Ce sera la seconde implosion de tours de la mandature après celle de 2004 au Parc. Il avait été prévu 300 démolitions d'appartements durant le mandat, on en reste à 220 parce qu'au Mayollet, rue Cancalon, des bâtiments ont pu être réhabilités et mis en studios étudiants.
Pour les résidences Chanteclair de 120 logements, la question s'est posée. Mais datant de 1973, orientés à 50 % plein Nord avec vue sur Michelin et vacants à 60 %, Opheor (Roanne Habitat) a fait le choix de la démolition. Les 47 familles concernées ont été relogées avec plusieurs choix de logements et ont été réadaptés à leurs meubles. 44 familles sont restées locataires d'Ophéor (42 dans la ville de Roanne dont 23 sur le quartier du Parc). De plus a été prise en charge leur déménagement, leurs branchements EDF, eau, téléphone etc. Cet accompagnement revient à plus de 2 000 € par famille. L'évacuation du périmètre de sécurité concerne près de 250 logements, soit environ 650 personnes. Pour les dédommager de ce désagrément, Ophéor leur offre ce 1er novembre : une entrée à la médiathèque, au musée, à la patinoire, un ticket restaurant, une place au cinéma (Renoir, Grand Palais), un pass gratuit pour les transports en commun. Coût total de cette opération : 1,7 M€ dont 1 M€ de démolition. Ces procédés de préfabrication en usine selon le commentaire sont bien adaptés aux pays en voie de développement, cela est illustré dans le reportage par une réalisation en Libye à Benghazi. Dans la course à l'allégement des matériaux un procédé l'isola béton est présenté. Un chapitre sur la construction métallique explique les avantage de ce procédé. immerssion dans le monde du logement social, l'univers des logements sociaux, des H.B.M au H.L.M - Retour sur l'histoire du logement collectif d'apres guerre - En Françe, sur l’ensemble du territoire avant, 4 millions d’immeubles étaient vétustes, dont 500.000 à démolir; au total 10% des logements étaient considérés comme insalubres et 40% réputés d’une qualité médiocre, et surpeuplés. C’est pour ces raisons que, à partir de 1954, le Ministre à la Reconstruction et au Logement évalue le besoin en logements à 2.000.660, devenant ainsi une priorité nationale. Quelques années plus tard à l’appel de l’Abbé Pierre, le journaliste Gilbert Mathieu, en avril 1957 publiait dans le quotidien Le Monde une série d’articles sur la situation dramatique du logement : Logement, notre honte et dénonçant le nombre réduit de logements et leur impitoyable état. Robert Doisneau, Banlieue après-guerre, 1943-1949 /Le mandat se veut triple : reconstruire le parc immobilier détruit durant les bombardements essentiellement du printemps/été 1944, faire face à l’essor démographique et enfin résorber l’habitat insalubre notamment les bidonvilles et les cités de transit. Une ambition qui paraît, dès le début, très élevée, associée à l’industrialisation progressive de la nation entre autre celle du secteur de la construction (voir le vidéo de l’INA du 17 juillet 1957 intitulée La crise du logement, un problème national. Cela dit, l’effort pour l’État français était d’une ampleur jamais vue ailleurs. La double nécessité de construire davantage et vite, est en partie la cause de la forme architecturale excentrique qui constituera les Grands Ensembles dans les banlieues françaises. Cinq caractéristiques permettent de mieux comprendre ce terme : la rupture avec le tissu urbain ancien, un minimum de mille logements, une forme collective (tours, barres) de quatre jusqu’à vingt niveaux, la conception d’appartements aménagés et équipés et enfin une gestion destinée pour la plupart à des bailleurs de logement social.
Pour la banlieue parisienne leur localisation s’est opérée majoritairement dans la périphérie, tandis que dans les autres cas, plus de la moitié a été construite dans le centre ville, le plus souvent à la limite des anciens faubourgs.

