GODZILLA Movie Premiere in Hollywood

7.11.12... my brother was in Copenhagan and brought back these amazing little lego man ice cube trays.

After the failure of the icecubes, I thought I would play it safe with yet another tomato shot :)

How to make it a bit different though ?

As I have been messing with colour flashes, I thought I would try it here and see what happens.

Rather than try and turn the tomato some obscure colour though, I tried to bring out the natural a bit more and play with the background. So red and orange filters were attached to the two side flashes and a blue one to light the blue fun foam backdrop.

This is the result :) Maybe the fruit is not quite so natural after all, but I quite like the effect. Feel free to disagree, it wont lessen the fun I'm having ;-)

To recap the lighting, 3 x Neewer SF-01 mini slave flashes, fitted with colour fliters. The two to the sides fired by radio triggers, with the third behind using the optical sensor.

I have no idea how this happened in my freezer.

why did icecube title his album that was released after eazy e died, lethal injection

I have the cutest ice cubes around--made with berry puree

IceCube – ELaNa XVII

IceCube Team working at Goddard Space Flight Center. IceCube mission is to demonstrate the technology of a submillimeter-wave radiometer for future cloud ice sensing. This technology will enable cloud ice measurements to be taken in the intermediate altitudes (5km – 15km), where no measurements currently exist. It will perform first-of-a-kind measurements of ice particles embedded within clouds. These measurements will not only advance atmospheric monitoring technology, they will also fill in critical gaps in understanding of how cloud ice affects the weather and how cloud formations process atmospheric radiation. Launched by NASA’s CubeSat Launch Initiative on the May 24, 2017 ELaNa XVII mission on the seventh Orbital-ATK Cygnus Commercial Resupply Services (OA-7) to the International Space Station and deployed on tbd. I was nominated, and chose to photograph the result rather than film it. My charity of choice was The Greater Chernobyl Cause, which you can read all about here:

How to Chill Champagne

Champagne, synonymous with celebrations and special occasions, is ideally served at 45 degrees Fahrenheit. And properly chilling it to that temperature will ensure that the bubbly's delicate flavor is preserved. But before we get to how to chill, remember that champagne should be stored at room temperature and chilled only in the hours before opening. Storing champagne for an extended length of time in the refrigerator or in a place where temperatures can fluctuate (i.e. in a wine rack placed near a stove or dishwasher) will turn the flavor of the bubbly into something resembling sweaty feet. And really, who wants to drink that? For the steps to proper chilling, read on!

Step 1.

Champagne can be chilled in an ice bucket or in the refrigerator, but never in the freezer.

Step 2.

If you choose to chill in the refrigerator, simply place the bottle in the fridge either upright or on its side. It can take up to 3 hours for the champagne to be properly chilled; the bottle should stay in the fridge for no more 6 hours to 8 hours.

Step 3.

To rapidly chill champagne (an impromptu celebration, perhaps?), place the bottle in an ice bucket filled with equal parts crushed ice and cold water. Using this quick chill method it will still take 25 to 45 minutes for the champagne to reach its ideal serving temperature.

The Flickr Lounge group has picked hot or cold for the Week 30 weekly theme.

This guy scared the shit out of his friends by staring at the sky with arms outstretched for about half an hour. It was really hot outside...they tried to get him to talk or drink some water or move, but he just stood there. Finally someone called the cops who were pretty cool with him. He wouldn't respond to them either. The cops told his friend to take him home, they were going to follow his car...or they would both end up in jail. His friend was finally able to lead him away...but the whole time, the guy kept turning to stare at the same spot in the sky.
