Mingle Media TV and Red Carpet Report host Ine Iversen were invited to cover the World Premiere of Disney’s “ Cinderella,” at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. This new live-action feature directed by Kenneth Branagh is inspired by the classic fairy tale, “Cinderella” and brings to life the timeless images from Disney’s 1950 animated masterpiece as fully-realized characters in a visually-dazzling spectacle for a whole new generation.
“Cinderella” will be released through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on March 13, 2015.

The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. This image was scanned from a postcard in an album belonging to Francis Richard (Frank) Moore (1878-1964), whose family was based at Bishop's Bridge near Maitland, New South Wales at the time the postcard was sent. Mr Moore was a teacher who taught in schools in northern NSW and in Sydney. The postcards were collected at the turn of the twentieth century.
After Mr Moore's death, the album passed to his sister, Eliza Jane Keily, née Moore (1890-1968). The image is published here with permission of the family.

“The Oxford English Dictionary, which you can find in many libraries, is the best source for dating usage, though it can't always help us understand why a word came to be used the way it does.
The use of "gas" for levity and enjoyment goes back to two uses. The first is the expression "everything is gas and goiters," which is first found in print used by Charles Dickens in 1839, meaning quite satisfactory. The more direct origin of the current (well, mid 20th century) usage is from Irish slang where gas meant joke or frivolity, found used in print by James Joyce in 1914. The usage seems to have been picked up by the African American community in the US in the "Jazz Age," and the expression "it's a gas" is first found used in print by James Baldwin in 1957.
So this tells us a lot about when, but not a lot about why. We may speculate that there is some connection to the use of nitrous oxide, also know as "laughing gas," for medical and recreational purposes early in the 1900s, but there is no direct link supplied by the OED to support that hypothesis.

Description
The property within boundaries of District of Koycegiz is located in the face of Dalyan City and on the right shores of Dalyan Stream (Calbis) which connect Koycegiz Lake to Mediterranean. It was the capital of the ‘Kaunos Region’ between the Caria and Lycia until the beginning of the 4th BC.
The existence of Kaunos had known by the scholars but its location was a mystery until English archaeologist Hoskyn discovered it in 1842. Swedish archaeologist P. Roos defined the independent state boundaries of Kaunos as follows: “Starting from the Fethiye Bay at the north and Ancient City of Krya at the north of the bay; extending till Tlos at the 35 km east of Fethiye, Idyma at Gokova Bay at the west and Çamkoy located in the west of Urla which is little forward to north.” In today’s context, the coastal area starting from the south plains of Mugla and extending till the mountains between Mugla and Antalya was under the sovereignty of Kaunos. Kaunos has kept this borders until the 4th century BC but then lost its statue of sovereign state after the Persian invasion. It was one of two cities resisting against Persian invasion (other is Xanthos) such that they paid high taxes to prevailing states many times in order to keep their independency as a port city.
Kaunos was mentioned as Ksibde in Lycian scripts, while as Kbid in the scripts of other surrounding cities. Life style and language of Kaunos people share similarities with Carian people except five letters in their alphabet are not seen in latter which makes Kaunos language is unique to them. Heredot reveals in this respect that “There is Carian influence in their language or their influence in Carian language. This is an issue which I couldn’t clarify.” In fact, epigraphic materials in Carian language are found mostly in Kaunos today. Kaunosian could not be understood until very recently just because Carian language was not decoded. However, by virtue of a stela written in Greek and Carian, it has been possible to unravel Carian language and a little of Kaunosian due to Greek language had already been known.
Kaunos was an important sea port city with two ports; one is in the south at the southeast of Küçük Kale (Small Castle) and the inner port at its northwest, the present Sülüklü Göl (the Lake of the Leeches). The southern port was used from the foundation of the city till roughly the end of the Hellenistic era, after which it became inaccessible due to its drying out. The latter was used till the late days of Kaunos, but due to the silting of the delta and the ports, Kaunos had by then lost its important function as a trade port and started becoming poor. After Caria had been captured by Turkish tribes and the serious malaria epidemic of the 15th century AD, Kaunos was completely abandoned.
The city was constructed on terraces; significant religious structures like Baselius Kaunios Temple, Apollon Sanctuary and Demeter Sacred Rocks on one side and Bath, Theatre and other structures including Palaestra on a large terrace which is called Upper City on the other. The monumental terrace on which the Upper City situated connects Baliklar Mountain with the Acropolis by extending the city into Mediterranean like a tongue and naturally creating a second harbour basin in the east.
In many places in the ancient city, it has been found stone cutlery and arrowheads from Palaeolithic era. The finding and remains in Kaunos reveal the prosperity of the city as a great power of its time and that it was a sovereign state which minted on its behalf. The coins printed in this region especially in the first half of the 5th century BC are of great importance since a winged figure is displayed on the front side while pyramidal formed monoliths on the back. Besides, letters of K and B found on the coins are important due to they are the first two letters of the first name of Kaunos, Kbid.
The oldest find at the Kaunos archaeological site is the neck of a Protogeometric amphora dating back to the 9th century BC, or even earlier. A statue found at the western gate of the city walls, pieces of imported Attic ceramics and the South – Southeast oriented city walls show habitation in the 6th century BC. Although none of the architectural finds at Kaunos itself dates back to earlier than the 4th century BC, history of Kaunos is believed much earlier than that.
Because of the paleogeographic formation of Dalyan Delta and the silting of the former Bay of Dalyan (from approx. 200 BC onwards), Kaunos is now located about 8 km from the coast.

