For the MM theme of “in ice”, I have 16 subjects all told and a couple with a two orientations. Just told a bud that there will be major dithering in the next few hours!! I’ll try to leave a link to the album somewhere close by when I get the possibilities narrowed down a bit!
The IceCube Lab under the Milky Way here at South Pole. There is almost no sun light anymore, so the Milky Way starts to be visible quite nicely.

HMB! Have a great new week and thanks for dropping by.
This short time-lapse video show cloud coverage moving in over the IceCube-Lab at South Pole. With warmer temperatures of -40C clouds are very common obscuring our optical view to the stars, of cause not our neutrino view ;o)
Portrait of a couple of lovely Icelandic sheeps, enjoying the lagoon.
Informations are available on my website:
Three times a year we have to drive to each one of the 80 IceTop detector stations and measure the snow accumulation on these stations. This picture is taken from the furthest away from South Pole Station IceTop station. All the buildings at the South Pole can be seen in the background.
I went on a small photo trip with some members of ljosmyndakeppni.is
We went to lake Kleifarvatn. The lake was completely frozen. When we walked down to the lake we saw this ice cube that seamed to have bin thrown in to the lake and at the moment it was bouncing up again the whole lake froze. Mother nature is always surprising you again and again.
ODC- Hot Or Cold
I love a nice cup of tea and we've been drinking a lot of cold tea lately. It's so refreshing during the heat of the summer. I get my tea from The Republic Of Tea. They have some amazing blends that are absolutely delicious!
Borage is a wonderfuly prickly plant that if planted once, will never leave your garden. It is edible too and the blossoms look really pretty frozen into your icecubes.
Large icecube from the melting glacier "Gígjökull", stranded on his way down the river Markarfljót to the ocean on the south coastline of Iceland. In background erupting volcano in Eyjafjallajökull, some lightnings visible in the far back ash plume. To the left in the Mountain, glacier Gígjökull which the flow of melting ice and water passes.

I also made a candle out of an ice cube, but I chose this one for MacroMondays. The alternative photo is in the comments. It's the first time I have managed to get two images for MM, usually I struggle to get even one! :-)
Image made for the December 29 Macro Mondays group's theme, "Redux 2025." Because I didn't do the "In Ice" theme this past June, I chose to 'redux' it this week.
I finally found a square ice-cube tray, so I did a little reshoot of my fire and ice-cube experiment of a couple of months ago. As well, I found that using distilled water makes icecubes nice and clear..... sweet.
I really like the detail and the simplicity of this one.... I think I'm on a minimalistic kick.
Another view of the famous Black Diamond Beach located on the south coast of Iceland. I love this place, as it is so atypical. If you walk just a few hundred yards away from the parking, it is a lot less crowded.
It's a of my favorites drinks..Campari, ice cubes, lemon and tonic water....I like the taste and the colour ...charming drink !
Thank you so much for stopping here , comments, invites, awards and faves ! Well appreciated ; ))
I wish a wonderful suday to all of you ... I'm away in this weekend ...; )
This photo also here ... www.flickr.com/cameras/sony/dslr-a200/ ...thanks !
A favorite dessert and past time snack, ice cendol or jelly strings of pandanus, rice and sago flour served with coconut milk and palm sugar syrup. Always welcomed on hot days and a real treat to be enjoyed outdoor.
Had fun trying a few different options for this theme but plumped for the simplicity of these food coloured ice cubes. HMM everyone!
What looks like an ice cube is really a stalagmite formed by drops from a dripping hose.
