Monticello III Horse-Drawn Canal Boat Ride
If you're looking to leave the hectic pace of the modern world for a while, then a trip to the Monticello III Horse-Drawn Canal Boat and Historic Roscoe Village in Coshocton, Ohio may be just what you need this summer.
The kids (young and old) will love meeting Rock & Fred and Jasper & Bill, the huge Percheron draft horse teams that pull the canal boat along an original section of the Ohio and Erie Canal.
On the 45-minute canal boat ride you will also be entertained by the Canal Boat Captain as he explains 1800s life on the canal. You'll hear tall tales and a lot of history told in first person so you'll feel like you've actually glided right into the 1830s. You might even get to assist the helmsman in steering the canal boat while on your journey.

We started our day in Krakow with a visit to Lagiewniki and the Shrine of Divine Mercy. There in the convent, St Faustina had visions and revelations of God's mercy.
This site is a very popular place of pilgrimage, so a large basilica has been constructed nearby the original church to accommodate the number of people that visit at certain times of year. This is the exterior of the basilica. It's profile was inspired by that of a ship, with the bell tower representing the mast. The bell tower is crowned with a shape similar to a bishop's mitre (hat), and at the base of the mast is a statue of St. John Paul II who poses "in Persona Christi" as the helmsman of souls.

The great helmsman giving directions. Alan's a top notch director, was great seeing him at work.
the whole obelisk is covered in small metal sculptures, some symbolise merchant ships in convoys (how many merchant sailors ended up floating in oil and wreckage in the freezing waters after the U-Boats got their ship, their fellows unable to stop and rescue them because they'd be too easy a target themselves... The bravery has stood out across the decades since), other parts denote the many parts of the world they sailed to and from while the small sculptures around the 'shelf' show the different tasks on ship, from helmsman to navigator to the cook.

With some bridges, you are assessed a toll if ship causes it to have to open.
The "brugwachter" (bridge guard) comes out on to his balcony, traditionaly armed with a fishing pole which has a wooden shoe attached to the end of the line. He lowers this to within reach of the helmsman on the passing ship who deposits the toll fee in the wooden shoe.

"it looks like after a war - where are all the building´s - or rather where are the people...ideoeconomic
takes the upper hand and forms a permanent presence - a permanent, disabling society is
caught up in the so-called living area of economics governs...the spatial discussion
leads to the human past - to a degenerate imagination of physical and psychic space - the
return of bread and circuses - the rebirth of the gothic age twisted semiotics - and we ! -
