I have never seen Poppy Fields so vast. They are truely stunning this year. This image was shot on the outskirts of my village, Laceby. The field beyond this field, behind the edge, was also full of poppys, truely amazing.
I intentionally created foreground interest, by focusing on the poppys nearest, with the vast display disappearing into the distance. I hoped that this would better convey the stunning scene before me.
The evening sun was strong from the right, hitting the poppys, which in turn caused them to be illuminated.

After a decade I have Brown headed nuthatches visiting my place again. They zip in and grab one seed and fly up to a limb and crack it and eat it and then down quickly for another. Welcome back nuthatches. Labor on.
I must look clueless when I am out shooting and have sad puppy dog eyes were friendly people want to help correct my ways.
On this sunset, I was at Panorama Point in Capitol Reef National Park. The "view" is the opposite direction, and I was set up with my tripod looking in the opposite direction from everyone else.
Three separate people came up to me, letting me know where I was supposed to be shooting. I thanked them for their kindness and stood my ground :-)
Having recently been fortunate enough to buy a house with a field, we are enjoying these sheep loaned by a local farmer. Walking out on a late summer's eve, the light was beautiful.

After having been shut out by a weather front the night before in Coyote Gulch, William MacIntosh and I decided the head further east to get out from under the storm that seemed to be following us around. Bill is quite adept at chasing (and running) from weather systems so after acquiring a connection and analyzing the weather radar we decided to head further into Utah towards Canyonlands National Park. We both missed peak fall color in the Eastern Sierra this year so Bill and I were quite pleased to see the fall colors peaking here in the center of Capitol Reef National Park which happened to be right along the route to our next destination.

If you have a fear of crossing bridges, you'll want to avoid this one, over ten MILES long, (I had to double check that!) and the speed limit is 75 miles per hour. It's the Vasco da Gama bridge in Lisbon, Portugal, and this is a reproduction hanging in my living room. Even the painting is 5 feet wide......

The red foliage colors are finally beginning to show. Birch Pond in Lynn was very tranquil these morning, allowing some good reflections to form.

Salyx, having a wee shady moment on the new garden sofa...
We built this behemoth in June...from old pallets and new decking. I thought it was a good idea. It weighs a bloomin’ tonne! It is more than seven ft long, at one point. Also, I had to buy some sheds in which to keep the over-the-top-expensive cushions.
Anyway...not content with lying under a tree or a bush, Madam decided that comfort was top of the agenda.
