Happy 4th of July.

Although not too patriotic, finally some hummingbird activity at my feeders.

 

This might become my new obsession.

Taken Summer 2017 @ either Green Springs, Huntley Meadows, Meadowlark Gardens or my backyard.

Nikon D200 with the new Nikon 18-200 VR lens and the DX800 flash. This is cropped significantly from the original!

Photos of a late afternoon spent with a large charm of hummingbirds. It was one of the coolest bird-related experiences I've ever had.

I believe this is a male Anna's Hummingbird.

What is really amazing about photographing hummingbirds is you may catch a couple of hummingbirds in almost the same spot doing the same thing, yet each picture is different. We had a storm roll in tonight and that ment low light which upset me because they were all out in force. I am now refilling the feeders every other day. To be honest with you I think they have a drinking problem, lol

The raccoon knocked feeder down and it broke part of the rings but now the hummingbirds like that broken part better since it is closer.