C’est le triomphe de l’urbanisme fonctionnel et rationaliste cher à Le Corbusier. Entre 1958 et 1973, cent quatre-vingt-quinze Zones à Urbaniser en Priorité (ZUP) sont créées, comprenant deux millions de logements, essentiellement de type populaire en Habitations à Loyer Modéré (HLM), mais pas exclusivement, remplaçant ainsi les anciennes Habitations à Bon Marché (HBM) crées en 1894. Selon le décret du 27 mars 1954 qui en fixe les conditions d’attribution, les bénéficiaires de la législation n’ont pas changé, ce sont toujours des « personnes peu fortunées vivant principalement de leur salaire », selon la loi Strauss de 1906. En 1953, tous les HLM voient leur surface maximale se réduire, en passant de 71 à 65 mètres carrés pour un quatre pièces. L’accès au logement des familles modestes se fera donc au détriment de la qualité et quantité de l’espace habité pour des familles nombreuses. À ce propos, le sociologue Thierry Oblet a bien montré comment se sont articulées les pensées des architectes et des ingénieurs modernistes, avec leur souci planificateur d’un État interventionniste[8] grâce à l’hégémonie du béton, de la ligne droite et de la standardisation de la construction.
Les exemples de cette architecture restent nombreux : de la Cité de 4000 (pour 4000 logements) à la Courneuve en Seine-Saint-Denis (93) aux logements de 15 étages aux balcons pétales, appelés « Chou-fleur » à Créteil en Val-de Marne (94) dessinés au début des années 70 par l’architecte Gérard Grandval. De la Cité des nuages à Nanterre dans les Hauts-de-Seine (92) à la Grande borne construite entre 1967 et 1971 sur le territoire des communes de Grigny et Viry-Châtillon, dans l’Essonne (91) en passant par la Noé à Chanteloup-les-Vignes dans le département des Yvelines (78) scénario du célèbre film La Haine[9] de Kassovits.
Récemment, plusieurs expositions photographiques se sont
concentrées sur cette nouvelle figure de l’urbanisme fonctionnaliste français de l’après-guerre. Par exemple Toit&Moi, 100 ans de logement social (2012), Les Grands ensembles 1960-2010 (2012) produite par l’école supérieure d’arts & médias de Caen/Cherbourg, selon un projet du Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication. Enfin l’exposition Photographie à l’œuvre, (2011-2012) d’Henri Salesse, photographe du service de l’inventaire du Ministère de la Reconstruction et de l’Urbanisme et Voyage en périphérie (2012) de Cyrus Cornut.
Il s’agissait là non seulement d’un progrès matériel, mais aussi démocratique, donnant ainsi à chaque citoyen, la possibilité d’accéder à son petit appartement doté de tous les conforts de l’époque. La recherche d’économie et de rapidité dans la conduite des chantiers portent à l’utilisation du béton comme matériel privilégié et à des plans architecturaux aussi simples que possible avec la réalisation de logements standardisés, dont les barres et les tours deviennent les figures principales : Au mitan des années cinquante, apparurent d’étranges formes urbaines. Des immeubles d’habitation de plus en plus longs et de plus en plus hauts, assemblés en blocs qui ne s’intégraient pas aux villes existantes. Ces blocs s’en différenciaient ostensiblement et parfois comme systématiquement, s’en isolaient. Ils semblaient faire ville à part. Surtout ils ne ressemblaient pas à ce qu’on avait l’habitude d’appeler ville. Et leur architecture aussi, qui était tellement déroutante. On les a nommés » grands ensembles. Bref, entre 1946 et 1975 le parc immobilier français passe de 12,7 millions à 21 millions de logements. Environ 8 millions de ceux-ci sont neufs, construits entre 1953-1975 – dont la moitié sous forme de grands ensembles – et près de 80 % des logements grâce à une aide de l’État avec des crédits publics. Le nombre de logements sociaux passe de moins de 500.000 à près de 3 millions, dont 43 % en région parisienne, où la demande est la plus forte[11]. Ce qui témoigne d’un effort énorme. Alors que l’hiver 1954 est particulièrement rigoureux, l’abbé Pierre lance un appel en faveur des sans-logis et déshérités et organise des collectes de vêtements et de nourriture pour les plus démunis. Cela nous rappelle également que les inégalités sociales restaient particulièrement importantes à l’époque, malgré les débuts de la croissance économique, et que la crise du logement n’était pas encore complètement résolue. C’est l’urbaniste Marcel Rotival dans un numéro d’Architecture d’Aujourd’hui de juin 1935 (vol.1, n°6, juin 1935, p.57) qui propose pour la première fois cette terminologie pour désigner les Habitations à Bon Marché (HBM) et leur transformation en Habitations à Loyer Modéré (HLM), par la loi du 21 juillet 1951: « Nous espérons, un jour, sortir des villes comme Paris, non seulement par l’avenue des Champs Elysées, la seule réalisation de tenue sans laquelle Paris n’existerait pas, mais sortir par Belleville, par Charonne, par Bobigny, etc., et trouver harmonieusement disposés le long de larges autostrades, au milieu de grands espaces boisés, de parcs, de stades, de grandes cités claires, bien orientées, lumineusement éclairées par le soleil. » Largement reprise depuis les années 1950 dans le jargon administratif et public, elle apparaît pour la première fois dans un texte officiel qu’en 1973 avec la Circulaire Guichard, alors Ministre de l’Aménagement du territoire, de l’Equipement, du Logement et du tourisme. Celui-ci met un terme à la politique initiée après-guerre afin « d’empêcher la réalisation des formes d’urbanisation désignées généralement sous le nom de “grands ensembles”, peu conforme aux aspirations des habitants et sans justification économique sérieuse ». Paradoxalement, le terme de grands ensembles s’officialise donc au moment même où ils son mis en question. ZUP est un acronyme qui signifie Zone à Urbaniser en Priorité. Elles ont été créées par le décret N°58-1464 du 31 décembre 1958, afin de planifier et d’encadrer sur le territoire national, le développement urbain pour répondre à la carence de logements face à l’accroissement démographique et favoriser enfin la résorption de l’habitat insalubre. Dans un deuxième temps est abordé le chapitre de la construction des cités et des grands ensembles, de l’architecture du renouveau qualifiée de "grandiose incontestablement". Rice-Eccles Stadium is an outdoor college football stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah, on the campus of the University of Utah. It is the home field of the Utah Utes of the Pacific-12 Conference. It served as the main stadium for the 2002 Winter Olympics; the Opening and Closing Ceremonies were held at the stadium, which was temporarily renamed "Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium".
The FieldTurf playing field runs in the traditional north-south configuration, and sits at an elevation of 4,657 feet (1,419 m) above sea level, 330 feet (100 m) above downtown Salt Lake City.

