Bad plans bringing cyclists to standstill

CYCLISTS in the North East claim a lack of town planning expertise is hampering efforts to convince commuters to ditch their cars for pedal power. Bike groups across Britain have used a new survey by the Newcastle Cycling Campaign to call on the Government to create a special "good-quality cycle infrastructure" fund.
But even if the money were available, eco transport activists say too few people have the required skills to help make life safe for those on two wheels and redress the balance on the region's auto dominated roads.
Katja Leyendecker, chair of the Newcastle Cycling Campaign said the problem stemmed from a "clear lack of political commitment for cycling in the UK".
"We have lost touch with cycling and our streets have been re-designed to be dominated by the private car," she said.
“We’re in dire need of a public debate on how space can be allocated better, in a fairer, more healthy, socially-conscious and environmental way.”
“Our cycling numbers have largely plateaued and seemingly reached saturation point as only a minority of people feel safe sharing road space with cars, buses and lorries.
“It’s obvious that public space in our cities, towns and villages must be handed back to people for walking and cycling.
“But design expertise is also dismal and will have to be brought in, possibly from abroad.”
Newcastle City Council endorsed the aims of the campaign and said it would work with them to encourage more people into cycling.
Councillor Nigel Todd, deputy cabinet member for environment and transport and chair of the Newcastle Cycle Forum, said: “A lot has been done in recent years by the council to improve the city centre for cyclists. But we’re aware that much more needs to be done to modernise cycle lanes, and create additional routes, so we are currently identifying the actions necessary to implement a new cycling plan for the City.”
Roger Bird, senior lecturer in highway engineering at Newcastle University, said the survey raised a number of interesting points. “The problem is a classic ‘Catch 22’,” he said. “Local authorities would put more resources into cycling facilities if more people cycled, but the lack of good-quality facilities prevents more people cycling.
“The biggest gain to society from cycling in terms of individual health and reducing congestion and air pollution will come from regular cycle use for commuting. So investment in cycle facilities must be concentrated on main commuter routes.”

El 17 de junio de 1961 se celebró el primer Festival de Teatro Medieval en Hita. El profesor Manuel Criado de Val decidió representar en la plaza Mayor de esta villa una versión escénica del Libro de Buen Amor escrita por él. La obra teatral se titulaba "Doña Endrina" y en años sucesivos este evento se conoció popularmente como "Fiesta de la Endrina".La intención de Criado de Val según sus propias palabras era que "todo en torno nuestro ha de transformarse en teatro: las calles del pueblo, el castillo, los "bodegos", los corderos asándose al aire libre... Desde que llegamos hasta que salimos de Hita hemos de sentirnos sumidos en pleno teatro y en plena magia medievales".
El Festival de Hita formó parte de los Festivales de España desde 1963 hasta mediados de los setenta. En 1972 fue declarado Fiesta de Interés Turístico Nacional.
A las representaciones teatrales se fueron sumando muestras de folclore con músicos y danzantes, comidas y cenas al estilo medieval, conciertos, ballet, cetrería bajo la dirección de Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, corridas de toros, desfiles carnavalescos, justas y torneos.
El Festival Medieval de Hita ha contado desde su inicio con la presencia de una serie de personajes enmascarados que han recorrido las calles de la villa acompañados por músicos y juglares creando un ambiente festivo. Son las “botargas” de origen pagano y posteriormente cristianizado originales de distintas poblaciones de la Campiña y la Serranía de Guadalajara. Con sus mascaras, trajes de vivos colores, cencerros a la cintura y cachiporras danzan y persiguen a los visitantes que se asustan de su aspecto diabólico. Las primeras “botargas” llegaron de Beleña, Retiendas, Majaelrrayo, Aleas y Montarrón.
En 1964 desfilan por primera vez las comparsas de Don Carnal y Doña Cuaresma acompañadas por las “botargas”, dulzainas de la Somosierra y danzantes de Utande y Valverde de los Arroyos. A esta mezcla de personajes provenientes del Libro de Buen Amor junto a los personajes “vivos” del folclore alcarreño la denomina Criado de Val el “Carnaval de Hita”.
Tras el desfile llega el “Combate de Don Carnal y Doña Cuaresma” representado en algunas ocasiones como pieza teatral y otras de una forma más deportiva y arriesgada en el palenque de la villa. El combate es una parodia de los torneos medievales realizado con lanzas sobre carros de madera arrastrados por las cofradías o ejércitos y que finaliza con el “Triunfo de Don Amor”.
Entre los actores que han representado a Don Carnal y Doña Cuaresma destaca Javier Borovia y Josefina Martínez. Las cofradías que portan estandartes y mascaras de animales están formadas por vecinos de Hita.

