a part two to this photo I did, on my last self portrait challenge; a continuation of the characters journey.
I am having the best time creating consistently and finding inspiration in the short time I have to create: I am planning big photoshoots and concepts of stories that I have been holding off telling. Looking back on my self portrait challenge I did this time last year, I see a more daring and spirited person- I am creating from a much more genuine place and carry myself truly in my images. My images last year are so inspiring to look back on, but seeing the change in how I'm creating in a year shows how much I have grown, and promises for more growth over the horizon.
Day 2 of my Self Portrait Challenge.
The Continental Mark II, Ford Motor Company’s ultra-luxury coupé whose production life lasted for just the two years of 1956-57. Not branded as a Lincoln but as a stand-alone model, the Continental Mark II was largely hand-built. Each car was produced at a loss, which accounted for the brief production life. No expense had been spared until then: the upholstery leather had been sourced from a herd of cattle in Bridge of Weir, Ayrshire - as one owner told me some years ago. Ford had bigger fish to fry, so the Continental’s production facility was turned over for churning out the new Edsel model.
I had just visited a classic car show in Clearwater FL when this photo-opportunity presented itself to me. The car had not been a participant but was just passing by chance. As the driver waited for the lights to change, I snatched my view.

At 00:35 CEST on 2 April (18:35 local time on 1 April), NASA's Space Launch System rocket lifted off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, carrying four astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft on Artemis II. At the heart of the mission is ESA's European Service Module, which powers, propels and sustains the Orion spacecraft and its crew on their journey around the Moon and safely back to Earth.
Over the next 10 days, NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch, together with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, will fly around the Moon and return safely to Earth, the first journey of its kind since Apollo 17 in 1972, over half a century ago.
Powering Orion on this historic voyage is our second European Service Module, which is responsible for life support for the astronauts, as well as power generation and propulsion. Its four solar arrays, each stretching seven metres, give electricity to the spacecraft, while its systems provide air, water, and a comfortable temperature for the astronauts. Thirty-three engines, including a powerful repurposed Space Shuttle engine, will guide Orion through deep space and perform critical manoeuvres on the lunar journey.

Tiger II is the common name of a German heavy tank of the Second World War. The final official German designation was Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B,often shortened to Tiger B.The ordnance inventory designation was Sd.Kfz. 182. It is also known under the informal name Königstiger (the German name for the Bengal tiger), often translated literally as Royal Tiger, or somewhat incorrectly as King Tiger by Allied soldiers, especially by American forces.
The Tiger II was the successor to the Tiger I, combining the latter's thick armour with the armour sloping used on the Panther medium tank. The tank weighed almost 70 tonnes, and was protected by 100 to 185 mm (3.9 to 7.3 in) of armour to the front. It was armed with the long barrelled 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 anti-tank cannon. The chassis was also the basis for the Jagdtiger turretless tank destroyer.
The Tiger II was issued to heavy tank battalions of the Army (Schwere Heerespanzerabteilung – abbreviated s.H.Pz.Abt) and the Waffen-SS (s.SS.Pz.Abt). It was first used in combat with s.H.Pz.Abt. 503 during the Normandy campaign on 11 July 1944; on the Eastern Front, the first unit to be outfitted with Tiger IIs was the s.H.Pz.Abt. 501, which by 1 September 1944 listed 25 Tiger IIs operational.

Saw this big cat on display in the window of a second hand shop and had to have it. Initially I thought it was a well-made and painted plastic model but it turned out to be die cast metal. It's from the same manufacturer as my metal Tiger I. It didn't come in a box and there were a few extras missing but for the price I paid, I wasn't complaining.

To quote Firesign Theater, "She's no fun, she fell right over." That applies to the erstwhile chimney on this eastern shack. I already posted Longmont City's fail at Chimney Rock. Well, if nothing else, Chimey Rock still stands and I took some pictures of it although I have no idea why. This fail left a few traces. An implement tire died in the yard. On the other hand, the shingles may still shed some of the elements.
I can see that Trump was here golfing and broke some windows. That's not likely to happen at his canceled Bedminster PGA tourney. A lot of UV at this rental and a bit of wind and rain too! Was this an ag labor shack or an original home? It had actual shaped siding. It looks like it was seriously constructed.
II slipped back into another prairie shack when I found this eastern shack to edit. This adds to the abandoned farmstead homes northeast of Longmont, Colorado near I-25 north to Wyoming. Living here provides a great view of the Front Range, if a bit damp and breezy. I added it to my shacks album.
This could be ideal to hang some clothes to dry out on the clothes line on the other side... especially if that warm breeze comes up to help whack the bed bugs in the UV. Could air out the bedding at the same time. Boy, I better shed my jacket pretty soon! Both windows being open let the morning breezes slide right on through.
eDDie tracked me down Friday night and after breakfast with [Wyoming Wanderer] Frank, eDDie and I trekked out to shacks directly along I-25 and I almost filled my film card for the very first time with these collapsing shacks. Prairie land, indeed! This old tumbleweed trapping homestead was along the rural route and shot earlier than the Pelican Pond house as the sky was beginning to develop. We accidentally hit unexpected killer skies that developed in the middle morning. If it rains, I'd suggest some drop here but not inside!

A pale statue fragment from the Ramses II exhibit, set against a black background and lit softly from one side. The weathered stone and the carved folds show the age of the piece. It's an ancient object shown with dramatic simplicity.
The service module for the Artemis II Orion spacecraft was moved into the Final Assembly and System Testing (FAST) Cell inside the Operations and Checkout Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where it will be integrated with the crew module before being handed over to NASA's Exploration Ground Systems for fueling.
