While exploring local back roads, I stumbled upon some new (to me) herds of wild horses. It was too dark by then to take proper pictures of wildlife, so I settled for the typical habitat in which they live in this parts of the country. It was dark and foggy, so I was actually surprised to catch a vivid sunset. A minute later it disappeared behind the mountain.

Sombrio Beach on a rainy day. Real West Coast.

Looking back at some long shots I took previously (to estimate what lens to bring for an other photo I want to make, so stay tuned!), I realized I forgot to upload this one from when Vancouver was all foggy. I hope you like it!

Another shot from yesterday. Foggy backroads above Okanagan Falls.

In 1987 I visited the first nations village of Ahousat on Flores Island on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Over the course of two long weekends (while my wife worked to set up the new school library) I was free to wander with my camera, talk to anybody I met, and take pictures of anything. I like winding roads. They always make me wonder what lies behind the curve.

Panorama of most of downtown Vancouver made from a rooftop on Mount Pleasant, using my Sigma 150-600mm and Sirui T-005X tripod (seriously good tripod, it's cheap and surprisingly sturdy enough for me to have done a panorama with a big lens, using the original head that comes with it).

It took me a while to finish that panorama, because my most powerful laptop is getting its battery changed and my backup laptop, while not wimpy by any means, had a hard time dealing with the original size of the panorama.

This was an unplanned shot, I just happened to know I was going to have access to a rooftop and thought it would be fun to bring along my longest lens.

I uploaded here a version that's 4320 pixels high, so it should fit just right on 8k monitors (not that anyone currently really has one, but some people will start having them soon I'm sure). If you're curious, download it full size! There are a lot of details to be seen.

I like the contrast between the sagebrush desert-like terrain and the lush green vineyards. The sky is so orange and hazy due to new nearby wildfires.

An interesting cloud formation above a barely frozen pond at dusk.

I landed in Kelowna on my way back from Toronto, so I figured I'd take a picture of the William R. Bennett Bridge at night. Always so scenic. Captured here in 4:1 panorama.