Breskens is a harbour town on the Westerschelde in the municipality of Sluis in the province of Zeeland, in the south-western Netherlands. Its population is 4,280 (as of 2001).
The town is noted for the Visserijfeesten (Fishery Festival), the largest festival in Zeeland.
A ferry connection exists between Breskens and Vlissingen. After the opening of the Westerschelde tunnel near Terneuzen in 2003, the ferry now only carries pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
The lighthouse of Breskens is the oldest remaining cast-iron lighthouse in the Netherlands. It was built in 1867 and became a monument in 1982.
In early 1487 Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor, granted the coastal region of the Scheldt as a fief to Philip of Cleves. The coastal areas were drained and the village of Breskens was founded in 1510.
On 14 May 1940, with the German army approaching, the Dutch government fled to London. Queen Wilhelmina initially ordered the British captain removing her from the Hague to set sail for Breskens from where she wished to lead the resistance against the invading armies. One of the reasons was that Breskens, having two fortresses in the vicinity, could be well defended. She was advised by the captain that he was under orders not to make contact with the Dutch shore as it was under heavy air attack, so Wilhelmina took the decision reluctantly to go to Britain, planning to return as soon as possible.
On 11 September 1944, during Operation Switchback, the town was carpet-bombed by Allied forces, leaving very little of the historical centre intact. After the war, the town was rebuilt and became a centre for the Dutch fish industry and other maritime-related businesses.
In the nineties, with the fish-industry in terminal decline, tourism became the main economic focus and a number of high-rise apartment blocks were built on the waterfront.
Prior to 1 January 2003, the town was incorporated in the municipality of Oostburg.

Breskens (Zeeuws: Bresjes) is een plaats in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen in de gemeente Sluis in de Nederlandse provincie Zeeland. Breskens telt 4787 inwoners (2010), die 'Bressiaonders' worden genoemd. Breskens ligt aan de zuidkant van de monding van de Westerschelde, waar de rivier overgaat in de Noordzee. Voor de gemeentelijke herindeling van 2003 behoorde het tot de gemeente Oostburg en voor 1970 was Breskens een zelfstandige gemeente.
Aan de monding van de Westerschelde hebben al eeuwenlang mensen gewoond. Er zou een oud Breskens of Breskin hebben bestaan doch zekerheid daaromtrent is er niet. Dit dorp zou in 1480 zijn overstroomd. De Westerschelde zoals wij die kennen bestond nog niet. Er lag veeleer een schorrengebied dat als Sincfal bekend stond en ook bewoonde eilanden voor de huidige kustlijn omvatte.
In de 15e eeuw ontstonden schorren die bekend waren onder de naam Breskenszand. Filips van Kleef, die heer was van Ravenstein, kreeg in 1487 toestemming van Maximiliaan van Oostenrijk om deze schorren in te polderen. Er werd hem toegestaan om aldaar een kerk te bouwen die aan de Heilige Barbara was gewijd. Doordat hij in de Vlaamse Opstand tegen Maximiliaan de kant van de opstandelingen koos werd de inpoldering uitgesteld, doch in 1510 werd het Breskenszand bedijkt. Zo ontstonden de polders Oud Breskin en Jong Breskin. In 1517 werd het dorp Breskens gesticht en in 1518 begon men met de bouw van de kerk, waarop bewoners zich in het dorp vestigden.
Door de inundatie van 1583 liep dit gebied weer onder water. De geschiedenis van het moderne Breskens vangt aan in 1607, toen het eerder overstroomde land weer in pacht wordt gegeven, en herdijkt werd. In 1610 kwamen de Oud Breskenspolder en de Nieuw Breskenspolder gereed.
Het dorp ontwikkelt zich langzaam en bestaat eeuwenlang hoofdzakelijk uit de huidige Dorpsstraat en een aantal zijstraten en omliggende hofsteden. Vanwege de strategische ligging aan de monding van de Schelde wordt door Napoleon en later ten tijde van de Belgische opstand langs de kust een aantal forten gebouwd waarvan Fort Frederik Hendrik het belangrijkste is. Aan het eind van de 19e eeuw verliezen deze hun militaire functie.
Gedurende de Tweede Wereldoorlog worden in en rond het dorp door de Duitsers bunkers en forten gebouwd, als onderdeel van de Atlantikwall. Op 11 september 1944 wordt het dorp getroffen door een geallieerd bombardement als onderdeel van Operatie Switchback, gericht op het vrij maken van de Scheldemond. Ongeveer 200 mensen verliezen hierbij het leven en een veelvoud hiervan raakt gewond. De bevolking wordt daarna geëvacueerd. Tijdens het bombardement en gedurende de daaropvolgende hevige gevechten tot aan de verovering door de geallieerden op 21 oktober 1944 wordt een groot deel van de huizen vernietigd of beschadigd. Na de oorlog wordt het dorp herbouwd en keert de bevolking terug. Dankzij de sterk opgekomen visserij en het toerisme leeft Breskens weer op.

