Whytecliff Park, British Columbia.

I absolutely love this community garden near the train tracks. I love the small forest of green plants (I don't know what they're called!)

F22 results in foreground AND background being in focus. This can be distracting...but good for landscapes.

1/1000 sec shutter speed. I'd like to see this even a bit sharper, so if I were to return I'd increase the shutter speed to catch the motion even more. We don't need to stay at 1/1000, it is only a starting point.

Almost no grain on this similar image. The difference is extreme. You get the idea though.

Taken during my Photowalk on the 19th of Jul with Ekaterina

Thank you for a fun time

Ken

Slower shutter speed (1/20s) results in blurred motion. It's best when there is an element that isn't moving in the frame, so we can see the effects of the motion. Like a helicopter! Right David? Feel free to upload that shot if you dare!

I couldn't resist. We were on a photowalk and I don't see turtles all the time. No real lesson here except capture the moment as it happens! And while you're at it, off centre your main subject (rule of thirds). See, I managed to turn that into a lesson!
