The MK1 Punto went on sale in 1993 but didn't arrive in the UK until 1994, hence why the Punto wasn't eligible for the 1994 Car of the Year award. Personally even as a former Punto MK2 owner, I think the MK1 has aged better than the Mk2.

The Dacia 1325, also known as 1325 Liberta or simply as Liberta, was a car manufactured by Romanian auto marque Dacia from 1991 to 1996.
The Dacia 1325 was the hatchback version of the Dacia 1310. Some photos exist of Dacia 1325 Libertas fitted with the final CN4 front fascia, although rare. It was the successor to the Dacia 1320 hatchback, which was built from 1987 until 1990. At first the 1325 was just an updated copy of the old 1310, but in 1993 it received a facelift matching that of the 1310, and it remained in production until 1996.
As the 1325 cost more than the more desirable station wagon model, sales were limited. Although more successful than the earlier 1320, only about 7,800 examples were built in total. Exports were limited to nearby Eastern European countries and also Greece.
The 1.3-liter, 40 kW engine was only available in the comparably expensive 1325 for the first year of production, replaced by the 47 kW, 1.4 L in 1993.
The Peugeot 205 was reduced to budget-orientated or special edition models by the mid-90s like this Inca edition. Now on SORN and with an interesting MOT history!
The Renault 11 Hatchback was launched in Febr. 1983. In fact the Renault 11 Phase 1 was a Renault 9 Phase 2 but not as the more traditional ponton type saloon with a boot.
Both 9 and 11 were designed by Robert Opron.
The Renault 9/11 series was also assembled in Valladolid, Spain.
This Renault 11 was one of the about hundred 1970s and 1980s cars which are part of a rather vague classic car collection of two brothers. I spoke with one of them but still I don't understand the purpose of their collection activities.

The R16 was presented in jan. 1965. The hatchback concept in combination with front-wheel traction was at the time very modern.
It was designed by Philippe Charbonneaux (1917-1998) in cooperation with Gaston Juchet.
For 1971 the R16 got a restyled rear end.
For 1973 the luxury R16 TX was added with lots of standard options and accessories.

Only as the three door hatchback when introduced in North America. Later came the longer wheelbased four door hatch. We didn't get the pickup, wagons or sedans that were seen in many other lands.
I have an Album of GM world cars that are related to this one, all the different body styles that were made from this basic car.

What was a car from the 60s doing in Stockholm in 2018? They were shooting a movie set in the 60's. I noticed when a supervisor from the shoot politely pleaded with me to stop taking pictures of the cars and leave the scene.
The Renault 16 (R16) is a D-segment family hatchback produced by French automaker Renault between 1965 and 1980 in Le Havre, France. The Renault 16 was the first successful hatchback body-style car in a market segment, previously exclusively dominated by three-box, bottom range executive cars, and estates, selling approaching two million cars – all hatchbacks.
The R16 was a great success, with 1,845,959 R16s produced during a production run of 15 years. The car sold well in most of Europe, winning praise for its spacious and comfortable interior as well as the practicality offered by its effectively unique hatchback bodystyle.
