Yeah... I'm realizing that I really enjoy cooking but damn do I hate cleaning up lol. After I did finish cleaning up though, I went ahead and watched Jon Favreau's Chef again. If you love making food, just watch it. It's amazing. #bulgogi #homechef via Instagram instagr.am/p/CTO93IqHLRb/

I took David, Radicaldreamer, and Tigerboy to a teen chocolate class at Viking Homechef, in Walnut Creek. They made two kinds of truffles (white chocolate rolled in oreo crumbs, and dark chocolate rolled in cocoa powder), chocolate hot lava cakes with praline sauce, and double chocolate dipped strawberries.

It was a blast!

Plenty of steam coming from that pot.

The second group got a bit short changed on the white chocolate truffles - the first group kind of pigged out! Tigerboy got to make at least one, though.

It's been a while since I've cooked pasta. For this dish, I just went through the fridge and pantry to come up with this dish. It's Tortellini with Italian sausage, bacon, chicken, and mushrooms, in a tomato sauce. It turned out pretty good!

I enjoy a good Jamaican style Curry Chicken and I cook it once in a while but I like to use boneless chicken. This batch turned out really good, full of flavour, and a little spicy heat. I had it with some basmati rice. All delicious!

Looks like it's ready.

The kids had a 'quiz' after everything was made, before the cakes came out of the oven. There was a lot of joking around and silliness. I'm afraid none of them did very well on the quiz - but they all had fun.

I love lamb so when I saw it on sale, I had to get some. These pieces were sliced really thin. much thinner than I prefer but I made it work.

I seasoned it Mediterranean style with oregano, basil, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. I cooked it in my toaster oven at 500F and finished it with a torch. I sure wish I had a BBQ grill!

Keeping it simple, I had it with mashed potatoes, corn, and carrots. I wish I had some tzatziki. It tasted really good!

Quick baked egg with sliced tomato.

It's been a while since I've cooked chow mein but I had a craving that just had to be satisfied.

I started by blanching the noodles in hot water and then finished them in the air fryer to crisp them up a little. The pork and Chinese broccoli were stir fried in a wok and the final dish was garnished with crispy onion flakes. Unconventional methods, I know, but the final result was pretty good!

I have a vague memory of a dish my grandmother used to cook when I was very young. It's an old-school Hakka Chinese dish made with a large piece of pork leg, black beans, garlic, ginger, and dark soy sauce. It was browned in a wok and then steamed until tender.

My version turned out very tender and tasty but not like how I remembered it. Maybe I'm missing something? Any suggestions? I'll just have to try again...