Hartlepool is a north east sea port 12 km north of Middlesbrough, founded in the 7th century AD. It became the official port of the County Palatine of Durham. The developing shipbuilding industry in West Hartlepool made it a target for the Germans in the First World War. Rapid industrial decline occurred after World War Two, resulting in much unemployment and dereliction. During the 1990s massive public investment revitalised the town, resulting in improved prospects.
• Whitby Street runs off Church Street. It is most fitting that this well appointed fish shop should be located here. Whitby is a North Yorkshire fishing town.

Wooly Mammoth tusks are a relic from a world that disappeared around 11,500 years ago, when Wooly Mammoths and many other species of large animal went extinct. During their peak, the Mammoths lived in the far north of Europe, Asia and North America. They were the biggest animals around. Woolies continued to grow well into adult life: females until age 25, males until as late as 40. The males stood up to eleven feet tall at the shoulder and weighed around six tons. Female Woolies, noticeably smaller, were more lightly built, weighing up to 4 tons and standing 8 ½ to 9 ½ feet tall. Newborn babies weighed a whopping 200 pounds at birth!
Nearly all Mammoth tusks are found in the permafrost of the far north, with most from Siberia. Once extracted from the tundra, a Wooly Mammoth tusk needs almost a year of preparation before it is ready to be displayed. The preparation helps offset tens of thousands of years spent freeze drying in the tundra. Preparators, as they are known, slowly and carefully return moisture to the tusk and repair the small cracks that nearly always form in these fossils. Once completed the tusks are ready for display.
One of the most noteworthy fossil specimens available to customers of touchstone gallery are our exceptional examples of Wooly Mammoth tusks. These pieces make great natural art displays and are true conversation showpieces. The tusks of an adult male Wooly were typically around 8-9 feet long and weighed 90-100 pounds. On females, tusks were usually 5-6 feet long and weighed around 25 pounds. As in days of old, these mammoths dominate their space! This fine adult male mammoth tusk is just under eight feet long from tip to butt along the outside of the tusk, and weighs approximately 100 pounds.

