Testing EASTMAN Fine Grain Duplicating Positive Film 2366 film with some additional film recipes. This rather contrasty film is especially nice on an overcast autumn day.
Camera: Olympus OM2n, Zuiko 24mm lens
Film: EASTMAN Fine Grain Duplicating Positive Film 2366 (Kodak 2366), ISO 6, developed in FPP76, D-76 stock, 6 minutes 45 seconds @ 68 degrees.

Kodak Space Film..What is it!? It's Low Contrast Aerographic
Fine Grain Duplicating Film
Yes - this film is actually bright yellow before it is developed but the negative comes out just like regular B&W when developed normally. Lance uses the Rodinal Stand but you can send the film to your favorite BW lab too!
The only reference Lance found anywhere of use of this film is by NASA and other Space Related agencies to photograph solar flares and other phenomena. - It is called "Aerographic" film which supposedly has some extra red sensitivity, perhaps that is built-in via the yellow base? I tried using a red filter but got NO exposure on the frame so be careful if trying red filters.
Where to get it? The FPP On-Line Store!

Hasselblad 500CM +150mm/f4.0 Sonnar with tripod.. Adox CMS20 at ISO20 developed in 1:9 Adotech III developer at 24C in a 2520 Jobo tank rolled continuously by hand . Printed with an LPL 7453 enlarger +fujinon-EP 135mm/5.6 lens at f8.0 magenta 18 sec yellow 14 sec exposure with the ground and upper regions burned in. Paper is 5x7 Adox MCC110 processed with Adotol WT developer and Rollei Selenium Toner II. Dry-mounted with a Seal Junior 60 press on PGI museum board and scanned on a CanoScan LiDE 40 scanner.
With my next roll of CMS20, besides exposing as ISO 12 or ISO6., I will probably develop at a lower dilution n of Adotech developer.
Experimental roll of extremely low ISO (6) high-contrast film from Film Photography Project.
My observations on my first roll: Exteriors with sun retain some shadow detail. The highlights bloom a little and have to be controlled in edit. Long exposure under artificial light using a meter were underexposed. Reciprocity failure caused extreme contrast. I'll try adding 50% more time to anything over a couple of seconds. I'll double the time of anything over 1 minute.

This Satin Bowerbird has decorated his bower with an assortment of blue decorations.
This was captured at O'Reilly's Resort, Lamington National Park, Queensland, Australia. The male bird was trying to attract his female companion.
It was really dark in the rainforest to get this image.
Nikon D810 camera with 200-500mm f/5.6E lens at 1/200 sec, f/5.6, 500mm at ISO6,400.
This is kind of cool film called Kodak 5366 iso 6 positive black and white film. I treat this film as negative so that processed in Kodak HC-110 developer for 4 min.. , and the result of scanning is not that bad, but have no idea what the result it is of darkroom printing. :b

Menacing dangers in a dark alley. Look behind the obvious .... No one wants a Dobie sneaking up on them in the dark....
Kodak 2383 pushed to ISO 6 (2 Stops) shot with Nikon N90s and Sigma EX 17-35 AF Zoom. Taking advantage of 2383's tendency to go dark when pushed. This was actually shot in broad daylight in the afternoon sun in an open yard. Interesting effects. Developed in FUJI RA-4 paper developer 1 to 14 dilution plus 10ml of 30% hydrogen peroxide to bring the developer to pH 10.59 (ECP 2 levels). Dev for 3 minutes at 100 degrees. Acid stop for 40 seconds. Bleached for 1 minute in potassium ferricyanide bleach, 1 minute wash, 40 second fix in home made ammonium thiosulfate fixer. Difficult to scan because both the scanner and I wanted to make it "daylight" instead of a very dark image as the negative confirms. More to be done here....

Taken with my Mamiya 330 Professional F TLR camera with a Mamiya Sekor 55mm f/4.5 Wide Lens, on Rollie infrared 400 film rated at 6 ISO with an R72 infrared 720nm pass filter on the taking lens.
I stand developed it to preserve the highlights and hopefully give the whites a bit more glow. Developed in homemade 510 pyro for 1 hour 15 minutes, adjitated for the first minute then 3 inversions after about 45 minutes.
Stopped with a water stop bath then fixed in Zone Imaging Eco ZONEFIX Alkaline Fixer for 5 minutes.
Scanned on my Epson V600 scanner with a Lomo 120 digitaliza. Some minor adjustments to contrast and levels in Photoshop finished it off.

I could enjoy imaging of the comet twelve days after the perihelion passage on April 21, 2024.
Here is a composited frame made with many frames:
www.flickr.com/photos/hiroc/53720295819/
It was low in the west before the end of twilight, and imaging session was during twilight. Thanks to the location in southern hemisphere and dry atmosphere, imaging was not difficult.
The site was near Paranal Observatory, and there came yellow laser beam from the observatory in the frame as you see. It was outside of the right upper corner. Satellites were nuisance as always.
The comet was drifting toward southeast in Taurus. It was bright. Dust coma was round and small, though it was saturated on this one shot frame. Dust tail was wide toward northeast. Greenish ion halo was not dominant. Bluish ion tail was long with kinks toward east southeast beyond the edge of the frame.
North is up, and east is to the left on the frame.

Nikon F2 Photomic + Ai Nikkor 50mm 1.4 using Adox CMS20 at ISO6. Developed in Adotech 3 developer 1/30 dilution for 10 min. at 20C in a Jobo 2520 tank. Printed on Adox MCP310 developed in Adotol Warmtone.
From a test roll of CMS20 fine resolution film. Please click to see the detail. I bracketed the exposure and the ISO6 frames looked the best. Adotech3 at 1/30 dilution seems to work so it will be possible to process 20 rolls with a 100ml bottle.
The resolution of the nikkor turned out to look good. Lighting is an umbrella with 4 fluorescent spiral tubes.
