A sua especial condição de transexual lhe trazia inúmeros dissabores aos quais não lhe era dado suportar, injúria, agrura e constrangimento ilegal sofridos. Faiza passou a apresentar depressão, comportamento delirante persecutório e sintomas psicóticos from Ruim no Psicológico .por PRECONCEITO, BULLYING, INJUSTIÇA
A requerente é portadora de transtornos psiquiátricos, quais sejam, transtorno bipolar e de identidade de gênero (CID F31 + F64.2), conforme se atesta pelos laudos médicos acostados, sendo portanto, transexual feminina. Faiza Khálida por diversas vezes informou à administração pública municipal seu estado de saúde mental, o que foi formalizado nos autos dos processos administrativos números 04/000411/03, 04/002743/03, 001497/03, 002062/03.
Devido à intensificação de transtornos de ordem psicológica, no ano de 2008 a usuária Faiza Khálida faltou sucessivamente. A usuária Faiza Khálida desde maio de 2008 encontrava-se sob os cuidados da médica psiquiatra Dra. - RIO SEM HOMOFOBIA from Ruim no Psicológico .por PRECONCEITO, BULLYING, INJUSTIÇA
Como sói acontecer, a sua especial condição de transexual lhe trazia inúmeros dissabores aos quais não lhe era dado suportar, como se depreende dos Termos Circunstanciados colacionados, referentes a injúria e constrangimento ilegal sofridos. Durante o processo de adequação de sua conformação física à psicológica, a utilização de hormônios, bem como a cirurgia de transgenitalização, em muito potencializaram as agruras que lhe eram impingidas, mormente em âmbito laboral. A discriminação advinda da diversidade sexual, consubstanciada sobretudo em ameaças homofóbicas restou por agravar sensivelmente o estado psíquico de Faiza Khálida já combalido pelos transtorno mencionadas.
Seu prenome masculino sempre lhe causou muito constrangimento, sobretudo atualmente, após a operação de reversão sexual. Com efeito, a requerente Faiza Khálida passou a apresentar depressão profunda, comportamento delirante persecutório, diagnosticando-se sintomas psicóticos, conforme laudo médico susodito.
Destarte, em virtude da debilidade de seu psiquismo, Faiza Khálida começou a deixar de exercer com regularidade as funções inerentes a seu cargo, fato que motivou a instauração, no dia 26/06/2009, de inquéritos administrativos, para apurar a práticar de infração administrativa de inassiduidade habitual, previsão no art. 139 da LC 014/97 que dispõe sobre o Estatuto dos Servidores da Prefeitura Municipal de Belford Roxo.
Usuária Faiza Khálida Fagundes Coutinho - "a pressão social e o constrangimento sofridos fizeram com que apresentasse sintomas de depressão, relatados pela psiquiatra no prontuário da usuária, e este fato a fez deixar de comparecer ao trabalho". Quando da conclusão dos apuratórios (procedimentos números 04/002133/09 e 04/2132/09) Faiza Khálida acabou por receber pena de demissão nos dois cargos que exercia, sendo, portanto, excluída dos quadros de servidores da indigitada municipalidade. Após o reestabelecimento de sua saúde psíquica, Faiza Khálida peticionou, administrativamente, sua reintegração aos cargos anteriormente ocupados, todavia, se viu frustrada em seu intento, considerando o indeferimento do pedido reintegratório nos autos do procedimento administrativo número 04/02006/2011.

6- Diretora Vera Lúcia Castelar (mat. 53165) preparou relatório técnico criminoso em 2002 para me afastar da Escola Municipal São Bentos nas 2 matrículas. Eu fui ameaçada de ruína completa por causa deste relatório pela subsecretária de educação Rosângela Maria Gonçalves de Oliveira em 2002 e ameaçada de morte caso chegasse a 100 metros da escola em que eu trabalhava sofrendo discriminação. Após eu pedir reparação pelos DANOS, AMEAÇAS, CONSTRANGIMENTOS E TRAUMAS que me ocorreram por causa deste relatório técnico analisado também pelos 8 supervisores educacionais entre eles Jorge Silva (mat. 54368) , Antônio Carlos Lustosa (mat. 54434) e Joelma Milão, o relatório sumiu dentro da secretaria municipal de educação de Belford Roxo sendo anunciado em 2005 como se ele nunca tivesse existido. Eu continuava sendo tratada como homem na secretaria de educação mesmo após cirurgia transgenital.
7- Em 2005 a reportagem do Jornal O Dia informava que eu havia começado a tomar hormônios 3 anos antes em processo transexualizador. Mesmo após cirurgia e decisão judicial o nome social ainda não era mudado no diário da escola e na ficha funcional. Nesse momento o diretor da escola municipal Jorge Ayres me proibia de usar saia ou vestido conforme relatei em processo de 2006.
8- Em 2007, voltei a caminhar para o agravamento do meu estado mental revivendo traumas do passado na rede de educação em Belford Roxo após orientadora Conceição dizer que eu deveria sair da escola por ser transexual, promover inquérito administrativo disciplinar contra mim, ameaça de morte e dificuldades como abaixo-assinado para sair da escola.
20/08/2007 - A Sra Faiza Khálida apresentava tristeza, falta de prazer nas atividades, choro fácil, irritabilidade, impaciência com os alunos (era professora), insônia, ansiedade, cefaleias frequentes E DIFICULDADES PARA CUMPRIR SUAS TAREFAS NO TRABALHO from Ruim no Psicológico .por PRECONCEITO, BULLYING, INJUSTIÇA