Abdalaziz Alhamza, nato a Raqqa nel 1991, è un giornalista e attivista siriano, che oggi vive a Berlino. È fondatore e portavoce del progetto Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently (RBSS), gruppo di citizen journalism fondato dall’esilio in Turchia, che informa sulle violenze compiute da Isis in Siria, grazie alle informazioni passate da cittadini rimasti all’interno della città. Nel gennaio 2016 l’International Business Times ha descritto RBSS come “la più credibile fonte di informazioni dall’interno di Raqqa”.
Alhamza è laureato in biologia e da studente ha organizzato numerose proteste contro il governo siriano. È stato arrestato varie volte dal regime e più volte ha ricevuto minacce per la sua attività da Isis. RBSS ha vinto nel 2015 l’International Press Freedom Award dal Committee to Protect Journalists e il premio del Foreign Policy Global Thinkers Award.

Nel 2012 esce il loro primo album, Turisti della democrazia, al quale fa seguito un tour di 200 concerti in Italia ed in Europa. Nel 2013, ad un anno dalla prima pubblicazione, Turisti della democrazia viene ripubblicato in edizione deluxe, in formato doppio CD. Il primo CD presenta la tracklist originale mentre il secondo CD comprende tutti gli 11 brani del disco originale coverizzati da 11 artisti, oltre a tanti remix e inediti. Alla ripubblicazione dell’album, segue un lungo tour dello spettacolo di teatro-canzone Tronisti della democrazia, nel quale le canzoni dell’album d’esordio sono alternate a monologhi e sketch a formare “un minicorso in 5 atti di buone maniere”. Con Turisti della democrazia, tra i più discussi album usciti in ambito indie rock in Italia, la band bolognese ha ricevuto la Targa Giovani Mei e il Premio SIAE “Miglior Giovane Talento dell’Anno” e altri riconoscimenti.

Nino Frassica - Comico e Presentatore
Maccio Capatonda, pseudonimo di Marcello Macchia, è un attore, regista e comico italiano. Ha partecipato ai programmi televisivi Mai dire Lunedì e Mai dire Martedì. Precedentemente aveva fondato a Milano la Shortcut Productions, insieme a Enrico Venti, suo storico amico, anche lui di Chieti. Ha lavorato per AllMusic e lavora stabilmente sul web, affianco all’attività televisiva. Nel 2013 è ideatore, regista e interprete principale della serie televisiva Mario. In un primo tempo si è dedicato (accompagnato dal suo inseparabile gruppo) alla produzione di finti reality televisivi, come il Divano Scomodo e il Gabinetto.
Nel 1985 Arbore coinvolge Nino Frassica nel varietà “Quelli della notte” nei panni di frate Antonino da Scasazza, organizzatore di un improbabile concorso a premi. Seguono “Indietro tutta” dove veste i panni del bravo presentatore e mette in scena una spassosa parodia del tipico conduttore televisivo. Partecipa successivamente a “Fantastico”, “Domenica In”, “Scommettiamo che…?”, “I Cervelloni”, “Acqua calda”, “Colorado Cafè” e “Markette” condotto da Piero Chiambretti. Nel 1999 inizia l’avventura della fiction televisiva “Don Matteo” con Terence Hill, Flavio Insinna e successivamente Simone Montedoro, giunta ormai alla decima serie. Nino interpreta il ruolo del maresciallo dei Carabinieri Nino Cecchini.

Dopo essersi laureato al DAMS di Bologna si trasferisce a Milano entrando a far parte della Shortcut Productions di Marcello Macchia ed Enrico Venti (in arte Maccio Capatonda e Ivo Avido), inizialmente come assistente e poi come attore e autore. Con Marcello Macchia è protagonista, con lo pseudonimo di Herbert Ballerina, di numerosi trailer umoristici trasmessi all’interno dei programmi televisivi Mai dire Lunedì e Mai dire Martedì.