Piccoli anthem come girotondi on speed, tra spensieratezza a go-go e voci che si stiracchiano dentro cunicoli assordanti. Un pochino ripetitivo, certo, ma la strada è lunga e le possibilità di migliorare sono tante.

The 2019 inductees include the 1994 women’s volleyball team; Patricia Chabala, C’88 (softball); Dan Consuegra, C’06 (baseball); Nicole (Hinerman) Karr, C’04 (softball); Kenny Roberts, C’05 (men’s basketball); Edward Sagan, C’87 (men’s soccer); Dr. Terrance Smith, C’05 (men’s basketball); David Suski, C’06 (men’s soccer); and Tony Washam, C’05 (men’s basketball).
“The Athletic Hall of Fame is the highest level of recognition presented to student-athletes, coaches and teams at Saint Vincent College,” commented Shawn Gouch, director of alumni relations. “Each year, Saint Vincent formally recognizes student-athletes and teams who not only excelled in the classroom and on the field of athletic competition during their collegiate careers, but also excelled once leaving Saint Vincent. Herbitzheim liegt im ehemals bayerischen Teil des Saarlandes, war bis zur Gebiets- und Verwaltungsreform von 1974 selbstständige Gemeinde und gehörte verwaltungsmäßig zum Kreis St. Ingbert. Seit dem 1. Januar 1974 gehört der Ort zur Einheitsgemeinde Gersheim und damit dem Saarpfalz-Kreis an, dessen Verwaltungssitz Homburg ist. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung erfolgte im Jahr 1382. Damals wurde Herbitzheym, abgeleitet vom altdeutschen Rufnamen Herobod, als Besitz der Herren von Kirkel bezeichnet.
Im Bauernkrieg 1525 spielte der Herbitzheimer Haufen eine nennenswerte Rolle. Er erhielt seinen Namen, weil die Bauern des Blies- und Saargaus nach Herbitzheim gekommen waren, um sich zu sammeln. Von hier zogen sie nach Zabern, um dem Bauernführer Erasmus Gerber zu Hilfe zu eilen. Die meisten kamen bei diesem Vorhaben ums Leben.

Today I was with family for an early easter get-together/late birthday gift giving because my grandfather, aunt and I are the only ones that have birthdays at the beginning of the year and that always gets messed up. Nearly EVERYONE else's birthdays are around september, which used to make me sad as a kid because I would never get my gifts around the same time as everyone else, and I basically had to sit around when all of my cousins were getting things and be polite and shut my mouth. xD I don't mind it anymore at all (but i was a kid and i was a pouty little thing sometimes, haha!). I got more money for crafty stuff. Yay! Thank you Aunt Jane. =D
So anyway, off with that rambling. My step-grandmother took us to her "southern mansion" (as she calls it; it's more like an antique store gone wrong) to show us her reupholstering jobs. The outside is fabulous, though i totally spaced taking a decent picture. So the next few pictures will be from this place, along with the songs that have plagued me throughout the course of the day. xD

¿Sabes tú, quizás, de dónde es esta blanda flora, que yo no sé de dónde es, que enternece, cada día, el paisaje, y lo deja dulcemente rosado, blanco y celeste -más rosas, más rosas-, como un cuadro de Fray Angélico, el que pintaba la gloria de rodillas?

This is a photograph from the 3rd annual running of the Trim AC 10 Mile Road Race and Fun Run which was held in Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 5th February 2017 at 12:00. The race attracted over 1,200 participants which shows a 100% increase on last year's participation. The event shows growth year on year mirroring the growing popularity of the race. The race started on the Trim/Athboy road on the town's ring road and proceded to take an anti-clockwise loop out towards the village of Dunderry and townland of Kilbride before returning back to the Trim Industrial Estate for the finish. The route is held on quiet country roads with some hills at 3, 6, 8 mile segments.