9- Em dezembro de 2007, Procurador-Geral de Belford Roxo Lorival Almeida de Oliveira e José Domingos Lucena abriram inquérito promovido pela orientadora Conceição que me dizia que eu não podia estar na escola Jorge Ayres por ser transexual. A advogada da Secretaria Estadual de Direitos Difusos pediu cópia do processo para ela poder me defender. Não me foi permitido ter cópia do processo nem mesmo quando fui intimada a assinar a punição administrativa na secretaria de educação, sendo lá tratada como homem.
10- O contexto profissional em 2008 me causava abatimento e depressão, os meus 2 aparelhos de som que eu utilizava para dar aulas foram roubados ao mesmo tempo nas 2 escolas municipais em que eu lecionava. A orientadora da escola teria tratado com o rapaz que entrou na escola para danificar minha câmera digital na sala dos professores na frente dela.
11- O relatório discriminatório da diretora Vera Lucia Castelar em 2003 me ocasionou diversos danos inclusive psicológicos, mentais e administrativos, este relatório foi usado para me ameaçar, coagir e chantagear. No relatório técnico da diretora constava a mentira que eu não havia entregado o planejamento. Isso causava indignação inclusive da professora que havia entregado o planejamento junto comigo.

12- Em 2008 eu não conseguia desenvolver as minhas atividades devido ao meu quadro mental. A pressão social e o constrangimento sofrido fizeram com que eu apresentasse sintomas como depressão relatados em prontuários médicos, e este fato me fez deixar de comparecer ao trabalho.
13- Secretaria Municipal de Educação de Belford Roxo e Procuradoria Municipal silenciaram o preconceito que eu passei na rede pública de educação.
14- O julgamento fundamentalista religioso moral condenatório da identidade de gênero e da orientação sexual, piadinhas, deboches, ofensas, agressões e desrespeitos no trabalho me causavam cefaleia, choro, tristeza, ideação suicida e depressão desde 2003. Esse preconceito social cisnormativo me levava ao sofrimento e a ideação suicida.
15- A médica psiquiatra atestou em maio de 2008 que dificilmente haveria solução do meu quadro de adoecimento mental porque não havia resolução dos problemas sociais e referentes ao meu trabalho que me estressavam.
16- Para me condenar em inquérito administrativo disciplinar, procurador-geral de Belofrd Roxo Lorival Almeida de Oliveira mentiu em processo declarando que eu havia recebido cópia de processo, não permitindo que a advogada da Secretaria Estadual de Direitos Humanos e Difusos do Estado do Rio de Janeiro recebesse cópia do processo.
17- Orientadora pedagógica mobilizava para me tirar da escola. Vivenciava o isolamento.
18- Funcionários públicos municipais de Belford Roxo desrespeitavam a identidade de gênero de transexuais e transgêneros.
19- Transfobia que sofri no banheiro da Prefeitura em 13/10/2008 com o subsecretário Paulo Allevato RG 3473270 IFP.
20- Uma semana após eu ser levada em 2009 a secretaria municipal de educação de Belford Roxo por uma colega também funcionária pública do município mostrando ao subsecretário de educação Miguel de Sousa Ramiro o laudo médico atestando que eu estava comprometida para o trabalho e para a vida social, o subsecretário municipal de educação Miguel de Sousa Ramiro me disse pelo seu telefone celular que esqueceria que ele tinha conhecimento do laudo médico psiquiátrico porque ele tinha que obedecer as ordens do supervisor Jorge Silva (mat. 54368).
21- Em tudo o que me acontecia no meu trabalho de professora da rede municipal de Belford Roxo, nos documentos e relatórios administrativos, não era admitida essa realidade que eu enfrentava com todos os medos, embates, incertezas, discriminações, constrangimentos, prejuízos emocionais e psicológicos. Na escola, eu me sentia um ser do outro mundo em espetáculo circense, alvo do julgamento, conceitos e preconceitos de todos os agentes. As mudanças hormonais, físicas e cerebrais também não eram levadas em conta quando se avaliava minha conduta profissional. Eu era uma funcionária pública julgada fora da minha realidade que eu sou, fui e vivia. Somadas as alterações físicas eu tinha osteopenia, hérnias de disco com irradiação nas pernas e braços, fraturas, grande redução e aumento de peso chegando aos 100 kg, pressão alta e baixa. Eu atravessava um processo transexualizador. O direito à saúde que eu tinha por ser diagnosticada transexual não era apenas a questão da cirurgia transgenital paga com minhas economias de trabalho. Era um processo de adequação física, psicológica,mental, profissional, afetiva e social.

