An interesting cloud formation above a barely frozen pond at dusk.

I landed in Kelowna on my way back from Toronto, so I figured I'd take a picture of the William R. Bennett Bridge at night. Always so scenic. Captured here in 4:1 panorama.

From the Bridge at the foot of Dysart Rd.

Good morning, April 1st!

Located just past Vaseux Lake, Gallagher Lake is a charming little lake surrounded by trees and a mountain. Unfortunately, access to it is somewhat limited by a private campground on one end and Indian land on the other end. I asked the campground operators for permission and thankfully they granted me access. I took this shot with a circular polarizer filter and a 10 stop neutral density filter (3.0 ND). The water was quite choppy but the 3 min 5 sec exposure took care of that.

I find photography at night very peaceful.

Vaseux Lake becomes so serene in the evening. It's a must see for those traveling in the South Okanagan.

I love the sense of calm that falls upon us in the evening.

Less than 1/10 of the world’s land surface is rain forest, yet they are responsible for nearly 1/3 of the world’s oxygen. You know you’re breathing fresh rain forest air when you see lichen hanging from trees - some have survived for thousands of years and are extremely susceptible to pollution. Temperate rain forests decompose slowly, resulting in a rich vegetation base (including a variety of mushrooms) but few tree varieties (mostly coniferous), due to the climate and low light levels. 5 five species of salmon, multiple bird varieties, black-tailed deer, grey wolf, grizzly bear, and black bear live in these forests. Dug up an old one from 2009, Botanical Beach.

Skaha Lake after sunset. Tonight, the sky cast a stunning mix of orange and pink hues on the water.

East Sooke Park on one of our many smokey days.

I found a herd of California Bighorn Sheep. This ewe caught my attention because of her tag and tracking device. She didn't mind it, almost wearing it like jewelry. It serves an important purpose for biologists studying and tracking these wild animals.

Neutral Density (ND) filters are worth their weight in gold. No, I mean literally. 😁 And I dropped one today. 😵
