Having a faff tonight, Started off with the camera pointed at a circuit image I had on a tablet, then swapped to another tripod pointing directly at an ikea cuttlery stand and wafted some fibre optics at it for the pink colour before moving to the garden where I had another tripod trained on my small summer house where I lit the interior to get my Silhouette in the shot.
By the way, I have Imagekinded myself. If you'd like a print of a photo not shown on the 'kind, let me know, okay?
I have three types of lilies in the pond. This one is the tropical lily. It does not bloom in the winter months. All winter long I was questioning the decision to try the tropical lily since the other two bloom year round. Since it has started blooming, I am no longer questioning that decision. The blooms are beautiful and adds a nice change for the warmer months. Maybe I should say hotter months. The past winder was so mild it felt more like spring than winter.
The greenery in the background is from the aquatic sensitive plant or what some call peanuts because of the shape of the little yellow flowers on that plant. The sensitive plant has long stems and is covered with those little yellow flowers. It provides a nice nursery for the mosquito fish and a home for the smallest bluegill.
Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections but instantly set about remedying them - every day begin the task anew
have had pnuemonia ...am slowly getting over it...was down for a week...no chores to do..no bulls to feed....no cows to feed.... no cows to check...no dinner to make...i guess you could call it a sick vacation...

As the summer is coming to an end in the beautiful Guincho and in Portugal somehow September has began with lots of sun and good weather ... here you can
appreciate the most beautiful " Fortaleza do Chincho" (an ancient fortress as many on the Portugal coast, - this totally restaured)... one of my favourite places and a fantastic gourmet restaurant (see Michelin guide 3 stars) with a great view !!! (and with lots of happy memories from my parents to my friends of then and now - a favourite place) ... Here the winds are very strong so you can also appreiciate the magical view,the surfing going on as well as the lovely view of the the sea the the neaerby hills of Sintra --- indeed a magical place to relax and enjoy the best that summer (and not only) has to offer ... a magnificent view of the coast of Portugal in this case a few minutes from home (Lisbon)... I hope you will share with me this view and virtual "joy" ... (beware strong waves and cold water) ---
Also this is for dear friends who have come here and enjoyed this special place ....(as well as those who might come or just those who like the "scene") what is better at the " almost end of summertime " than to eat great seafood and hear the waves of our great ocean as well as a great view?! .. So my dear friends ENJOY windy Guincho, lay back and listen to this most relaxing music... be Happy and Zen.... (and have a great September...)

I am sorry but I am a mostly OFF - so I cannot comment on all of you but will catch up as soon as I can,I am so behind and busy -
I have decided to take a short break from Flickr and put my energies elsewhere for a bit and figure out what my priorities are right now. I don't plan on being gone long, but will pop in on occasion to see how things are going.

Collected in Scotland in 2013 but never seen the light of day or taste of lips! From left to right - and add at least eight years now - even though I guess it wasn't further aged in the wood.

What to do on a wet and grey Australia Day perhaps.
But here's my admission. Neither of us drink much at all in the way of alcohol, and certainly not Whiskey with or without an "e"! Not even Bourbon. My first headache was caused by Scotch and unlike Lot's wife, I refused to look back, ever. But yes, it's all genuine of course but the only place we visited of the three was Dewars in the delightful village of Aberfeldy. And horror of horrors, none have or will be opened, the crystal contains something I do like, Lady Grey tea. A prop like they use on TV!
Having served the C&NW faithfully for over 20 years a group of H1244 and H1044s sit quietly along the main line near the engine house at Butler, Wisconsin on August 13, 1975. The official retirement date for H1244 1112 was 8/20/76, so some of these engines might have been returned to service after I moved to Louisiana. Photo by Jim Lewnard

This is the picture that was used for my girlfriend's senior picture in her senior yearbook. I feel so proud of her! And my god...I am the luckiest guy in the world to have her at my side, hands down. She's beautiful, as you can see, and she makes any picture amazing. I could never get tired of having her make my photos. Anyway, I am glad you have taken some interest in this photo...and I really hope that many others come to enjoy this wonderful portrait of her. Thanks again!
this was taken the day before the typhoon hit tokyo. we had signed up for the mt fuji tour weeks before and couldn't cancel. it rained throughout the tour. quite a damper, but provided a different sort of visual instead. we took shelter in narukawa art museum by lake ashi. on a clear day, you can see mt fuji behind the hills.

66148 'Maritime Intermodal Seven' having just completed a shunt after arriving with 6M13 0104 Dollands Moor - Ditton Foundry Lane. The loco will then return to Arpley sidings for the night via the little used Ditton East jct - Arpley jct low level route.
The train arrived with some wagons loaded with rolled alluminium coils from Germany. The following day it will form 6O26 loaded with 27 ton alluminium billets produced at Novelis recycling centre at Latchford, Warrington 23/07/24.
Having taken a number of shots now of the Aquilegias (Columbine) in my garden, I am fascinated by the development of the pistils and stamens. At first - shown in the white flower they seem to be all bunched up. They then progress to hanging freshly as in the purple flower and then progress to this brown mature state. The 'horns' on the top of the flower also begin curled and then straighten in the process of maturity. I think they are awesome! The back of the 'flower' is in fact a sepal and the horns and petals are modified petals referred to as the blade (front) and spur (horns behind). See also this web page.
