The park hums with soft light and stillness. She sits beneath the great oak, her dog close by – a moment that asks for nothing more than a soft shutter click.

9th NYC Bodypainting Day was held in Union Square. By the end of the painting, they formed a giant Circle of Hope with each person holding hands together, singing, dancing, sharing for our hopes and dreams. The opposite of hope is hopelessness, which can be an underlying feeling for many people in a world of bad news and challenging circumstances. It is essential that we all stand together in unity for a wonderful future filled with love and beauty that we can all share and pass along to those after us. There were many audiences, including male and female, watching the bodypainting. So many people are holding their camera and cellphone to take pictures of the male and female models.

Each cabin, each chair, each pair of legs tells its own quiet story. Fragments of lives unfolding side by side – strangers sharing sunlight, sand, and the soft rhythm of the sea. Ordinary moments, framed by geometry and chance.

Village of Ambatotsipihina

On our way to Miandrivazo, we stopped in the village of Ambatotsipihina so I could send my drone over the rice fields nearby. As soon as I stepped out with the remote, the quiet curiosity of the villagers turned into a gathering—one by one, children and adults came closer, eager to see what appeared on the screen. Within minutes, I found myself surrounded by almost the whole village, smiles and laughter echoing around me.

When I brought the drone back, some asked my guide in Malagasy if I could take their portraits. I didn’t hesitate for a second. Volunteers stepped forward—sometimes shy, sometimes bold—each offering me a glimpse of their personality in front of the lens.

On the way back, we returned with printed copies of the portraits. Handing them out and watching the joy spread across their faces was unforgettable—a small exchange that turned into one of the most meaningful moments of the journey.

A quiet moment of connection between man and nature. Sitting on a worn park bench, this elderly gentleman is surrounded by pigeons, his weathered hands gently offering them comfort and trust. There’s a story in his calm eyes, one of resilience, patience, and kindness that transcends words. The city hums in the background, but here, time slows down—just a man, his feathered companions, and a fleeting sense of peace.

Evening drapes softly over the sea. A tall ship drifts toward the horizon, its sails ghostlike against the muted sky. A few figures linger on the sand, unhurried, as if time itself has paused to listen to the waves and ebbing tide.

Between Rooms and Reverence: A Museum Memory in Motion

He stepped through the doorway slowly, not out of hesitation, but out of respect—for the silence, the sculpture, the soft light that made everything feel sacred. The dancer in gold held her pose eternally, while the portrait watched with painted eyes. It was a moment of transition, from one room to another, from observation to contemplation.

Later, when the trip was just a story, this scene returned—not for the art itself, but for the feeling. That quiet sense of being surrounded by beauty, of moving through curated stillness, of becoming part of the exhibit without meaning to. Because sometimes, the most enduring travel memories are made in places where time stands still and thought moves freely.

In this frame,

branches entwine with silhouettes,

as if the trees themselves

have learned the rhythm of human breath.

Shadows dance across faces,

bodies bend like limbs in winter winds,

and the quiet ache of nature

finds its partner in our fleeting steps.

I mix what is rooted with what is restless

the stillness of earth,

the motion of people,

a dialogue of silence and song

Wong’s “Mint Tea in the Sauna During Sunset” features two figures sharing tea in front of a window offering a clear view of what is recognizable to many as Mount Tamalpais (located in Marin County...north of San Francisco}. Drawing inspiration from real-life experiences Wong transforms her artistic vision into a dreamlike sequence inviting viewers into a realm of curiosity and wonder. At its core, Wong's work resonates with a theme of joy, acceptance and openness fostering a reflection of the beauty of human connection.