Sydney Sibilia, nato a Salerno nel 1981, è un regista, sceneggiatore e produttore cinematografico italiano. Sydney Sibilia inizia a realizzare cortometraggi insieme all’amico Fabio Ferro nella loro natìa Salerno. Nel 2007 si trasferisce a Roma e successivamente realizza un cortometraggio che ottiene numerosi riconoscimenti, Oggi gira così (2010), prodotto dalla Ascent Film e scritto insieme a Valerio Attanasio.
Sempre con Valerio Attanasio, scrive la sceneggiatura della sua opera prima Smetto quando voglio. Il film, prodotto dalla Fandango di Domenico Procacci, dalla Ascent FIlm di Matteo Rovere e da Rai Cinema, viene distribuito nelle sale cinematografiche nel febbraio 2014, riscuotendo un successo sorprendente e ottenendo 12 candidature ai David di Donatello 2014. Nel 2017 è nelle sale il seguito, Smetto quando voglio – Masterclass, in attesa del terzo episodio.
Regista, sceneggiatore e attore. Insieme a Matteo Corradini e Luca Vecchi è il fondatore del collettivo The Pills, nato nell’estate del 2011. Il collettivo è diventato celebre grazie alla web serie omonima che ha debuttato su YouTube nello stesso anno, diventando immediatamente fenomeno del web. Dopo il successo ottenuto anche con la seconda stagione, nel 2014 la serie approda su Italia 1. Nello stesso anno, The Pills sono autori insieme a Matteo Rovere, Luca Ravenna, Sydney Sibilia e Daniele Grassetti della serie tv Zio Gianni in onda su Rai2. Il 21 gennaio 2016 esce nelle sale il loro primo film, The Pills – Sempre meglio che lavorare.
Sceneggiatrice tra le più apprezzate in Italia, è laureata in filosofia.

