This photo was taken at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station during the 2014 Winter season.

This photo shows the Ice Cube Laboratory (ICL) at South Pole Station. This laboratory houses a great number of servers and electronics running Digital Optical Modules (or DOMs) that look for neutrinos passing through the earth. These DOMs hang hundreds to thousands of feet into the ice.

The building's lighting was helped tremendously by a super moon.

Shot through glass container with blue cloth for color. Thanks for your appreciation, Gail

IMG_9666. My latest artwork. A sculpture in ice of an iceberg, the theme of the project is global warming and the melting of the polar ice cap. ....... Thanks to ice-cubed, Manchester and Glacial Arts, Liverpool for the ice and use of their facilities - great guys!

It was 35 degrees inside my place today, so I needed something cold to photograph. The strawberry is frozen inside one of the ice cubes.

Just having fun experimenting with splash photography. Feedback welcomed please. Thanks

Moose (is like a bull in a china shop), knocked over my water glass and spilled all the ice all over the ground. He discovered he loves ice, good to lick and to play with.

we all need love! cold or hot! ;)

i haven't done any flower shots in ages. i decided to pick these red flowers from the garden, freeze them in an icecube tray and photograph them to celebrate getting to 100,000 views to my photostream.

it's an honour to think that so many people have visited and i thank you all. special thanks go out to my regular visitors; i know who you are and i love and appreciate each of you.

these lyrics by local band, the hilltop hoods, sum it up:

For my people in the front (front)

In the Nosebleed Section (section)

This is for the heads that's loving the mix,

My people in the front, all covered in spit,

Batters in the box, Suffa to pitch,

Hilltop Hoods, all up in this b*tch,

And we the funk leaders, punks you can't beat us,

We bump and pump meters, we drunk you chumps need us,

So jump with us, down in the front if it's,

Your flavour, come get drunk with us,

This life turned out nothing like

I had planned, why not?

By now I should've had some land,

Some money in my hand, round about fifty grand,

But I got nothing, I write rhymes on the bus,

I keep suffering; f**k the lines of the dust,

You keep sniffing, that sh*t is for the punk hoes,

This sh*t is for my bros, my people in the front row.

[Chorus:]

You know I looked around, for faces I'd know,

I fell in love with the people in the front row (ho how)

[x2]

[Verse Two - Suffa]

I got hip-hop taste buds,

I wanna hear that bass when I make love,

I wanna hear some lyrics when I wake up,

Write rhymes to get me through a break up, b*tch!

Rough like whisky straight, no chaser,

Went through fifty breaks, no flavour,

Till I found this one, and made the,

Bass hook with the drum, my saviour,

This is the comeback, tongue that's sharp like a thumbtack,

It's so tight James is saying give my funk back,

One track, eight track, a-dat, residual

Noise, man f**k that, we clean with the digital,

Toys I'm the Apache, you're failing to match me,

Throw your hands in the air like you're hailing a taxi,

And move to the funk flow, you stepping? Are you drunk bro?

This is for my peeps and the freaks in the front row.

[Chorus:]

You know I looked around, for faces I'd know,

I fell in love with the people in the front row (ho how)

[x2]

People don't complain if Suffa's in here,

And you're in the front row, all covered in beer,

And club owners don't say the place is wrecked it's your fault,

If the roof is on fire it's an electrical fault,

Man I bet you all bolt, when I bring it live

Like Friday night footy, in my hoody can hide I,

Gets live on the breaks son, like pace one,

Lads, if you're heading to the bar grab your mates one,

Ladies come chill, come rock with me honey,

I got like half a mill in monopoly money,

There's no stopping me honey, so you can take my hand,

We can lay on the beach and count grains of sand,

Or take a plane to Japan, and drink saki with mafia,

Fly to Libya for some Bacardi with Gadafi a

Dinner date, followed by a funk show,

We'll rip off our tops and jump around in the front row.

[Chorus:]

You know I looked around, for faces I'd know,

I fell in love with the people in the front row (ho how)

[x2]

Look me here, and I'm all yours, It's not for the money

and it's not for the applause, no

Oh no no nooo (It's for the Nosebleed Section)

[Chorus til fade]

thanks for being my front row :)

incidentally, i'm technically in the music video for this song: in the crowd. i remember that concert. i was squeezed inbetween four tall sweaty guys about a third of the the way back from the front. couldn't seee a thing but it was a great atmosphere.

I jest... I totally would NOT ruin this fine dram with ice! Eww....

I was hoping to have taken this outside today as there was a hint of blue sky about.... but it didn't last!

Thanks to all, explore *29

For ODC Group 2 - A part of the full picture

Finished up another session of our summer faculty training program last week.

In January (at the winter training session) I photographed a clear plastic cup of water on a white table cloth.

At the time I though, I'd try it on black in the summer.

Well I remembered to give it a go, but for a number of reasons it really didn't work out so well this time around.

However, I did like this shot looking down though the cup.

Captured with iPhone and Olloclip Macro Lens. Edited on the iPad in Snapseed, then into Fotograf for black and white editing.

Our Mobile Photo Safari session usually posts to Instagram. If you followed me there you might have already seen this image.

It really is still so incredibly hot, I find i have thirst on the brain! Before I had the chance to post this, one of my good flick friends corrada2000 posted a shot, what a drink !!!, that I find very similar to this one, and I find excellent, click on the link, what a drink !!!, and see what I mean!! The big difference between the shots, is mine is of water and hers is of wine, mine the light was light-bulbs, hers candlelight, it is safe to say she was having much more fun than I when she took her shot than when I took mine! :-))

Also, if you have a moment I recommend spending sometime checking out her stream, beyond her being one of the nicest people I have come across, she is a very creative and talented individual!

I found this while dusting off old photos, applying new editing skills to see what could happen. This is ginger beer with lime, when I saw the colours, I had to whip out my camera, lunch or no lunch!

IceCube is a gigantic 1qkm neutrino detector at the South Pole. It detects very high energetic astrophysical neutrinos from the Universe. The building here is the IceCube-Lab (ICL) and is just the tip of the iceberg.

Having a play with some splash photography again today using my new flashgun. This time I used water with some blue food colouring and an ice cube to drop in to the glass. This took quite a bit of processing after as well, as the previous splashes had stained the white t-shirt I used as a background and I had to put it in to photoshop and remove all the previous stains. Still I think it came out ok in the end.