I remember going to Club Rotterdam last year for an ear slamming hardstyle set. I went back recently and caught DJ Rentmaster Bernard bringing out the hard tech and hardcore. Ruslana Petrov is the owner of Club Rotterdam. WOW, so much fun.
I saw DJ Tink Toll, another hard tech dj there dancing along with everyone... and again, the 30 min allotted time limitation that I have, spanned the entire set. LOL! Hard to leave when the music is that good.
Speaking of hardcore... I also stopped in at BassLine Island a couple of times. First to catch DJ Vacano Jungle one night, then a quick set w/ my angel for DJ Psycho on the main stage and then BassLine's beach party w/ DJ Sven Newman. OMG, Sven was on fire! The place was just vibrating. 0.o
I went over to hear DJ AmyOrange Kidd at Crimson Shadow, another Rezzable sim where she did a very cool set of 80's new wave, indie. That was a blast of fun surrounded by the bloody red vampirish colors of the sim and dancing to her tunes.
To keep my mood, I went over to see one of the kings of hardstyle, DJ ISItheDreamaker Teskat at his new club Domina. Grazie Isi!
Then a stop over at EXUP Club to hear DJ Hooch Shippe spin a bit of alternative and metal. I hung out there for about an hour because Hooch was spinning some very cool tunes. Loved it!
And finally, a chill time with beautiful DJ Una Gackt at Kromatic. ... Kromatic... I always have a great time there. I love this club and how it looks. Rich, warm hues of wood and the cool art on the walls makes this understated club very sophisticated.
This is a photograph from the annual Rathcoffey GAA 10KM and 7.5KM Road Race, Fun Run, and Walk which was held in Rathcoffey, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Saturday 8th February 2014 at 11:00. This race event is in conjunction with Console Ireland, the National Suicide Charity (www.console.ie/). About 300 people took part in the two events. Despite the recent very stormy wet weather experienced in Ireland the weather conditions for the race were reasonably good. There was mild temperatures but at various points in the race route participants had to deal with a very strong head-wind. Nonetheless the race was enjoyed by everyone involved. The race begins at Rathcoffey GAA and goes out on to the road taking a right turn into Rathcoffey village itself. The race then follows the R408 towards Maynooth. The route heads for Ladychapel before turning towards Smithstown (goo.gl/maps/W5Kzf) and Johninstown rejoining the village at (goo.gl/maps/l7oEP) and returning to the GAA Clubhouse. The final 2KM of both races sees the participants return to the GAA club on the same 2KM as the start of the races. Rathcoffey is a small rural village which is easily accessible from it's larger Kildare town neighbours of Clane, Kilcock, and Maynooth. Rathcoffey GAA Club provided excellent facilities for the Race Headquarters and Start/Finish area which can be viewed on Google Streetview [goo.gl/maps/MtTpg]. The race also benefited from great support from athletes from the local GAA clubs in North Kildare.
Congratulations to all in the Rathcoffey GAA club and the local community. This is a very well organised event with every detail attended to for race participants. There are refreshments, showers, and changing areas provided inside the main hall. The route is a flat fast rural country roads route and the event is gaining popularity with every passing year. Well done to all.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. Aaron Swartz rappresenta una personalità per chi si intende ed ha molto a che fare con il mondo di internet e non solo, ma per i più è un ragazzo probabilmente (e purtroppo) sconosciuto.
Nato a Chicago nel 1986 già da giovanissimo è uno dei co-autori della specifica RSS e delle licenze Creative Commons utilizzate tutt’ora anche dal mio blog e si dedica poi al sito Reddit (tutt’ora vivo e vegeto).