La sigla Mercedes-Benz W121 identifica il modello 190SL, una roadster di fascia medio-alta prodotta dal 1955 al 1963 dalla Casa automobilistica tedesca Mercedes-Benz. La 300 SL "Ali di gabbiano" all'epoca della sua messa in vendita, nonostante fosse una autovettura desiderata era troppo costosa per la maggior parte dei suoi ammiratori. L'importatore ufficiale della Mercedes-Benz negli Stati Uniti, Max Hoffman, che nel 1952 aveva premuto affinché la Casa di Stoccarda producesse in serie la 300SL, si rese conto di ciò, così pure la stessa Casa madre. Se ne resero conto ancor prima che la stessa 300SL fosse lanciata sul mercato. Pertanto Hoffmann sollecitò i vertici Daimler-Benz a progettare e realizzare autovettura che mantenesse il carattere sportivo della 300 SL, ma meno spinta e di media cilindrata, insomma più accessibile per un pubblico più ampio e con carrozzeria aperta. Queste furono le premesse che motivarono la progettazione e la produzione della 190 SL che beneficiò anche, come nuova nata, di alcune innovazioni già introdotte nelle berline 180. La Mercedes-Benz, al momento della nascita della 190 SL contava 46.226 dipendenti e produceva 63.683 veicoli all'anno con una automazione, nel 1956, del 67% degli impianti produttivi; era quindi impegnata in uno sforzo di rinnovamento e di crescita. Uno degli imperativi era quello di risparmiare sui costi di produzione e quindi di avvalersi delle risorse disponibili. Venne scelto quindi il pianale della 180 W120, paciosa berlina da poco in listino, il più economico tra i pianali disponibili. Tale pianale venne debitamente rinforzato ed irrigidito dal tunnel centrale e da vari elementi scatolati longitudinalmente e trasversali, e ne venne anche ridotto il passo, sceso da 2.65 a 2.4 m. Nuovo fu invece il motore, un 4 cilindri in linea da 1.9 litri di cilindrata con distribuzione monoalbero in testa, denominato M121 ed in grado di erogare fino a 105 CV di potenza massima. Tale motore era derivato dal 3 litri utilizzato per la 300SL, del quale mantiene alcune caratteristiche. Non aveva una potenza molto elevata, poiché il gruppo motore - cambio, fissato su di un telaio ausiliario, era ancorato su tre punti ammortizzati da grossi tamponi in gomma. Si otteneva così un sistema indipendente e isolato acusticamente dalla scocca. Era una scelta per privilegiare il comfort di marcia e indicava chiaramente la volontà, da parte dei progettisti, di produrre una vettura da turismo sportivo, che permettesse di percorrere le rilevanti distanze su strada abbastanza velocemente, ma senza eccessiva fatica per il pilota e passeggero; questa impostazione andava però a scapito della sportività, cioè della possibilità di prevedere esattamente il comportamento del veicolo in condizioni estreme sotto la spinta di un propulsore molto potente (i tamponi di gomma deformandosi elasticamente infatti introducevano dei giochi indesiderati o imprevedibili. Ecco quindi la necessità di dotare la 190 SL di un propulsore non eccessivamente potente e di media cilindrata. Se infatti sul prototipo venne dapprima montato il sei cilindri di 3 litri della 300 poi si votò per il moderno M121 da 1.897 centimetri cubici, leggermente super quadro anziché a corsa lunga, con valvole e albero a camme in testa, e in grado di sopportare regimi elevati. Nel corso del 1961 il motore subì un aggiornamento con particolare riferimento alla conformazione della distribuzione e differenziandosi dal precedente M121 BII con la sigla M121 BIX. Dalla 220a W180 arrivarono le sospensioni a ruote indipendenti con avantreno a quadrilateri e retrotreno a ponte oscillante con articolazione centrale. Molle elicoidali ed ammortizzatori idraulici erano presenti su entrambi gli assi. All'inizio del 1954 sbarcarono a New York due prototipi della nuova Mercedes 190 SL, pronti per essere esposti al Salone dell'Automobile tenutosi a febbraio. Terminata la kermesse, uno di essi proseguì in aereo per Los Angeles. Uno dei due prototipi era in versione Roadster, con un singolo piccolo parabrezza per il guidatore, portiere a profilo ribassato e senza cristalli. L'altro prototipo era invece una vera e propria roadster, prefigurante quasi del tutto il modello definitivo. Entrambi i prototipi erano caratterizzati da una presa aria sul cofano. Ma Max Hoffmann chiese che la linea fosse ritoccata ulteriormente affinché la vettura somigliasse maggiormente alla più grande ed esclusiva 300SL. Le nuove vetture esposte raccolsero comunque consensi convincendo lo stesso Hoffmann a sollecitarne la produzione in serie in Germania secondo le specifiche richieste ed impegnandosi ad acquistarne 200 al mese. Le strutture produttive necessarie furono pronte soltanto un anno dopo e nel marzo 1955, la 190SL, fu presentata al salone di Ginevra in veste definitiva, molto diversa dai due prototipi "americani". Era di linea più signorile e meno aggressiva, il cofano era meno spiovente sulla calandra, il paraurti anteriore era più avvolgente e non era diviso in due parti, i caratteristici baffi spuntarono anche sui passaruota posteriori (l'anno prima a New York erano assenti) e sparì anche la presa d'aria sul cofano. Inoltre la leva del cambio, prima al volante, venne posizionata sul pavimento. In maggio la produzione era finalmente avviata. Nei primi mesi di commercializzazione, la 190SL fu proposta unicamente come roadster, ma al Salone di Francoforte di quello stesso 1955, l'offerta si ampliò con l'arrivo della coupé, che si distingueva dalla versione aperta per un tettuccio rigido amovibile in sostituzione della capote di tela e per i profili cromati sui baffi. Era anche possibile ottenere il roadster in versione alleggerita, una trasformazione sportiva simile al prototipo Roadster originario, con porte in alluminio, lunetta di plexiglas sul parabrezza e senza cristalli laterali (di questa versione vennero prodotti 17 esemplari). In realtà le portiere in alluminio andarono poi ad equipaggiare tutte le versioni di normale produzione. Il prezzo attorno ai 16.500 marchi contro i 29 000 della 300 SL era abbastanza alto; infatti in Italia una prestigiosa Ferrari 250 Gran Turismo, più vicina alla 300SL per fascia di mercato, costava solo il 37% in più mentre vetture paragonabili alla 190SL, come la Lancia Aurelia B24 o l'Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint costavano il 25% in meno. Ciononostante, la 190SL ottenne un buon successo. Le prestazioni non erano da vera sportiva, basti pensare che la velocità massima era di 171 km/h, poco brillanti anche all'epoca per un'auto da turismo come la 190SL, ma la vettura seppe comunque conquistare il cuore di molti clienti. Poche furono le modifiche apportate alla 190SL nel corso della sua carriera: nel 1956 vi furono luci posteriori maggiorate e servofreno, oltre ad aggiornamenti di dettaglio. L'hard-top, optional prima realizzato in lega leggera, ora è in acciaio. Nel 1959 viene ampliato il lunotto posteriore a favore della visibilità in manovra, mentre il motore subisce alcune migliorie. In Europa la produzione della 190SL cessa nella primavera del 1962, mentre prosegue per il mercato statunitense fino al febbraio 1963.

