Photographed in my backyard.

This set is a special thank you to my wife Toni for all the research and work she has done to create a wonderful Hummingbird/Butterfly garden in our new house of 2010. This summer all of her work has paid off with the continued apprearance of a male and female Ruby-throated Hummingbird. We have also seen a second female in the yard at the same time. Thank you Toni!

Anna's hummingbird (Calypte anna)

Rufous Hummingbirds show up in Los Alamos around July 4th. This is either an adult female or a juvenile male; because of the time of year, I suspect this is an adult female.

This tiny hummingbird just can't get enough nectar! He darts from one "blossom" to another, getting his fill.

Here is a little set from the shots I got of the hummingbird just a couple feet away from me. These exotic flowers planted next to a spring attracted all of the birds.

man, these guys are movement sensitive... just love watching them tho... sat outside and waited and was rewarded with this beauty

Probably redundant but when the hummingbirds show up at the feeder I have to take pictures.

So So close...i have an excuse. it was dark, rainy, etc. Next spring I am putting out my own feeder so I can take photos till I get it right.
