Female closely guarded the feeder from the Cannon flowers and quickly chased off the male

This Anna's Hummingbird has taken up residence in my backyard for the winter. She has already gone thru a full feeder of nectar - now we are committed to each other for the season...

I think these are all Anna's Hummingbirds, this being one of two females. We have three regulars at the feeder, who are now slurping their way through a feeder-full of sugar water in around five days.