En 1573 la administración virreinal cedió amplios terrenos a las religiosas concepcionistas en el viejo calpulli prehispánico de Moyotlán (más tarde barrio de San Juan) para que establecieran un convento.
La fundación, dedicada a la Reina del Cielo traducción de la expresión latina Regina Coeli y a la Natividad de la Virgen María, fue aprobada por el Papa Gregorio XIII en 1578.
El templo del monasterio se edificó en el ángulo que forman las actuales calles de Bolívar y Regina, frente a un espacio libre que ya en el siglo XVII se conocía con el nombre de Plaza Chiquita de Regina. Su forma irregular se origino en el trazo de una de las acequias que atravesaban ese baldío. El convento y el templo primitivos fueron muy pobres, con cimentación deficiente.
La reestructuración de estos edificios se realizó en 1656 a expensas de Melchor de Terreros. El templo se reformo después y se abrió el 13 de septiembre de 1731. La obra la proyectó el arquitecto Miguel Custodio Durán y la financió el arzobispo José Lanciego y Eguilaz.
Como todas las plazas y calles de la ciudad colonial anteriores a la gestión del virrey Revillagigedo, la Plaza de Regina no escapó a la suciedad y abandono en que se encontraban los espacios exteriores de la metrópoli: falta de drenaje conveniente, encharcamientos constantes, ausencia de empedrados y banquetas y carencia de iluminación nocturna, que la convertían en un lugar peligroso durante las noches. Además, en ella frecuentemente se asentaban tianguis y tablados de toda índole, habiendo sido utilizada, incluso, para matanza de animales, mezclándose a todas esas incomodidades el espectáculo de mendigos y menesterosos que se aposentaban en ella durante las funciones religiosas.
Transformación radical sufrió la plaza al ser exclaustradas las monjas concepcionistas, conjuntamente con las de otras órdenes religiosas, el 8 de marzo de 1863, y aunque estas volvieron al convento durante el imperio de Maximiliano de Habsburgo, el 14 de noviembre de 1867 se entregó el convento a la Secretaría de Guerra, sirviendo de cuartel hasta el 15 de junio de 1871, cuando el gobierno de la República lo dió, en pago de adeudos, al acaudalado Ramón Obregón.
El templo, por su parte, permaneció abierto al culto. Un informe rendido por el regidor del ramo en 1868, hace mención de las obras realizadas para que desaparecieran la insalubridad y los muladares acumulados en la plaza, donde ya existía una fuente pública que cuidaban las autoridades de la ciudad, insistiendo en que debía barrerse y regarse todos los días "por los aguadores que concurren a la fuente de Regina a sacar agua", así como para que los areneros, carboneros, zacateros o cualquier otro tratante de este género, asearan el lugar que ocupasen con sus mercaderías. Además, en febrero de ese mismo año, se instalaron faroles de hojalata con aparatos de gas líquido, de trementina, de veinte luces, sustituyendo al alumbrado de aceite instalado por la administración colonial.
Gracias a la generosidad y filantropía de la señorita María Concepción Máxima Béistegui y García, quien a su muerte, ocurrida en 1873, cedió sus bienes para la fundación de un hospital en lo que fuera el Convento de Regina, se pudieron salvar de la destrucción, que se había iniciado poco antes, el claustro principal y las crujías adyacentes al mismo. Así, el denominado Hospital Concepción Béistegui, después de laboriosa adaptación, fue inaugurado por el Gral. Porfirio Díaz el 21 de marzo de 1886.
El resto del convento fue dividido en lotes, construyéndose en su lugar varias casas y locales sin ningún valor arquitectónico. En 1967, las autoridades del Departamento del Distrito Federal, ante la necesidad de contar con amplios espacios abiertos en esta zona de la ciudad, eligieron la Plaza de Regina como una de las primeras en la restauración de los centros cívicos capitalinos.
Entonces la plaza fue cerrada al tránsito vehicular en el tramo de la calle de Regina que corría frente al templo, dejándolo fluir únicamente por la calle lateral ubicada al norte de la plaza, y llevando el pavimento pétreo, en adoquín de San Luis Potosí, hasta la fachada misma del templo. Los árboles existentes fueron reubicados al norte de la plaza para permitir mayor visibilidad al edificio.

In 1573 the colonial administration gave the spacious grounds of the old religious Conceptionists calpulli prehispanic Moyotlan (later district of San Juan) to establish a convent.
The foundation, dedicated to the Queen of Heaven translation of the Latin Regina Coeli and the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, was approved by Pope Gregory XIII in 1578.
The temple of the monastery was built in the angle formed by the present streets of Bolívar and Regina, compared to free space in the seventeenth century and was known by the name of Piazza Regina Chiquita. Its irregular shape originated in the stroke of one of the canals running through this wasteland. The convent and the primitive church were very poor, poor foundation.

Thanks to the generosity and philanthropy of Miss Maria Conception High Beistegui and Garcia, who at his death in 1873, transferred its assets to the foundation of a hospital in what was once the Convent of Regina, were saved from destruction, that had begun shortly before, the main cloister and the bays adjacent to it. So-called Beistegui Conception Hospital, after laborious adaptation, was inaugurated by General Porfirio Diaz on March 21, 1886.
The rest of the convent was divided into lots, built several houses in place and local architectural worthless. In 1967, the authorities of the Federal District, to the need for open spaces in this area of the city, chose Regina Square as one of the first in the restoration of civic centers in the capital.
Then the square was closed to traffic on the stretch of Regina Street that ran opposite the temple, just letting it flow down the side street just north of the square, carrying the stone pavement in San Luis Potosi cobble up the facade of the temple itself. Existing trees were relocated to the north of the square to allow greater visibility to the building.