Pinto (mat. 80/28.585) indicada e fundamentalista religiosa, de posse do meu laudo médico psiquiátrico comprobatório de transtorno bipolar incapacitante, CRM, endereço e telefone da médica que me avaliava desde maio de 2008 e relato sobre problemas sociais relacionados a transexualidade, transfobia, homofobia, assédio e bullying, ignorou tudo e negou por 2 vezes a solicitação determinando que eu ficasse excluída do serviço público de Belford Roxo municipal.

Die Salzburgerin setzte sich mit klarem Vorsprung auf RTL- Weltcup- Leaderin Tina Maze aus Slowenien (+1,10 Sekunden) und auf die Französin Tessa Worley (+ 1,18) durch und fixierte so den zweiten Weltcupsieg ihrer Karriere. Den ersten hatte sie vor exakt einem Jahr, am 28. Dezember 2011 in Lienz, gefeiert.

The closed asylum at Whittingham Preston, revisited March 2008
Whittingham Hospital opened officially on 1st April 1893, built by bricks made on site, the source being what became to be known as the "duck pond" but referred to on maps as the "fish pond". The kiln for the manufacture of the bricks was situated, apparently, in what is known "Super's Hill Woods", at the back of the hospital, on the road to Grimsargh. The hospital was built in four "phases", the first being St Luke's (the Main), followed by St John's (the Annex), then Cameron House, and lastly St Margaret's (the New or West Annex). In addition to these 'divisions' there was also a Sanatorium of fourteen beds built for Infectious Diseases, which became known as Fryars' Villa, later to become part of the accomodation for the resident staff. The hospital served the community for almost 150 years, and, in its' day, was a virtually self sufficient community.
Proposal for an additional Asylum within Lancashire was called for and, following decisions as a result of the Local Government Act of 1888, it was decided to build an Asylum. The first choice of site was just behind Fulwood Barracks in Preston, but this gave way to a preferential site at Got Field Farm, to be known as Whittingham. This site was chosen, primarily, because there was a good natural supply of fresh water more readily available than other sites, and it was within easy reach of Preston.
On completion of St Luke's division, the first part of the hospital to be built, rules for staff were published; staff had to be on duty by 0600 and retire to bed by 2200. They were allowed to go out one day every three weeks and one Sunday every month. Any 'attendant' who lost a patient, had to pay the expenses incurred in their retrun to the hospital. In 1878 Cooper & Tullis built the Annex (St John's division) following the purchase of 68 acres of land. The Annex was completed in 1880 and then accommodated 115 patients. The Post Office was constructed within St John's division with the agreement of the Postmaster General; the hospital now had its own Post Office! In 1884 telephone communications were established with Preston at an annual cost of £20. In the same year, an Infectious Diseases Sanatorium was established, known as Fryars' Villa, named after Alderman James Fryar who, at one time, was Chairman of the Hospital Committee.
In 1890 the "Lunacy Act" was passed by Parliament; this was one of the greatest pieces of legislation in the history of Asylum. 1892 saw arrangements being made for the grounds to be illuminated by the new 'electric lamps', and this was completed in 1894.
In 1901 the introduction of 10/- (ten shillings - (50 pence today)) per week was introduced for staff on annual leave in lieu of rations. The attendant staff wanted a shorted working week at this time, as their recorded working week was 98 hours! Annual leave at this time was; 10 days for Attendants; 12 days for Second Charges and 14 days for Charge Attendants. The daily diet of patients and staff included one glass of Ale which was brewed on site in the hospital's own brewery!
1912 saw the construction of the New Annex (or West Annex) to become known as St Margaret's division; prior to this, Cameron House was completed and opened and named after James Cameron.
In 1914 the Clock Tower, which was a prominent landmark, rising from above the main corridor in St Luke's division, was taken down, never to be returned to its place of splendour, and faded into history - it is only seen on very old photographs, some of which we hope to include in later editions. St Margaret's officially opened in the same year, 1914, and the patient population in the following year, 1915, is recorded as being 2,820.
In 1918/19 the New West Annex (St Margaret's) was evacuated as an Asylum and turned over to the Military for their use in the care of sick and injured from the First World War. There are four graves in the hospital cemetery which are under the care of the War Graves Commission relating to casualties of the First World War (there is one from the Second World War too, although this one appears to be the grave of an Italian internee).
Committee records show at this time, the change of name from "Whittingham Asylum" to "Whittingham Mental Hospital".