The Convent of the Order of Christ (Portuguese: Convento de Cristo) is a religious building and Roman Catholic building in Tomar, Portugal, originally a Templar stronghold built in the 12th century. After the Order of the Knights Templar was dissolved in the 14th century, the Portuguese branch of the order was turned into the Knights of the Order of Christ, which supported Portugal's maritime discoveries of the 15th century.
The Convent of Christ of Tomar is one of Portugal's most important historical and artistic monuments and has been in the World Heritage list of UNESCO since 1983.
History
Templar stronghold
The castle of the Knights Templar of Tomar was built by Gualdim Pais, provincial Master of the Order of the Temple, around 1160. Later in that century, the castle was chosen as the headquarters of the order in Portugal. The castle of Tomar was part of the defence system created by the Templars to secure the border of the young Christian Kingdom against the Moors, which at the time (mid-12th century) corresponded approximately to the Tagus river.
The famous round church (rotunda) of the castle of Tomar was also built in the second half of the 12th century. The church, like some other templar churches throughout Europe, was modelled after the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, which was believed by the crusaders to be a remnant of the Temple of Solomon. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem may also have served as model.
According to Christian chroniclers, the castle of Tomar resisted in 1190 the attacks of caliph Abu Yusuf al-Mansur, who had previously taken other Portuguese strongholds to the South. A plaque near the entrance of the castle church remembers the feat.
The Templar order was suppressed throughout most of Europe from 1312–1314, but in Portugal its members, assets, and partly its membership were transmitted to the Order of Christ, created in 1319 by King Dinis. The Order of Christ moved to Tomar in 1357, which became its headquarters.
One of the most important Grand Masters of the Order was Prince Henry the Navigator, who ruled the Order from 1417 up to his death in 1460. Prince Henry gave great impulse to the pioneering Portuguese expeditions during the Age of Exploration. In the Convent, Prince Henry ordered the construction of various cloisters and other buildings. He also sponsored urban improvements in the town of Tomar itself.
Another important personality related to the Order was King Manuel I, who became Master of the Order in 1484 and King of Portugal in 1492. Under his reign there were several important improvements in the Convent, specially the addition of a new nave to the round church and its inner decoration with paintings and sculptures.
The successor of Manuel I, King John III, demilitarised the order, turning it into a more religious order with a rule based on that of Bernard of Clairvaux. He also ordered the construction of a new cloister in 1557, which is one of the best examples of Renaissance architecture in Portugal.
In 1581, after a succession crisis, the Portuguese Nobility gathered in the Convent of Christ in Tomar and officially recognised Philip II of Spain (Philip I of Portugal) as King. This is the beginning of the Iberian Union (1581–1640), during which the Kingdoms of Portugal and Spain were united. The aqueduct of the Convent was built during the Spanish reign.

Trata-se de uma construção periurbana, implantada no alto de uma elevação sobranceira à planície onde se estende a cidade. Está circundado pelas muralhas do Castelo de Tomar e pela mata da cerca.
Actualmente é um espaço cultural, turístico e ainda devocional. A arquitectura partilha traços românicos, góticos, manuelinos, renascentistas, maneiristas e barrocos.

My first digital camera was this Leica Digilux Zoom, a rebadged Fujifilm MX-1700, bought in Paris in May of 2000. It was a nice point and shoot for the time, 1.3MP, with an almost square field of view at 1280x1024. It still works! The streetcar "Hiroden" is useful and cheap transportation in Hiroshima-city. They have eight routes in Hiroshima-city and only Miyajima line route goes out of city. The history of Hiroden is old and it has ever been the means of transportations for Hiroshima citizens for a hundred year, and the first transportation which started to run just after bombed from Atomic Bomb was Hiroden. Even now two bombed streetcar carriages run in the city.