XIV Copa Audi - XVII Campeonato de Canarias de Saltos
Las instalaciones del Real Club de Golf de Las Palmas (Bandama) en Santa Brígida Gran Canaria Islas Canarias, albergarón este fin de semana pasado, uno de los eventos más importantes que se celebran en Canarias en esta disciplina hípica.
En un recorrido impecable en la tercera y última jornada de ayer le dio la medalla de oro al jinete tinerfeño Esteban Domínguez en el Campeonato de Canarias de Saltos de Obstáculos, competición que se desarrolló desde el pasado viernes en Bandama, dentro de la XIV Copa Audi.
Con su yegua Alhambra, Domínguez volvió a lo más alto del podio regional ante una gran ovación del numeroso público asistente. El tinerfeño no desaprovechó el derribo y la consiguiente penalización de su más inmediato rival al título, Fernando Torrent (Caja Rural Lakme Pierreville).
Al final, merecido oro para Esteban Domínguez, plata para Miki Valentín (Update) y medalla de bronce para Fernando Torrent.
Categorías menores.
Agustín Oliva (Nico de Mai), Natalia Hernández (Charlie Brown), Hugo Mossu (Maravilla) y Luna Jiménez (Chivas Van Orshof) se proclamaron campeones de Canarias en las categorías Alevín, Infantil, Cadete y Juvenil, respectivamente.
Las categorías menores tampoco defraudaron y ya desde el comienzo de la jornada se vivió con gran expectación el desempate entre los más jóvenes (Alevines): la tinerfeña Waleska Pérez (Ellie) y el grancanario Agustín Oliva (Nico de Mai).
Ambos finalizaron el recorrido sin penalización -diez obs-táculos con 11 esfuerzos- pero en el desempate Agustín Oliva terminó con mejor tiempo (52,63), mientras que Waleska sumó penalización y se conformó con la medalla de plata. Ana Estrella (Alcante) fue bronce en esta categoría.
Natalia Hernández (Charlie Brown) cumplió las expectativas y se hizo con el oro en la categoría Infantil. Otra amazo- na, Paula Fernández (Jalouzy) fue plata.
La categoría Cadete se resolvió en las últimas salidas a pista. Hugo Mossu (Maravilla) tenía sus opciones pero no era tarea fácil. Un derribo añadió tensión, pero el tinerfeño finalmente pudo conquistar la medalla de oro. Jorgina Mar- tín (Big Hope) y Alejandra García (Walcerkoning) fueron plata y bronce.
Sin demasiados apuros Luna Jiménez (Chivas Van Orshoff) revalidó el título regional en la categoría Juvenil, cerrando el podio Paula Babé (Galileo) y Pablo Macías (Vito Corleone) con la playa y el bronce, respectivamente.

Una nueva forma de llegar a Retiro.

TRANSPORTE : AYER FIRMARON LA ADJUDICACION DE LAS OBRAS
Subtes: en 90 días empezarían las obras para ampliar la línea E.
Desde Plaza de Mayo seguirá bajo la avenida Leandro N. Alem hasta la estación Retiro. Habrá paradas en el Correo Central y en la zona de Catalinas. Estiman que los trabajos durarán tres años.

