Third rolls of Kodak Eastman Super Fine Grain BW Negative film. I love how the images turn out, fall in love with the film. I exposed this roll at 25 ISO (2 stops push) Processed with Kodak D-76 Stock for 30mins.

The contact prints from the first outing of the beast, my badly made 16"x20" camera.

The one on the left was over cooked Kentmere paper made earlier in the day rated at ISO3 which was a mistake, it should've been around ISO6.

The one on the right is Xray film rated ISO100 in near dark early evening conditions contact printed onto another sheet of Kentmere paper.

I'm still unsure if during the day the camera is light tight enough but when the sun is fading it's just fine.

Now I need to reeboot my portrait project nad/or take it out in the field late evenings but I really need an assistant as it's bloody heavy.

This is a black and white microfilm stock and is very slow, with an ISO rating of 3. Developed in Ilfosol 3 1:14 for 15 minutes at 20 deg. C.

Another shot from the roll of Kodak 2366 I ran thru the Nikon F5. I purchased this film from the FPP Store. The film is yellow in color and has an ISO rating of 6.

It is a pretty contrasty film, but I like it. I have some other hand rolled films from the FPP that I need to shoot, including one that is rated at ISO 0.5, and another that is rated at ISO 0.06!

Canon EOS 500 with M42 Fujinon 55mm f/1.8 lens plus Fuji Superia 100 film expired 2003 @ISO64.

I've been intrigued by the ubiquitous Canon EOS bodies, mostly since my friend Christos has been using them for years with different vintage lenses, to great effect.

I picked one up a couple of years ago in a charity shop, hated the plasticky feel and quickly put it down again.

But when a black EOS 500 came along in excellent condition for 99p plus P+P I felt it was time to give one a try.

I already had a few M42 > EOS adapters, thrown in as freebies with M42 lenses I've bought in the last year or so, and I'm not interested in any Canon lenses, or starting collecting lenses in a new mount.

I picked the wonderful little Fujinon 55/1.8, slipped it on the EOS, and set out.

The EOS is actually a really neat little camera.

Light, quite small (but not awkwardly so), with logical controls and good ergonomics.

The viewfinder, which I feared would be awfully pokey and tricky to focus with, is actually surprisingly usable, especially for a camera designed for AF lenses. I had no trouble focusing.

The LCD display in the VF is subtle, but informative, showing shutter speed and exposure compensation (in Av mode) a sitting below the main focusing area.

Exposures were all great, shutter range is 30s up to 1/2000s, and the ISO range of 6-6400 (Plus +/- 2 exposure compensation) is matched only one of my Contax bodies, the 167MT. So the MT, and this EOS, are the only two cameras I can shoot ISO1.6 Kodak Vision motion picture film with - ISO6 +2 stops overexposure on the compensation dial.

With my glorious quartet of Contax bodies and the M42 > C/Y adapter, I really don't need any other M42 compatible body.

But, against the odds somehow I do think the EOS will get another outing or two in the future... It just does all you want, without fuss, in a small, light, quiet, ergonomic and unassuming package.

That must be about camera number 27 I've tried on the basis of seeing what Christos has done with a similar one...