The transmitter site of KSPN/710 AM, which was known in its glory years (1930 to 1997) as KMPC. It has in recent years been the West Coast flagship station for ESPN, with all-sports programming, including Los Angeles Lakers play-by-play.
It has long been 50,000 watts by day and 10,000 watts by night, and directional at night, using all three towers, to the south-southwest, across Los Angeles.
The facility sits on a large spread of land in the center of the San Fernando Valley (specifically, Valley Glen): land that is in the middle of suburbs and surely more valuable than the station itself at this point, as listening to the AM band is tanking.
This is surely why the owner, Disney, received a construction permit to move to the four-tower facility of KRDC/1110 in Irwindale, east of Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley. There it will be 35,000 watts by day and 2,500 watts by night: a smaller signal (especially at night) from a lesser location.
After that happens, this land will be sold, and the towers will come down. My bet, as I write this (the same day I shot it in April 2021), is that Disney will move KSPN's programming to the much bigger signal on 1110 AM (50,000 watts by day and 20,000 watts by night), and put something else on the new smaller signal on 710 AM.
So I shot these because I wanted to make sure the facility was honored photographically before it was gone.

"Wir wollen, dass sich Juden in Deutschland sicher fühlen." Dies war die zentrale Botschaft von Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel auf der vom Zentralrat der Juden veranstalteten Kundgebung "Steh auf! Nie wieder Judenhass" in Berlin. Es müsse klar sein, dass jüdisches Leben zu uns gehöre und Deutschland "unsere gemeinsame Heimat ist". Angriffe gegen Juden rüttelten "an den Fundamenten unserer freiheitlichen Gesellschaft"
Was zu anderen Gelegenheiten als Fußball-Fanmeile dient, stand an diesem Sonntag im Zeichen der Solidarität gegen einen sich ausbreitenden Judenhass in Deutschland. Bis zum Beginn der Manifestation hatte sich die Straße des 17. Juni am Brandenburger Tor mit rund 5000 Demonstranten gefüllt. Unzählige Israelfahnen wehten, ein großes Transparent forderte "Frieden – Schalom", andere "Wachsamkeit gegen Antisemitismus".