En tres años, la red de subterráneos sumará tres estaciones y una nueva forma de llegar a Retiro. Ayer se adjudicó a la empresa Benito Roggio la ejecución de las obras civiles para extender la Línea E, que une Plaza de los Virreyes con estación Bolívar, en Plaza de Mayo. Incorporarán las estaciones Correo Central, Catalinas y Retiro. Las obras, que empezarían en 90 días, se harán en el marco del Programa de Recuperación y Modernización Ferroviaria de la Nación y costarán $ 346 millones.
La adjudicación se formalizó en un acto encabezado por el presidente Néstor Kirchner en la Casa Rosada. Participaron el jefe de Gobierno porteño, Jorge Telerman; el ministro de Planificación Federal, Julio De Vido; el secretario de Transporte, Ricardo Jaime, y autoridades de las empresas Roggio y Metrovías. Llamó la atención la presencia del ministro de Educación, Daniel Filmus, el candidato kirchnerista a jefe de Gobierno (ver pág. 20).
La Línea E incorporará 2,1 kilómetros a su extensión actual, pasando a tener un total de 11,6 kilómetros. "La obra costará 346 millones de pesos que saldrán del Presupuesto nacional —precisó a Clarín el secretario de Transporte, Ricardo Jaime—. A partir de la adjudicación hay 30 días para la firma del contrato y otros 60 para que la empresa elabore el proyecto ejecutivo, que consiste en el desarrollo de ingeniería de la obra. Después ya podrán comenzar los trabajos. El plazo previsto para terminarlos es de 36 meses".
El nuevo tramo conectará la estación Bolívar con Retiro por debajo de las avenidas Rivadavia y Leandro N. Alem. Habrá una cochera y tres nuevas estaciones. En Correo Central, que estará en Alem y Corrientes, se podrá hacer la combinación con la Línea B. La estación Catalinas estará a la altura de la calle Paraguay. Y Retiro, la cabecera, tendrá salida en Avenida Del Libertador y Ramos Mejía. En esta última se podrá combinar con la línea C y acceder a la Terminal de Omnibus y a las de los ferrocarriles Mitre, Belgrano Norte y San Martín.
La empresa ganadora de la licitación, Benito Roggio, deberá construir las obras civiles y ocuparse de la arquitectura de túneles y estaciones. Además, tendrá que colocar las vías e instalar los sistemas de iluminación y ventilación. También deberá construir los accesos con escaleras fijas y mecánicas y la intercomunicación con las líneas ya existentes.
La construcción del túnel se hará por debajo de cinco grandes obstáculos: las líneas B y C de subte, una cloaca de 2,80 metros, el pluvial de la calle San Martín y, llegando a Retiro, el edificio del Onabe. "La extensión de la línea E es importante porque va a cerrar un anillo de conexión con todas las otras líneas de subterráneos", subrayó Jaime.
Además de permitir más combinaciones, el recorrido que se agrega atenderá la demanda en la zona de oficinas de Catalinas, Retiro y Puerto Madero. Así ayudará a descongestionar el tránsito del área. Además, se aliviará a la línea C, que es la única que llega a Retiro y lleva a 190.000 pasajeros por día hábil. Mientras, le dará más impulso a la línea E, que con 70.000 pasajeros diarios es la menos usada. Se estima que, cuando se sume el nuevo tramo, viajarán al menos 20.000 personas más.
Mientras, desde el Gobierno Nacional anticipan que se seguirá invirtiendo en la red de subtes. Jaime explicó: "Estamos desarrollando un acuerdo con el Gobierno de la Ciudad y la empresa Citic, de China, para comprar 198 coches. Una parte se destinará a la línea H, y el resto será para renovar los trenes de las otras líneas. En abril esperamos avanzar en la operación".
"Si pretendemos una solución al problema del tránsito y un desarrollo equilibrado para todos los barrios porteños, las obras de ampliación y extensión de la red de subtes son de vital importancia —sostuvo Telerman—. El objetivo del plan es desalentar el uso del automóvil por las calles céntricas y conformar una red de transporte público, que integre al ómnibus, el subte, el tren, y el tranvía que está llegando".
Hoy las cinco líneas de subte y el Premetro trasportan más de un millón de pasajeros diarios. Según cálculos oficiales, con la extensión de las líneas A, B y E y la construcción de la línea H, habrá un 20% más de pasajeros.

Dos que se agrandan y una nueva
La prolongación de la Línea E se inserta en las obras ya en curso para ampliar la red de subtes, y que incluyen la extensión de las líneas A y B y la construcción de la línea H. El jueves, el jefe de Gobierno porteño, Jorge Telerman, recorrió las obras de la línea A, a la que se le incorporarán casi 3 kilómetros para unir Plaza de Mayo y Nazca. La inauguración del primer tramo está prevista para este año.
"En el tramo de las estaciones Puán y Carabobo ya se han concluido las obras civiles, en tanto que en el que va de Plaza Flores a Nazca se están ejecutando los accesos y se comenzaron los trabajos de arquitectura a nivel del andén", detalló Telerman.
Mientras, se sigue trabajando en la extensión de la línea B, que cuando esté lista en su totalidad sumará 2,1 kilómetros a los 10,2 actuales. En 2003 se inauguró la primera etapa, hasta Los Incas. Ahora se está avanzando en el tramo que llegará hasta Monroe por debajo de la avenida Triunvirato, incorporando las estaciones Echeverría y Villa Urquiza. Esto estaría finalizado en 2008.
La gran apuesta es la línea H, la primera en construcción después de 60 años. Esta línea será transversal y tendrá 6,8 kilómetros. Irá de Pompeya a Retiro bajo las avenidas Sáenz, Almafuerte, Caseros, Jujuy, Pueyrredón y del Libertador. Las obras están avanzadas y el primer tramo, que llegará desde Caseros hasta Once, se inaugurará el año que viene.
Cuatro años paralizada
La licitación para la extensión de la línea E estuvo paralizada durante cuatro años y recién se reactivó el año pasado. El llamado para la precalificación de oferentes se había hecho en 1999. El 31 de mayo de 2001, presentaron sus ofertas las empresas Techint, Benito Roggio e Hijos, la UTE conformada por SADE y Skanska Internacional, Gualtieri, Cartellone Construcciones, DYCASA y Dragados Construcción P.O.S.A. Pero la crisis congeló el proceso.
En marzo de 2006, la Secretaría de Transporte de la Nación les pidió a las empresas que actualizaran la documentación jurídica y contable, autorizándolas a retirar los pliegos de la licitación correspondientes a la oferta económica. Finalmente, la oferta ganadora fue la de Roggio, empresa a la que ayer se le adjudicó la obra.
El boleto intermodal