Anglesey Abbey is a country house, formerly a priory, in the village of Lode, 5 1⁄2 miles (8.9 km) northeast of Cambridge, England. The house and its grounds are owned by the National Trust and are open to the public as part of the Anglesey Abbey, Garden & Lode Mill property, although some parts remain the private home of the Fairhaven family. The 98 acres (400,000 m²) of landscaped grounds are divided into a number of walks and gardens, with classical statuary, topiary and flowerbeds. The grounds were laid out in an 18th-century style by the estate's last private owner, the 1st Baron Fairhaven, in the 1930s. A large pool, the Quarry Pool, is believed to be the site of a 19th-century coprolite mine. Lode Water Mill, dating from the 18th century was restored to working condition in 1982 and now sells flour to visitors. The 1st Lord Fairhaven also improved the house and decorated its interior with a valuable collection of furniture, pictures and objets d'art. A community of Augustinian canons built a priory here, known as Anglesea or Anglesey Priory, some time during the reign of Henry I (i.e., between 1100 and 1135), and acquired extra land from the nearby village of Bottisham in 1279. The canons were expelled in 1535 during the Dissolution of the Monasteries. The former priory was acquired around 1600 by Thomas Hobson, who converted it to a country house for his son-in-law, Thomas Parker, retaining a few arches from the original priory. At that time the building's name was changed to "Anglesey Abbey", which sounded grander than the original "Anglesey Priory".
In the late 18th century, the house was owned by Sir George Downing, the founder of Downing College, Cambridge.
Further alterations to the building were carried out in 1861.
Huttleston (1896–1966) and Henry (1900–1973) Broughton bought the site in 1926 and made improvements to the house. They were the sons of Urban Broughton (1857–1929), who had made a fortune in the mining and railway industries in America. Henry married, leaving the abbey to his brother, then 1st Lord Fairhaven, in 1930. Henry became the 2nd Lord Fairhaven. Huttleston used his wealth to indulge his interests in history, art, and garden design, and to lead an eighteenth-century lifestyle at the house. On his death, Huttleston left the abbey to the National Trust so that the house and gardens could "represent an age and way of life that was quickly passing". In 1926 Anglesey Abbey was bought by Huttleston Broughton, later Lord Fairhaven. He fully restored the house which had fallen into disrepair and began to collect beautiful furniture, artworks and statuary. All of these can be seen at the Abbey today. Broughton (full name Urban Huttleston Rogers Broughton) was born in 1896 in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. His father, Urban Broughton, had amassed a considerable fortune. His mother was Cara Leland Rogers the daughter of multimillionaire American oil magnate Henry Huttleston Rogers. Rogers had died unexpectedly in 1909 and Urban Broughton had taken over the management of a large part of the Rogers empire. The Broughton family had moved to England in 1912 when Huttleston was sixteen. They lived in Park Lane, Mayfair. Huttleston was educated at Harrow and the Royal Military College at Sandhurst. In 1916 he became a lieutenant in the 1st Life Guards. He served during the First World War, and retired from the military in 1924. He obtained the title Baron Fairhaven in 1929. One of Huttleston’s great achievements was the establishment of the garden at the house. In 1964, when Broughton was still living, Lanning Roper wrote a book entitled The Gardens of Anglesey Abbey, in which he described the careful planning of this remarkable garden with its many vistas, avenues, rare and common trees, pools, statues and river temples. He describes the way in which huge areas of sky and mown grass were, been used to balance symmetrical planting and how Broughton used the trees and shrubs to make groups of contrasting colour and foliage. To commemorate the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937, Broughton planted an extensive avenue of trees with a crossing avenue at the far end. The trees used were London plane alternating with horse chestnut in four rows copy that planted in Windsor Great Park.
Huttleston did not marry and had no heirs. He died in 1966 and left Anglesey Abbey to the National Trust.

Religious devotion, at times, in Sicily seems to take on the face of women, like that of the two Sicilian saints Agata and Lucia along the Ionian coast of Sicily, or the face of Rosalia, on the opposite side, in Palermo. The lives of Agata and Lucia are closely linked, even though they never met. Agata was martyred in 251, Lucia was not yet born, she was born 32 years later. On February 5, 301, she went to Catania to pray at Agata's tomb to invoke her intercession, hoping to obtain the healing of her mother, who was seriously ill. Agata appeared to her in a dream, confirmed her mother's healing (her mother was healed), but also confided in her that she would be martyred because of her faith in Christ: Lucia was martyred on December 13, 304, during the persecutions of Diocletian. What has been said as an incipit of the photographic story that I present here, created on the occasion of the celebration that Catania dedicates to its Patron Saint Agatha, described as the most important religious celebration in Catania, also considered the third Catholic religious celebration in the world (first are the “Semana Santa” in Seville, and the “Corpus Domini” in Cuzco in Peru), a ranking that takes into account the huge number of people who participate every year. The celebration of Saint Agatha takes place on several dates, from 3 to 6 February, on 12 February and on 17 August: the February celebration is linked to her martyrdom, the August celebration commemorates the return to Catania of her mortal remains, initially taken to Constantinople as spoils of war by the Byzantine general Maniaces, and remained there for 86 years. The young Agata lived in the 3rd century, she belonged to a rich patrician family of Catania, since she was young she had embraced the cult of the Christian religion, the governor Quinziano (or Quintiliano) fell in love with her, Agata to escape him hid in his house in Palermo, Quinziano managed to find out where she was hiding, so he had her taken to Catania, here his attempts to bend Agata's will and make her give in to his flattery were in vain, after her umpteenth refusal he changed his intentions, accused her of being of the Christian religion, condemned her to death, not without first having led her to martyrdom, he amputated her by tearing off both her breasts, in this way in addition to the torment of physical pain, the psychological one was added, humiliating the girl in her femininity, then he gave her death by dragging her on burning coals, Agata was 20 years old. The float is pulled by hand, by the many devotees who wish to participate spontaneously in this very particular rite, using two large cords more than 200 meters long, to the end of which are connected four handles. The photographs were taken on February 4 and 5, 2024 and 2025, they are not organized in series taking into account either the year or the days; I obtained a "bilocation effect" by using different shooting points in the two years, visible especially when the float passes through the Porta Uzeda; I made portraits of the devotees, posed and not, in particular the portrait of a devotee who seemed almost enraptured in ecstasy at the passage of Sant'Agata (and perhaps she really was), it represented for me the absolute, profound and concrete synthesis of the attachment of the "citizens" (synonym of "devotees") of Catania towards this young martyr, who has become a symbol of those who oppose violence against women, and protector of women suffering from breast cancer. I photographed two beautiful and sweet models who embodied the "two ages of Agata", with the aim of raising awareness among women in the prevention of breast cancer (the ceramic decorations corresponding to the breasts are the work of "Nenè sculptures of art by Nancy Coco); I captured in some images, the custom of some devotees, to carry with them images of loved ones who passed away too soon (photos placed on candles or printed on the characteristic white habit, called "sacco", which is part of the characteristic way of dressing of the devotees); finally I thank the owner of the Beniamin Art Gallery, in via Umberto, an artist himself, for giving me the opportunity to photograph the Pop icon exhibited in his gallery entitled "Aga Pop".