Außer Spruchbändern von jüdischen Gemeinden und der Deutsch-Israelischen Gesellschaft war unter anderem das einer kleinen Kolonie der FDP zu erkennen. Eine Gruppe hielt neben der Israelflagge Fahnen in den Nationalfarben der Ukraine hoch, und sogar eine kleine Abordnung einer "Republik Biafra" bekundete ihre Solidarität mit den Juden und dem jüdischen Staat.
Im abgesperrten VIP-Bereich direkt vor der Rednertribüne gaben sich Repräsentanten eines breiten Querschnitts aus Politik und Gesellschaft in großer Einmütigkeit ein einträchtiges Stelldichein. Die Fraktionsvorsitzenden aller im Bundestag vertretenen Parteien waren ebenso erschienen wie der SPD-Vorsitzende Sigmar Gabriel und Außenminister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, DFB-Präsident Wolfgang Niersbach, Verdi-Chef Frank Bsirske und Ex-Außenminister Joschka Fischer, aber auch Aiman Mayzek, der Vorsitzende des Zentralrats der Muslime. Bemerkenswerterweise war in der ersten Reihe, direkt neben der Bundeskanzlerin, Ex-Bundespräsident Christian Wulff platziert.
"Schlimmsten antisemitischen Parolen seit vielen, vielen Jahrzehnten"
Judenfeindliche Hassparolen und Übergriffe hatten in den vergangenen Monaten die jüdischen Gemeinden in Deutschland zutiefst schockiert und verunsichert. Wie in anderen europäischen Ländern kam es auch hierzulande auf propalästinensischen Demonstrationen gegen die israelische Militäraktion in Gaza zu antisemitischen Ausfällen, die in ihrer Aggressivität das überstiegen, was auf deutschen Straßen bisher schon an judenhasserischer Agitation zu vernehmen war.
So scheuten sich antiisraelische Demonstranten in verschiedenen deutschen Städten nicht, die Parole "Hamas, Hamas, Juden ins Gas" zu skandieren. In der Folge kam es auch zu gewalttätigen Übergriffen gegen jüdische Bürger sowie gegen Synagogen, etwa mit Molotowcocktails. Überdies ist im Internet eine Welle brutalster Hetze gegen Juden zu verzeichnen.
Dieter Graumann, Präsident des Zentralrats der Juden in Deutschland, erklärte dazu, er wolle nicht dramatisieren, aber "das waren wirklich die schlimmsten antisemitischen Parolen seit vielen, vielen Jahrzehnten". Er habe in dieser Situation ausreichend Empathie der deutschen Gesellschaft erwartet. Graumann begrüßte sehr herzlich die Gäste und Redner des Tages, an erster Stelle Bundespräsident Joachim Gauck. Angela Merkel, die Hauptrednerin des Nachmittags, hieß er er als "treue Freundin der jüdischen Gemeinde" willkommen, die mit ihrer Zusage, auf dieser Kundgebung zu sprechen, "nicht eine Sekunde gezögert" habe.
Dass die deutsche Politik und Gesellschaft hier in solcher Geschlossenheit vertreten sei und so viele Teilnehmer gekommen seien, beweise den deutschen Juden: "Wir sind doch nicht allein. Zusammen sind wir viele, und wenn wir alle zusammenstehen, wird uns keine Macht der Welt etwas anhaben können." Er bekräftigte, dass sich die jüdischen Bürger nicht einschüchtern lassen: "Das Judentum in Deutschland hat Zukunft."
Freilich habe er sich schon gefragt, warum wieder die Juden selbst zu einer solchen Manifestation hätten aufrufen mussten, und eine solche Initiative nicht auch einmal von nichtjüdischen Institutionen ausgehen könne. Der EKD-Vorsitzende Nikolaus Schneider, der neben dem Regierenden Bürgermeister Klaus Wowereit, dem Vorsitzenden der Deutschen Bischofskonferenz, Reinhard Marx, und Ronald Lauder, dem Präsidenten des Jüdischen Weltkongresses, das Wort an die Versammlung richtete, reagierte in seiner Ansprache auf diese Mahnung: "Ich habe mir das gut gemerkt."
Schneider erinnerte daran, dass die christlichen Kirchen in ihrer Geschichte zur Entstehung des Antisemitismus beigetragen hätten. Es sei deshalb zu einfach, mit dem Finger nur auf muslimischen Judenhass zu zeigen. Vielmehr gelte es, selbstkritisch auch eigene Überreste der verhängnisvollen antijüdischen Tradition zu hinterfragen. Es gelte nun unmissverständlich auszusprechen: "Antisemitismus ist Sünde gegen den heiligen Geist, ist Gotteslästerung."
"Wir sind Freunde. Für immer"
Kardinal Marx bekräftigte dies, indem er für die Katholische Kirche, den Juden zurief: "Wir sind Freunde. Für immer." Er dankte Lauder dafür, dass sich der Jüdische Weltkongress vehement für die Verteidigung der grausam verfolgten Christen im Nahen Osten einsetze. Schon daher könnten sich die Juden ihrerseits der Solidarität der Christen sicher sein. Marx erinnerte daran, dass wir der Bibel den "revolutionärsten" Gedanken aller Zeiten zu verdanken hätten: dass "alle Menschen gleich und Ebenbilder Gottes sind".
Dafür, dass es uns diese Botschaft, die eine der Grundlagen unserer Zivilisation bilde, überliefert habe, "sind wir dem Volk Israel dankbar". Lauder selbst verwies auf die Anstrengungen, die Deutschland nach dem Ende des Nationalsozialismus zur Überwindung von Judenhass unternommen habe. So rief Wowereit aus: "Deutschland steht ohne Wenn und Aber zum Existenzrecht Israels." Auch waren alle Redner bemüht, klarzustellen, dass sie keineswegs alle Muslime für den islamistischen Judenhass verantwortlich machten und gleichermaßen Angriffe auf Moscheen verurteilten. Dennoch, betonte Graumann, müssten die muslimischen Verbände noch viel mehr tun, um die erschreckende Entwicklung in den eigenen Reihen zu bekämpfen: "Wann, wenn nicht jetzt?"

Nicholas Sailer is a writer and film director whose work has been screened at the Cannes Film Festival and Universal Studios. Sailer got his start when he won Best Picture and Best Director at CMF, the largest student film festival in the world. After studying screenwriting in Prague, Czech Republic, and working in Brooklyn, New York, He moved to Boylan Heights in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he works as the Chief Creative Officer of Betabox, a mobile lab startup that he helped launch.
In 2014, Sailer began the literary project, A Story Each Day, and challenged himself to write one short story every day of the year. When he completed the project, he went on to be featured on the home page of Kickstarter as Project of the Day and raised over $8,000 to publish the short stories in a complete hardcover collection.

The Tramway Museum Society was formed in the late 1940s when the decline began and they started to purchase the trams, track etc.
The Crich site came to the attention of the society in the late 1950s. They later purchased the site.