Al área metropolitana —Buenos Aires más conurbano— le falta mucho en materia de transporte. En el Centro de Estudios de Transporte del Area Metropolitana (UBA) propusieron crear un único gerenciador que centralice todos los viajes. Hoy actúan el Gobierno nacional, el porteño y las municipalidades. Así, el ente debería implementar lo que se llama "boleto intermodal" para viajar por toda la región, no importa el medio, pagando una sola vez o comprando abonos de acuerdo a la frecuencia de los viajes. O sea, una tarjeta que permita por ejemplo, ir desde Martínez al Obelisco combinando colectivo, tren y subte, como se hace en las grandes ciudades. El desafío es otro tipo de servicio.

New for Jimmy Murphy on September 30 at Fresno, finishing 8th and last; a month later at Cotati again last (4th), then three wins in succession in Championship events at Beverly Hills (twice) and Fresno; fitted with a new Miller ’122’ engine and sold, likely to Martin de Alzaga (but see ’2207-Z’ and ’2302-X’!) for Murphy to drive at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza in September (3rd as #5), then entered (#3) for the Spanish Grand Prix in October, but shipped back to the US instead for the Thanksgiving Race at Beverly Hills, presumably for Ernie Olson; sold to Bobby Dunn and entered for Los Angeles WB in early ’24 but rejected; original engine and chassis probably sold to Murphy and used to build single-seat Murphy/Miller (’2521-P’).

New for Dario Resta at Beverly Hills in February (8th), and for Frank Elliott at Fresno (5th). Subsequently fitted with new Miller 122 engine and sold, possibly to Louis Zborowski (but see ’2201-Z’ and ’2207-Z’!) who entered it at Monza in September as #11 (retired) and Sitges in October as #1, though pictures show it to be #9 (2nd), then in August of 1924 at Lyon as #6 (retired). After Zborowski’s death two months later, the car was sold and raced for a time in local events in Britain, thence via New Zealand (Bert Shorter/ca. 1927, Elliot [Keith?] Cutten/ca. 1927-1933, Gerry Mathieson/1934-1936, Eric Morgan/ca. 1936-1938), Australia (Paul Haverland?, etc., incl a spell with road registration 1947-1952!), the USA again (?/ca. 1985-1992), to Germany (Eckart Berg/ca. 1992-1996), Switzerland (Karl Blöchle/ca. 1997-2005) and back to Germany (Stephan Rettenmaier/ca. 2006), to Dano Davis (FL) in 2012.

Le hameau fut fondé par Suger, abbé de Saint-Denis au XIIème siècle, pour accroître les terres et les revenus de l'abbaye. Il prit le nom de Carrières-Saint-Denis dès 1137, en raison des multiples carrières de calcaire qui y furent exploitées, puis celui de Carrières-sur-Seine au début du XXème siècle.
De 1250 date l'édification de la grange aux dîmes dont Il reste une partie. Proche de Chatou et Bougival, la ville comprenant aujourd'hui 15 000 habitants a inspiré les peintres, Claude Monet en 1872, Maurice de Vlaminck en 1905, André Derain et Georges Braque en 1909 (cf. wikipédia).

It has come to my attention that I may have some sort of problem. You see, I conceived this preset when I was commuting to work. I got distracted by car colors and this idea popped into my head. Clearly, I have issues.
At any rate, I wanted to try warm shadows and cool highlights and the result was mostly what I expected. It looks a little more sepia than I thought it might, so I used graduated filters to lightly play that up.
I've been on a bit of a monochrome track this week, which was not at all prompted by the weather (aside from some rain on Tuesday night, it's been sunny and fairly warm all week). I guess I could blame it on November, which is generally one of my least favorite months of the year.
I think I'm going to do another round of presets, but it probably won't be LR3. I don't know if it's because I'm not comfortable with it yet or what, but the thing is just not working for me yet. We'll see how I feel about it tomorrow. ;) I would like to start uploading actual photographs again instead of the darn collages.
The thing that really jumps out at me from my old photos (these were shot before I decided I was going to learn something about photography and I was heck yes pointing and shooting with the darn Rebel) is the fact that I dutched everything for no reason and with sickeningly Third Manish results. I once vomited after watching that movie so clearly this poses a problem.
