Can you imagine if a version of your younger self could travel in time and knocked on your door, asking you to let him/her in? To believe in him/her again... In his/her dreams for what your life should be / should have been... Would you open the door or slam it and run?

Let's never forget where we came from, not only in our background but in who we were when we were being shaped up. There's still time to reconnect with that essence and make some of his/her dreams a goal worth fighting/changing some things in your life for!

Happy new year 2014. Let it bring bigger nicer happier things than the last one...

What struck me in this scene wasn’t just the couple, stylish, arm-in-arm, with that easy rhythm of long companionship, but the light. It had a particular clarity that felt both cinematic and fleeting. Their jackets popped against the muted tones of sea and sky, the pier added texture, and the sailboat drifted into frame like punctuation. Everything aligned for a moment: the warmth of connection, the cool palette of Oostende, and a shaft of sunlight that made the ordinary feel luminous.

at the crosby street hotel, located at 79 crosby street, a dedicated team of helpful hands tirelessly works to keep the stunning architecture and clever interior design in immaculate condition. this photograph captures one such worker diligently cleaning the glass doors, ensuring every detail remains spotless. the play of light and shadow enhances the serene dedication of this moment, emphasizing the effort that goes into maintaining the hotel's high standards. the black and white treatment adds a timeless quality, highlighting the elegance and care that define this sophisticated soho establishment.

before the historic hofgarten in munich, an elderly man, dressed in a dark suit with a striking yellow tie, stands with an air of quiet vigilance. he appears to be the guardian of this place, observing the tourists who reach out to touch the lion statue, a gesture believed to bring good fortune. the contrast between the bustling curiosity of the visitors and the calm, watchful demeanor of the man creates a scene rich with storytelling. the timelessness of the location is echoed in the guardian's presence, symbolizing the silent keepers of tradition amidst the ever-changing flow of life.

capturing the essence of a friend in an unexpected moment over lunch. a simple scene transformed into something deeper through the interplay of light and texture. the tight crop and unusual composition pull us closer, revealing a hidden story in every line and shadow. his gaze seems to stretch beyond the frame, capturing not just the viewer’s eye but their curiosity as well. the portrait celebrates his individuality, his quiet strength, and the beauty found in the ordinary moments between friends.

Warm light, quiet corners, and deep conversations. Always the perfect café moment where time slows down. ☕✨

9th NYC Bodypainting Day was held in Union Square. By the end of the painting, they formed a giant Circle of Hope with each person holding hands together, singing, dancing, sharing for our hopes and dreams. The opposite of hope is hopelessness, which can be an underlying feeling for many people in a world of bad news and challenging circumstances. It is essential that we all stand together in unity for a wonderful future filled with love and beauty that we can all share and pass along to those after us. There were many audiences, including male and female, watching the bodypainting. So many people are holding their camera and cellphone to take pictures of the male and female models.

I took this shot in Oostende because it caught the easy rhythm of two friends walking along the pier, mid-conversation, absorbed in their own world. Their gestures, steps, and expressions suggest a story unfolding, while the green beacon in the background anchors the scene in its coastal setting. What makes it work is the mix of candid humanity and structured composition with the textured rocks, the line of the pier, and the natural light, all giving this moment both context and atmosphere.

nestled amidst the towering testimonies of human ingenuity, two souls share a moment suspended in the clear, reflective dance of the present and the echoing past. seated in the gentle warmth of a madrid sun, their dialogue is more than mere words; it's an exchange of energies, mirrored not just in the glass that shields them but in the very essence of their interaction. the scene is drenched in contrasts—the soft organic lines of human figures against the harsh geometries of urban architecture—creating a tapestry woven with the threads of connection and reflection. here, the mundane act of sharing a drink transcends, reflecting the layers of personal and professional lives that intersect in the heart of the city.

Last year, the Body Painting was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic. This year we have COVID-19 vaccination. Hence, the COVID-19 restrictions for the public are relaxed. The Bodypainting Day took place at Union Square on July 25th. The theme of Bodypainting for this year is resilience and is the eighth anniversary. There were many models and artists participating in this event. After painting, they marched from Union Square through Fifth Avenue to Washington Square Park. Then they took their own bus to Greenpoint for the party.

