

I also combined three exposures of this view into one High Dynamic Range image, using Photoshop's HDR feature.

Our Intrepid adventurer prepares to descend into the depths of some perilous catacombs with an unlikely guide for company.
The usual mixture of model Sarah-Jane shot against grey with CGI elements for background and lots and lots of photoshop layers and brushes for the final composite :)

Recently I visited the campus of The University of Arizona, here in Tucson. I got inspired by some of the cool looking architecture. I take my camera phone with me everywhere I go. I created this image using a bunch of tricky editing techniques.. I use GIMP image editing software because it's FREE... Photoshop is way too expensive..
The year is 1907, but look who's rowing. They both seem to be enjoying it. Rowing, it must be said, does wonders for the bust. He should probably be fixing his gaze a little higher, though; she has such a pretty face.
The original appears in New England Sketchbook's photostream. Flock of seagulls compliments of ladybee82; thanks, Brittany. The sky was photographed over Harwich a century later and has been colored a bit by hand.
