Electronics engineer Kevin Horgan puts the IceCube instrument flight model (a 883-GHz cloud radiometer) into a thermal vacuum chamber for testing at Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland. IceCube, a small satellite known as a CubeSat, will help advance scientists’ understanding of ice clouds and their role in climate change. IceCube will lead to the development of an instrument capable of providing an accurate daily assessment of the global distribution of atmospheric ice. nasa.gov/cubesats

Had some ice cubes in the freezer - I was going to use them for a different project, but I couldn't get it to work...

This image was taken by placing the Peroni bottle in a tub of ice. The tub was raised and under the tub was my off camera flash. Left and right of the tub were two studio lights with softboxes.

This is an artwork in Budapest, Hungary. It depicts current technologies frozen in icecubes, discovered by future archeologists investigating our time.

Ice cubes are made by filling an ice cube tray with water and keeping it in a freezer and they are mostly used to cool down drinks

Haven't seen this done before. Ice cubes in beer. The weather is getting warmer in Switzerland.

I put carbonated water in the ice cube trays. I didn't know what would happen, but three of the cubes expanded. Fun!

Now that summer's gone, I was thinking of some ways to acclimatise to the inevitable colder weather. So, upon sticking my head in the fridge I thought it would be fun to play around with some ice cubes. Not quite satisfied with the initial results, I poured some ink over my construction... did the trick and kept me quite amused for a while.

Although it took away quite a bit of the details, I decided to give it a bit of the Orton treatment (just liked the smudgy blueness...).

We froze ziplock bags of water in anticipation of a power outage with hurricane Florence. When it changed course, we needed the freezer space.

As a Canadian I can identify with this:)