La devozione religiosa, a volte, in Sicilia sembra assumere il volto delle donne, come quello delle due sante siciliane Agata e Lucia lungo la fascia Ionica della costa sicula, od il volto di Rosalia, sul versante opposto, in quel di Palermo. Le vite di Agata e Lucia sono tra loro legate in maniera strettamente indissolubile, pur non essendosi mai conosciute, Agata morì martirizzata nel 251, Lucia non era ancora nata, nascerà 32 anni dopo, il 5 febbraio del 301 si recherà a Catania a pregare sul sepolcro di Agata per invocare la sua intercessione sperando così di ottenere la guarigione di sua madre, gravemente malata, Agata le appare in sogno, le conferma la guarigione di sua madre (sua madre ebbe la guarigione), ma anche, le confida, che per lei ci sarà il martirio a causa della sua fede in Cristo: Lucia fu martirizzata il 13 dicembre del 304, durante le persecuzioni di Diocleziano. Quanto detto come incipit del racconto fotografico che qui presento, realizzato in occasione della festa che Catania dedica alla sua Santa Patrona Agata, descritta come la più importante festa religiosa di Catania, considerata anche la terza festa religiosa cattolica al mondo (prime la “Semana Santa” di Siviglia, ed il “Corpus Domini” di Cuzco in Perù), graduatoria che tiene conto del grandissimo numero di persone ogni anno vi partecipano. La festa di Santa’Agata si svolge in più date, dal 3 al 6 febbraio, il 12 febbraio ed il 17 agosto: la ricorrenza di febbraio è legata al suo martirio, quella di Agosto rievoca il ritorno a Catania delle sue spoglie mortali, portate inizialmente a Costantinopoli come bottino di guerra dal generale bizantino Maniace, e li rimaste per 86 anni. La giovane Agata visse nel 3° secolo, apparteneva ad una ricca famiglia patrizia di Catania, sin dalla giovane età aveva abbracciato il culto per la religione cristiana, di lei si invaghì il governatore Quinziano (o Quintiliano), Agata per sfuggirgli si nascose in una sua casa a Palermo, Quinziano riuscì a sapere dove si nascondeva, quindi la fece condurre a Catania, qui i suoi tentativi di piegare la volontà di Agata e farla cedere alle sue lusinghe furono vani, all’ennesimo suo rifiuto egli mutò i suoi propositi, la accusò di essere di religione cristiana, la condannò a morte, non senza averla prima condotta al martirio, le amputò strappandole entrambi i seni, in tal modo oltre allo strazio del dolore fisico, si aggiungeva quello psicologico, umiliando la ragazza nella sua femminilità, poi le diede la morte trascinandola sui carboni ardenti, Agata aveva 20 anni. Dopo la sua morte si iniziò a diffondere il culto verso di lei, anche i pagani iniziarono a venerare la sua figura, si hanno notizie sulle sue origini già a partire dal 252, anno successivo alla sua morte: gli abitanti di Catania erano orgogliosi di questa giovane donna che si ribellò al volere del dittatore. La festa per Sant’Agata inizia il 3 febbraio, si ha la processione “per l’offerta della cera”, escono lungo le vie della città le due settecentesche carrozze del senato trainate da cavalli, fanno la loro comparsa “le candelore”; il 4 febbraio la festa inizia con la “Messa dell’Aurora” che si celebra nella cattedrale, dopo il busto reliquiario della Santa e lo scrigno d’argento, vengono messi sulla “vara” (o “fercolo”), per essere portati in processione nel suo “giro esterno”, la processione inizia attraversando la "Porta Uzeda" e giungendo così agli archi della marina, la processione quindi circoscrive il centro storico della città, recandosi nei luoghi ove avvenne il martirio di Agata; il 5 febbraio si celebra la “Messa Pontificale”, in questa occasione mettendosi in fila nella cattedrale, si può andare a vedere il busto reliquiario della Santa, col sopraggiungere della sera, busto e scrigno, vengono nuovamente messi sulla pesante vara per l’ultima processione, che percorre il “giro interno” (o “giro nobile”), che attraversa il centro storico di Catania, processione preceduta dal passaggio dei ceri accesi portati in spalla dai devoti (di vario peso e dimensioni, alcuni raggiungono dimensioni e peso eccezionali, storicamente questi ceri illuminavano, quando non esisteva l’energia elettrica, il passaggio della Santa), poi passano le “candelore”, sono dei giganteschi e pesanti "candelabri" in legno, in stile barocco, dipinti in oro, ognuna rappresenta una antica corporazione (macellai, pescivendoli, panettieri, pizzicagnoli, fruttivendoli, ecc.), infine passa la vara con Sant’Agata, il momento tanto atteso, col busto reliquiario che racchiude al suo interno alcune parti del suo corpo, le altre parti del corpo si trovano all’interno dello scrigno, in tal modo, con entrambi sulla vara, tutto il corpo di Agata può percorrere le strade della città di Catania. La vara è trainata a mano, dai tantissimi devoti che desiderano partecipare spontaneamente a questo rito così particolare, tramite due grossi cordoni lunghi più di 200 metri, al cui capo sono collegate quattro maniglie. Le fotografie sono state realizzate il 4 ed il 5 febbraio del 2024 e del 2025, esse non sono organizzate in serie tenendo conto né dell’anno, nè delle giornate; ho ottenuto un “effetto di bilocazione” sfruttando differenti punti di ripresa nei due anni, visibile soprattutto quando la vara passa attraverso la Porta Uzeda; ho realizzato ritratti dei devoti, posati e non, in particolare il ritratto di una devota che sembrava quasi rapita in estasi al passaggio di Sant’Agata (e forse lo era veramente), ha rappresentato per me la sintesi assoluta, profonda e concreta dell’attaccamento dei “cittadini” (sinonimo di “devoti”) catanesi nei confronti di questa giovane martire, diventata simbolo di chi si oppone alla violenza sulle donne, e protettrice delle donne ammalate di cancro al seno. Ho fotografato due belle e dolci modelle che impersonavano le “due età di Agata”, con lo scopo di sensibilizzare le donne nella prevenzione delle neoplasie alla mammella (i decori in ceramica in corrispondenza dei seni, sono opera di “Nenè sculture d’arte di Nancy Coco); ho colto in alcune immagini, l’usanza di alcuni devoti, di recare con se immagini di persone care scomparse troppo presto (foto messe sui ceri o stampate sul caratteristico saio bianco, chiamato “sacco”, che fa parte del modo caratteristico di vestire dei devoti); infine ringrazio il proprietario della Beniamin Art Gallery, in via Umberto, artista egli stesso, per avermi dato la possibilità di fotografare l’icona Pop esposta nella sua galleria dal titolo “Aga Pop”.

The Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Turkish: Sultanahmet Camii) is a historical mosque in Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey and the capital of the Ottoman Empire (from 1453 to 1923). The mosque is one of several mosques known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior. It was built between 1609 and 1616, during the rule of Ahmed I. Like many other mosques, it also comprises a tomb of the founder, a madrasah and a hospice. The Sultan Ahmed Mosque has become one of the greatest tourist attractions of Istanbul.
After the humiliating Peace of Zsitvatorok and the unfavourable result of the wars with Persia, Sultan Ahmed I decided to build a large mosque in Istanbul to placate Allah. This would be the first imperial mosque in more than forty years. Whereas his predecessors had paid for their mosques with their war booty, Sultan Ahmed I had to withdraw the funds from the treasury, because he had not won any notable victories. This provoked the anger of the ulema, the Muslim legal scholars.
The mosque was to be built on the site of the palace of the Byzantine emperors, facing the Hagia Sophia (at that time the most venerated mosque in Istanbul) and the hippodrome, a site of great symbolic significance. Large parts of the southern side of the mosque rest on the foundations, the vaults and the undercrofts of the Great Palace. Several palaces, already built on the same spot, had to be bought (at considerable price) and pulled down, especially the palace of Sokollu Mehmet Paşa, and large parts of the Sphendone (curved tribune with U-shaped structure of the hippodrome).
Construction of the mosque started in August 1609 when the sultan himself came to break the first sod. It was his intention that this would become the first mosque of his empire. He appointed his royal architect Sedefhar Mehmet Ağa, a pupil and senior assistant of the famous architect Sinan as the architect in charge of the construction. The organization of the work was described in meticulous detail in eight volumes, now in the library of the Topkapı Palace. The opening ceremonies were held in 1617 (although the gate of the mosque records 1616) and the sultan was able to pray in the royal box (hünkâr mahfil). But the building wasn't finished yet in this last year of his reign, as the last accounts were signed by his successor Mustafa I.
The design of the Sultan Ahmed Mosque is the culmination of two centuries of both Ottoman mosque and Byzantine church development. It incorporates some Byzantine elements of the neighboring Hagia Sophia with traditional Islamic architecture and is considered to be the last great mosque of the classical period. The architect has ably synthesized the ideas of his master Sinan, aiming for overwhelming size, majesty and splendour, but the interior lacks his creative thinking.

