What is really amazing about photographing hummingbirds is you may catch a couple of hummingbirds in almost the same spot doing the same thing, yet each picture is different. We had a storm roll in tonight and that ment low light which upset me because they were all out in force. I am now refilling the feeders every other day. To be honest with you I think they have a drinking problem, lol

We have two female Hummingbirds that come into the feeder, one a bit smaller than the other. They hate flash photography, one flash and they are gone for quite some time so I don’t use it for their comfort.

The bottom beak is actually not a beak but their tongue. Occasionally one will fly right at me stopping about a foot from my face and hover for a few seconds before departing.

Perhaps in another life we knew each other…

Hummingbirds are hard to photograph because they are so fast. To get the wing motion is, without quite stlling it is also a challenge.