The weather for this year's race was perfect for racing. There was a hard frost overnight but this brought clear bright skies and crisp air. There was no real wind to speak of.
Waterstops were provided at the 4.5 and 7 mile marks on the course. All access roads were well stewarded. The event was sponsored by Bewleys 1840 and many local business establishments. Credit must go to the Trim AC team for their flawless organisation. If the first three years of this year are anything to go on then this race will continue to grow. For runners around the North Leinster area this 10 mile race serves as a perfect training progress stepping stone to the Bohermeen Half Marathon which will take place in March 2016 and is located only 15 minutes drive from Trim.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. Hijiyama-shita is a Hiroden station (tram stop) on Hiroden Hijiyama Line, located at the foot of Mt.Hijiyama, in Hijiyama-cho, Minami-ku, Hiroshima.

The streetcar "Hiroden" is useful and cheap transportation in Hiroshima-city. They have eight routes in Hiroshima-city and only Miyajima line route goes out of city. The history of Hiroden is old and it has ever been the means of transportations for Hiroshima citizens for a hundred year, and the first transportation which started to run just after bombed from Atomic Bomb was Hiroden. Even now two bombed streetcar carriages run in the city.

Model 800 was produced with the latest technologies at that time to improve the efficiency of the energy saving, the comfort of the ride and the reduction of the noise. It is equipped with a chopper control system with a regeneration brake.
The 4th annual Toronto Park Summit took place on February 22nd at Daniels Spectrum in Regent Park.

Toronto Park People's Park Summit is the premier event celebrating and sharing the successes and opportunities of Toronto’s 1600+ parks. This year’s theme, Reimagine Our Parks, explored creative ways volunteers and partners can transform parks into the heart of their communities. 400 of Toronto’s most passionate park advocates and champions came together at the 2014 Toronto Park Summit.
The keynote adress was given by Adrian Benepe. Adrian was New York City’s Parks Commissioner under Mayor Bloomberg from 2002 to 2012. He is currently a Senior Vice President and Director of City Park Development for the Trust for Public Land, the world’s leading independent organization supporting the protection and enhancement of city parks. Adrian is one of the leading global experts on connecting the public, private, and nonprofit sectors in public-space development and management and his role with TPL is to provide advice on using partnerships to improve parks in cities across the US. As NYC’s Parks Commissioner, Adrian oversaw a renaissance in New York City’s parks system including adding 730 acres of parkland and overseeing such exciting new parks as the High Line, Battery Park and Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Regent Park is undergoing a massive transformation, which is being looked at around the world as a model by which challenged urban neighbourhoods can be re-imagined and re-created as healthy, sustainable communities. See and hear about the new state-of-the-art neighbourhood amenities (including the six-acre park!) that are at the centre of this transformation and are sure to be a destination for the entire City!

The transmitter site of KSPN/710 AM, which was known in its glory years (1930 to 1997) as KMPC. It has in recent years been the West Coast flagship station for ESPN, with all-sports programming, including Los Angeles Lakers play-by-play.
It has long been 50,000 watts by day and 10,000 watts by night, and directional at night, using all three towers, to the south-southwest, across Los Angeles.
The facility sits on a large spread of land in the center of the San Fernando Valley (specifically, Valley Glen): land that is in the middle of suburbs and surely more valuable than the station itself at this point, as listening to the AM band is tanking.
This is surely why the owner, Disney, received a construction permit to move to the four-tower facility of KRDC/1110 in Irwindale, east of Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley. There it will be 35,000 watts by day and 2,500 watts by night: a smaller signal (especially at night) from a lesser location.
After that happens, this land will be sold, and the towers will come down. My bet, as I write this (the same day I shot it in April 2021), is that Disney will move KSPN's programming to the much bigger signal on 1110 AM (50,000 watts by day and 20,000 watts by night), and put something else on the new smaller signal on 710 AM.
So I shot these because I wanted to make sure the facility was honored photographically before it was gone.

Middle Creek is a near 6,000 acre Wildlife Management Area managed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission primarily for waterfowl, grassland nesting birds, and wetland dependent species. Middle Creek hosts an interactive visitor center, seasonal wildlife driving tour, and over twenty miles of hiking trails. Other opportunities are endless for the outdoor enthusiast such as wildlife viewing, special hunts, and other forms of outdoor recreation. Middle Creek is one of just six Globally Important Bird Areas in the state.