The visit and guided tour of Poblet Monastery.
Monks still lives in this monastery. It was restored in the 20th century, having been ruined in the 19th century. There are tombs here of the Kings and Queens of Aragon.
The Royal Abbey of Santa Maria de Poblet (Catalan: Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Poblet) is a Cistercian monastery, founded in 1151, located at the foot of the Prades Mountains, in the comarca of Conca de Barberà, in Catalonia (Spain). It was founded by Cistercian monks from France on lands conquered from the Moors. The main architect was Arnau Bargués.
This monastery was the first of three sister monasteries, known as the Cistercian triangle, that helped consolidate power in Catalonia in the 12th century. (The other two are Vallbona de les Monges and Santes Creus.)
Poblet was one of the two royal pantheons of the kings of the Crown of Aragon since James I of Aragon (along with Monastery of San Juan de la Peña). Some of the most important royal sepulchres have alabaster statues that lie over the tomb. The kings have lion sculptures at their feet, while the queens have dogs.
Peter IV of Aragon (1319 – 1387) made it a condition, under solemn oath at the moment of crowning, that all the Aragonese kings be buried there. Only Ferdinand II of Aragon broke the oath, after his kingdom had been merged with the Kingdom of Castile, and was buried in Granada.

Breve historia
En octubre de 1910 se colocó la primera piedra de la llamada Ermita Sabatina en terrenos de Tacubaya. El 16 de julio de 1912 se bendijo.En 1914, el Delegado Apostólico se opuso a que los frailes carmelitas atendieran la ermita Sabatina, por lo que las religiosas de san Francisco y después las Terciarias Carmelitas de México (hoy Carmelitas Misioneras de Santa Teresa) la tuvieron bajo su cargo hasta 1924 en que tuvieron que dejarla debido a la persecución religiosa de esos años. En 1936 se solicitó autorización al presidente de la República para reanudar el culto público en la Ermita Sabatina, pero la respuesta fue negativa. Poco después, el encargado de negocios de la embajada de Cuba en México solicitó la reapertura del culto, arguyendo que sería para miembros de su embajada. En esa ocasión la respuesta fue favorable y en diciembre de 1938 los carmelitas descalzos regresaron a la ermita. Poco antes Roma había autorizado la adquisición de un terreno adyacente a la ermita. El 29 de abril de 1939 el arzobispo de México entregó formalmente a los frailes la Ermita Sabatina y en 1940 se establecieron las primeras asociaciones: Orden Tercera del Carmen, cofradía del Carmen, Pía Unión de Santa Teresa y Archicofradía del Niño Jesús de Praga.En febrero de 1941 el gobierno de México autorizó la construcción de la nueva iglesia y en diciembre de 1942 el delegado provincial colocó la primera piedra del nuevo templo. Los cultos comenzaron en enero de 1950. Posteriormente, en 1956 el Arzobispo de México elevó la ermita a la categoría de Santuario Parroquial y en 1964 el propio Arzobispo consagró el altar mayor de la Sabatina. Finalmente, el 15 de agosto de 1972 la Sabatina se erigió como parroquia y desde entonces las actividades han continuado en diversos campos: administración de los sacramentos, catequesis, atención a grupos de jóvenes, talleres de oración, dispensario médico, etcétera.

Camp Humphreys welcomes new commander

CAMP HUMPHREYS – Soldiers, civilians and Family members welcomed the United States Army Garrison Humphreys' new commander, Col. Darin S. Conkright, during a ceremony, here, July 11.
Conkright replaces Col. Joseph P. Moore, who is retiring from the United States Army after 27 years of distinguished service.
Before the change of command, in a separate ceremony, Moore was presented with the Legion of Merit by Debra D. Zedalis, the Pacific Region director of Installation Management Command. His wife, Molly, received three awards: the 8th United States Army Helping Hands Award; the Dr. Mary E. Walker Award; and the Commander’s Award for Public Service.
During the ceremony, Moore expressed his appreciation to his family, fellow Soldiers, the community, Korean guests and the United States Army.
“To our guests from nearby towns, our Korean military colleagues, and our Korean employees, I extend special thanks for the friendship and hospitality you have extended to me over the past four years,” he said. “I leave my command and my Army career with a deep gratitude for the opportunities they have provided.”
Zedalis congratulated Moore on his success as the garrison commander.
“Under his leadership, Humphreys has transformed from an installation populated primarily by single and unaccompanied Soldiers, on one-year assignments, to an installation where many more military Families live for two and three-year tours,” Zedalis said. “He also has led the single largest construction program in the Department of Defense, and the garrison’s support of the 8th United States Army and all tenant units has been nothing short of top notch.”
Zedalis also extended a welcome to the incoming commander and his Family.
“You are inheriting a great garrison team that will support you one hundred percent,” she said. “I know you will find your new assignment both professionally rewarding and personally enriching.”
Conkright expressed his enthusiasm as a new commander.

