this was taken the day before the typhoon hit tokyo. we had signed up for the mt fuji tour weeks before and couldn't cancel. it rained throughout the tour. quite a damper, but provided a different sort of visual instead. we took shelter in narukawa art museum by lake ashi. on a clear day, you can see mt fuji behind the hills.

Have a great weekend folks! :-)

taken outside our boat in Rotherham. where I have a beautiful garden area full of shrubs and flowering plants.

Having taken a number of shots now of the Aquilegias (Columbine) in my garden, I am fascinated by the development of the pistils and stamens. At first - shown in the white flower they seem to be all bunched up. They then progress to hanging freshly as in the purple flower and then progress to this brown mature state. The 'horns' on the top of the flower also begin curled and then straighten in the process of maturity. I think they are awesome! The back of the 'flower' is in fact a sepal and the horns and petals are modified petals referred to as the blade (front) and spur (horns behind). See also this web page.

A setting looking to the east-southeast while taking in views on the Townsend/Sunshine Covered Bridge with the Little River flowing by. My thought in composing this image had been to capture a more or less balanced view between both sides of the riverbank with the river flowing by. I angled my Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera slightly downward, so that I could raise the horizon and minimize what I felt was the negative space of the mostly overcast skies that afternoon. I later worked with DxO PhotoLab 7 and was able to use the ClearView Plus tool to bring out some blue skies present for the final image.

I have shot this tree before. I just like the gnarly appearance. We had freezing rain the evening before and I believe that is what the branches appear white. In the color version it is not obvious. Kind of like this better than the color version. What about you.

I have no idea why I captured this pic from this ugly abandoned building without any beauty and harmony.

But sometimes I feel love especially for those things that have a long history.

Having fun with long exposure. Kudos to Mr. K for organizing this photo club experiment!