A fleeting moment, fragile and timeless. Between two breaths, two souls find silence and gravity in each other.

captured on the streets of palma, this portrait holds a story that isn’t told outright. the intense gaze and slight tension in his expression convey something private, perhaps an inner world barely hidden beneath the surface. the black-and-white tones amplify the sense of raw authenticity, turning this moment into a visual narrative of quiet resilience. the details—unruly hair, worn clothing, and a firm grip on his wallet—create a striking contrast against the soft, out-of-focus background, making him feel both a part of and separate from his surroundings. there's a timeless quality here, something both intimate and distant, capturing the quiet strength of a stranger.

Street Boys with Soccer Ball

I took this shot because it captures joy in its purest form. Luc and Ann sit on the steps with their bowls, laughing without reserve, framed by the heavy black doors and pale stone columns of Brugge. The contrast between the solemn backdrop and their lightness makes the image sing.

What makes it special is the spontaneity. Not posed or polished, just two people sharing food, laughter, and a moment that feels utterly alive.

And his eyes in my eyes proved it to me big time in this shot where almost every person seems not to connect with anything or anyone.

Two visitors stand in quiet contemplation before Robert Delaunay’s The Eiffel Tower and the Champ de Mars Gardens at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C. Painted in Delaunay’s signature Orphist style, the piece bursts with vibrant greens, yellows, and earthy browns, capturing the dynamism and energy of early 20th-century Paris. Delaunay’s fascination with light and movement is evident in the sweeping curves and intersecting lines that echo the rhythmic pulse of the city and its iconic monument.

One visitor gestures animatedly toward the painting, perhaps highlighting Delaunay’s pioneering use of color theory to express the Eiffel Tower’s dynamic presence against the lush gardens below. The other visitor listens, umbrella in hand, fully engaged in this shared moment of artistic discovery. Their shadows stretch across the minimalist, polished gallery floor, grounding the scene in a human connection to art that transcends time and place.

The painting itself—a geometric tapestry of intersecting planes and bold shapes—epitomizes Delaunay’s revolutionary approach to abstraction, where color and form dance together to evoke the essence of modern life. Through this lens, the Eiffel Tower is not just an architectural marvel but a symbol of human ingenuity and the spirit of innovation that defined Paris in the early 1900s.

As a highlight of the Hirshhorn’s modern collection, Delaunay’s masterpiece invites visitors to reflect on the interplay of structure, color, and imagination. It serves as a testament to the museum’s dedication to fostering conversations around art’s ability to capture and transform our perceptions of the world.

amidst the urban symphony of new york city, the essence of daily life unfolds at a bustling food stand. the mingling scents of grilled meats and fresh pretzels waft through the air, blending with the hum of conversations and city sounds. illuminated by the glow of hanging bulbs, vendors and patrons alike are caught in a fleeting moment of exchange and sustenance. a child sips on a soda, his gaze wandering as if absorbing the city's energy, while a woman in a mask moves purposefully through the scene. this image captures the vibrant, everyday heartbeat of the metropolis, where every interaction tells a story of survival and connection.

While shooting a portfolio series, the two kids suddenly came out of the door of their building... and surprised by what was going on, one fixated his eyes on me, the other one on Liam...

And I love that a portrait becomes a fantastic candid street shot that talks about cultural difference but also about human curiosity and connection...

captured in the heart of palma's old town, this photograph encapsulates a moment of pure joy as two italians break into a spontaneous dance. the interplay of light and shadow highlights their movements and expressions, adding a dynamic energy to the scene. the background, filled with shops and mannequins, contrasts with the lively foreground, enhancing the sense of an unexpected burst of life in an ordinary setting. this image captures the essence of street photography, freezing a fleeting moment of happiness and human connection.

In street photography, few things can be more powerful than a strong instance of eye contact with a subject.

The stare then has the ability to pierce through the lens into the photographer's eyes and ultimately reaching into the ones of the viewer. Asking questions. Acknowledging the non-written barrier of the "I know you see me, but somehow I see you too".

A voyeuristic exercise of fleeting human connection. Sometimes followed by a smile or a nod of the head, sometimes met with a grumpy expression of disagreement.

Of all the possible types of candid shots of the genre, this one is the most present, the one that puts the viewer IN the shot, experiencing that connection.