Conkright joined the Army in 1989, and has had a number of duty assignments at Fort Bragg, Fort Campbell, Washington DC, and in Europe. At Fort Campbell, he commanded ODA 522 and served as the Battalion Assistant S-3. In Washington DC, he served as an assignments officer in the US Army PERSCOM’s Special Management Division. His most recent assignment was the Chief of Staff for the NATO Special Operations Headquarters (NSHQ) in Mons, Belgium.
He received a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps commission and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky. His advanced education includes a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters in Healthcare Management. Conkright is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and his awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal. His badges include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Special Forces Tab, the Ranger Tab, and the Master Parachutist Badge.

Juan José Hernández nació en Camagüey, provincia de Cuba. Desde muy joven se dedicó a los estudios musicales e integró varias agrupaciones locales como bajista, guitarrista, cantante, compositor.Cursó estudios formales de canto en el prestigioso Instituto Superior de Arte de Holguín (Cuba), al tiempo que trabajó en el Teatro Lírico Rodrigo Pratts donde formó parte de numerosas puestas en escena de óperas, operetas y zarzuelas.
En el año 1996, después de participar en el Concurso Nacional “Buscando El Sonero” y quedar en los primeros lugares , pasó a formar parte como cantante de la reconocida Orquestas Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, con la que visitó diferentes festivales y eventos internacionales.
En el 1999 se traslada a Puerto Rico donde retoma su carrera musical como cantante al lado de figuras de la talla de Ismael Miranda, Humberto Ramírez y el maestro Willie Rosario.
En el 2006 crea su orquesta San Juan Habana,novedoso concepto musical en el que se plasman las influencias de este artísta integrando la música cubana ,puertorriqueña y latina en general.En el 2008, Juan José Hernández y San Juan – Habana lanzan su primer álbum Llegó San Juan – Habana, bajo el sello independiente SJH Records.
Desde su salida al mercado, este álbum fue recibido con júbilo por las emisoras radiales y el público en general, varias canciones fueron ampliamente difundidas como Llegó San Juan – Habana, El Pregón del chocolate, Mar y tierra (en sus dos versiones; salsa y balada) y El amor se fué de rumba.
Actualmente Juan José y SAN JUAN HABANA dan los toques finales a su segunda producción musical.
Simultáneo a su carrera como vocalista, Juan José se labró un espacio como compositor al escribir temas que resultaron en éxitos internacionales como Arroz con Habichuela, que le valió una nominación al Grammy Latino 2007 por su trabajo de composición. Otros temas que le valieron el reconocimiento de los conocedores del género son: A que se te quita, La clave y Mi canto, interpretadas por Ismael Miranda; Con el tiempo y un ganchito, en la voz de Elvis Crespo; En las nubes, grabada por Andy Montañez; Después que pase el temporal, Yo lo que quiero es que me des y Acaramelaíto, cantadas por Edgar Daniel; Amor despiadado, Salsa, ritmo y movimiento y Ay Elena, cantadas por Sammy García y el Sabor de Puerto Rico; y los temas popularizados por Gilberto Santa Rosa, La oveja negra, Un año que se va,Aunque llueva y Conteo Regresivo, por el cual fue nominado nuevamente a los premios Grammy en el 2008
En mayo del 2008 recibió un Premio ASCAP, galardón que otorga la Asociación Americana de Compositores, por el tema Conteo Regresivo como Mejor Canción Tropical. En el 2009 recibió nuevamente el Premio ASCAP como Mejor Canción Tropical del Año por Conteo Regresivo.
Recibió además dos Nominaciones a Premios lo Nuestro 2009 por los temas Ella Menea, que canta el Grupo NG2, y Conteo Regresivo, de Gilberto Santa Rosa.
Para el más reciente CD del Gran Combo compuso las canciones: La espuma y la Ola, La Receta del amor y El Comején,NG2, cuenta con temas de su autoría como Ella Menea, De Carne y Hueso,Tu amor,Buscando amor. En la mas reciente producción de Sammy García y el Sabor de PR, cuenta con 9 canciones de su autoría. para el más reciente disco de Victoria Sanabría escribió ..No lavo, no plancho y no cocino. También produjo, compuso y arregló para el grupo musical Siglo XIX el tema Vengan Mujeres. La Orquesta La Mulenze grabó también Maldición, la orquesta Chaney.. Que hay de malo en éste amor, Moncho Rivera “Yo tengo lo mío”, también Ella Tiene interpretado por la Puerto Rican Power,etc.
Actualmente Juan José acaba de terminar su segunda producción con San Juan Habana, titulada La hora del Té, lanzando su primer sencillo en noviembre de 2011 titulado Zarandea, y en febrero su segundo sencillo que lleva por nombre el título del disco (La Hora del Té) ambos sencillos junto a la nueva producción musical se encuentran disponibles en todas las tiendas y en Itunes y demás tiendas digitales.
